- Do you ever wonder why something happens in an acrylic pour, or how to change or control it? David @LeftBrainedArtist and I love to analyze our pours and see how to scientifically affect the outcome! Today we are giving some troubleshooting assistance to viewers who submitted pictures of their artwork for feedback.
David’s half of this session is here: • Acrylic Pour Feedback ...
If you’d like us to give some tips on your own acrylic pour art, fill out this form and we’ll get back to you!

This was great fun and so excited about the conversations we are having here in the comments.
Yes indeed! Looking forward to seeing your half of the conversation next week!
Ah! Letting it sit for a bit, as Gina does, I totally forget! Thanks for the reminder David. I will go back and watch some more Gina. Pouring height is also something I will watch for. I think I don’t always pay attention to that. Thank you for the compliments. I don’t hate my paintings; they’re just not what I was hoping for. Your tips were useful.
I’m glad you found it helpful! They are some great pieces!
I might add, Willie B Studios is the creator of this version of the cloud mix. She does live painting sessions on FB and has a TH-cam channel and provides lots of tips for the technique. Really interesting effects for layering different transparencies next to the cloud mix. Also, the Vallejo Pearl Medium is finicky and performs better with certain brands of paint, like Amsterdam. I love the science of pour art! But I will say, it’s maddening to a new artist trying to figure it all out!! Good luck with your cloud pours. Im a bit obsessed with them myself. 😂
Glad to help. There is a lot to keep track of while painting. I forget half of it too!
Thanks for this feedback as always this really helped me learning what's like to do fluid art since I never did it before I just did regular painting glad to have a conservation with David on streamcast and you shared your Aurora painting which turned out i respected all your thoughts and opinions on what you think about each painting
My favorite one is the orange one blending with turoquoise color please do this again with more feedback and information
Thanks Alanna!
If we get enough additional submissions we just might do that.
As a viewer of both your channels, I loved this collab. Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks so much Rebekah.
I very much appreciate you both taking the time to do this! Thank you for teaching the way my brain works in this video and your videos in general! Much appreciated!
I’m so glad!
Thanks for watching Fiona.
Please do more! I am a "little old nubie" and learned so much in 28 minutes. Thank you both so very much.
I’m so glad! David has a video coming next week, probably. If you’d like feedback on any of your pours, fill out the form that’s in the video description!
It was just as much fun to do.
Thank you David and Anna that was a great informative video ❤
Thanks Jeanette!
Our pleasure my friend.
Excellent collab! I'll need to submit something 💖
Thank you!
Give it a try for sure. This was a blast to do.
Oh gosh after teaching fluid art for a couple of years I'm glad to see a video like this I mean there are things I would have given more advice on, like spritz your painting with 91% isopropyl alcohol or higher to help pop those air bubbles but their is a lot of great information here great collab!
Thanks!
@@AnnaBlountArt yw!
I haven't had much luck with that but I might have to do some more testing.
Great info thanks to you both.
Thanks Brenda!
Thanks Brenda.
I love jell medium cause everything shines however it makes it harder to get right consistency because it is insanely thick
Yes you have to mix it with your paint first before thinning…
I just watched the episode on left brained artist so I had to come give some love here too. 😅
Thank you! Lots of great tips all around!
The cloud pour looks like a cloud galaxy!!!
Yep it does!
I know right!
As a subscriber to both of your channels, I thought this was an awesome video. I would love to see more of these as I think they are excellent teaching aids. I'd be happy to send some pictures if you are in need of subject matter. Great job! Keep up the good work!!!!
Thank you! Yes please fill out the form if you have any paintings you’d like feedback on…if we get enough submissions we will do another round!
@@AnnaBlountArt I'm planning on sending 3 paints. Should I do a separate form for each one?
@@duckster8013 that would be the clearest if you used different paint mixtures or if you have multiple pictures of each painting. The form allows up to 5 photos. But you can also do one form and just describe each different painting. Up to you!
This was a great video.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
Great instructional video…thanks.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
This was the best video, thanks for doing it
You’re welcome Maureen! Did you see his half of the conversation too?
I saw the whole video
@@maureengingrass7552 I mean the video that he put on his channel a few days ago! We each posted half the conversation, even though we were both in each half.
No, I did not, I will try to find li k and watch it.
You guys are challenging each other!
Yes we are!
That is the best way to learn.
@@LeftBrainedArtist YES!!!
@@AnnaBlountArt Love it!!!
Running the paint through a paper sieve cone will cause all the bubbles to accumulate in the sieve.
Good tip!
We'll have to try that.
Hi from Canada 🇨🇦 I’ve used glue and water with craft paint they are away to thin how can I thicken them ?
Hi Maurice! I’ve had the same issue in the past. What ratio of glue and water do you use?
You could either make a thicker pouring medium, such as 80% glue 20% water, or you could mix your paints 1:1 with straight glue and then just add a bit of water to thin it.
@@AnnaBlountArt 100% agree. Less water in the medium is the first place I'd start.
AL Soft Body White eats cells if you use too much. Problem for me anyway.
Interesting! I’ve never used it myself…
I use their black, with a little Gac800 and liquitex gloss medium for my Amsterdam pearl paints
The AL soft body white + Vallejo is the Willie B recipe. I've got a bottle just for that but I'm still working on my straight pours.
As an AVID viewer of both David and Anna, I realized that I need to work more on my straight pour before I attempt another cloud pour.
@@RebekahSue straight pours have so much potential!! I haven’t tried a cloud pour yet but I love straight pours for sure.
That eats everything because it floats to the top and takes over.
