It’s ironic. Chidori’s persona is Medea, a woman who gave everything to a man only to be betrayed in the end, but Chidori gives her life to Junpei but he stays faithful to her and never abandons her.
It kinda helps that Junpei's Persona is not Jason, the guy who just got the wrong end of both his patron goddess Hera and his wife by cheating on her. He paid a heavy price for his infidelity with his and his mistress' deaths.
Also, she also gets betrayed by another man she gave all to, who is this?

Zeno Robinson's voice acting in this sequence is just top notch. The way he shouts that "Burn in Hell!" is so frickin raw!
When I close my eyes, all I hear is Hunter from TOH.
I genuinely wonder how many takes that took. That was such a perfect take. Also, to be honest, I did not know that was Zeno Robinson until this exact moment. Knocked it out of the park as Hunter, so I'm happy to see him in more things.

Well, his Blaze of Life ignores resistance. I guess they accounted Jin's repel fire and made it this way for clearing a plot hole

Everybody is talking about how the VA's performance on the screams is phenomenal, and I agree, but that "BURN IN HELL" actually had me screaming right alongside Junpei bro.
I will admit Jin getting cart wheeled like 3 times into a wall in OG P3 was fucking hilarious (I watched the og version of this scene after seeing it in reload) , but still. Junpei is like my favorite character in this game atm (just got passed this scene.) Hope he doesn't die!
This scene will always make me ball my eyes out and the fact that they animated and added even more to the scene is truly phenomenal. It also has the best resolution in the entire series. Junpei’s voice acting, motivations, development and persona fusion are top tier in every way. It’s now cemented itself as my favorite scene in any persona game and I don’t think that’ll ever change.
He’s Persona 3’s, and maybe all of Persona’s (not so sure about that one because I haven’t played all the games), best boy.

Junpei is far and away the best “bro” character, if only because he serves a purpose beyond being just the gag doofus that makes the Hero look cooler.
I actually thought this scene was funny. It was so cliche and over the top. The whole; "I love you", dying in his arms with him screaming and it pans to the moon. I couldn't help but chuckle at it. I really couldn't take it seriously. Can't fault a remake of a game released in 2006 for reeking of 2006 though.

as soon as she fell back and junpei catches her immediately started sobbing my eyes out through the rest of that cutscene. the most painful part was that i already knew that this was gonna happen, but holy shit this just hit a thousand times harder than the original
This was another scene I really wanted to see with the announcement of 3R. Probably my favorite or tied for my favorite non protag awakening in Modern Persona. Junpei has such a incredible character arc in the game, going from a immature and arrogant teenager who wants to be significant to Da Man.
Zeno Robinson absolutely killed it in this scene, and as Junpei in general. Stellar recast.

No matter if is Original, Fes, Portable, Movie or Reload, this part always hurt a lot, especially the scream Junpei's Va gives on Reload it feels genuily anger, and Living with determination is a stab on the heart.

If that Revolver SOB Takaya said the same thing about Flapjack, Hunter would be pissed and do the same thing.
For how good the voice acting in this game is, this was phenomenal.
All death scenes in Reload are so much painful than in the original, Shinjiro and Chidori's death scenes are so much better and painful, the flashbacks that Junpei had for her and seeing him cry and screaming.😭😭
Okay first off. Who is cutting onions by me & second. Love that they showed Junpei & Chidori's personas combined together to make Junpei's ultimate Persona. Just like in P5r 3rd tier personas.
Actually this was an adaptation of the same thing that happened in Portable Medea and hermes fuse in that one too. And I'm so glad it did. it's so awsome.
Okay, gotta say junpei and chidoris persona fusing is still kind of cool. Man accomplished persona fusion without using the velvet room or being a wildcard.
That makes it twice that Zeno Robinson has voiced someone who was brought back from the dead by someone they loved.

Hmm... i wished they kept the fact the sketchbook has many drawings of Jumpei, instead of only one as we see in Reload.
If you talk to mitsuru after this scene she mentions the book was full of sketches of junpei. They just only shows one in that scene
to be fair that was an addition from Portable. The original was also just one page.

Man, the amount of gut punches in reload have been real. They really captured each scene really well.
I really gotta give props to the new voice cast they did such a great job maintaining the personality’s of the characters and I loved that they brought the old cast back to voice other characters in the game.
Junpei in the background during the fight is just too much, also she didn't die first turn, only to suffer more is even worse

Yeah, this or Aki's are like S+ Awakenings. Junpei as a whole is prob in Top 5 Best written Modern Persona characters.

Honestly all the second awakenings minus Fuuka’s are well done, it’s just another reason I hate Fuuka though lol. But real talk Junpei’s is the best, even though I knew this would happen it only makes the tragedy worse.
This scene is the reason I am going for the true ending. Gotta do it for the bro Junpei and his girl Chidori
Zeno Robinson deserves a nomination for best VA on this scene alone. He NAILED it.
Its a good thing that its very canon now that Chidori is still alive (Anime,P4 Combat game,and all of P3 games as long as you played it right.)

I love this, because it was the first time you saw Takaya rattled. Like 'Oh shit. They may be more than a small problem.'

Also I accidentally had I'll Face Myself set as my battle theme for this fight and it actually made this more impactful.

I wouldn’t really call this a boss fight now since the fight ends after a few turns. Just survive long enough and the fight will be over.
Technically, Most personas would be able to restore life,if It knew Samarecarm, or Mediarahan spells. But i guess Chidori's Persona, Medea, only knew Recarmdra, which gives the users health to another.

Don't forget she is sick and is gonna die in any moment. Using Recarmdra may have consumed all what was left of her life.

Ah, so the spell does have a name.
Junpei was seconds away from death. Not simply unconscious or something like that, but actual death. Only one way to heal an injury that serious when you only have a few seconds remaining to save that person.

Zeno Robinson is a phenomenal voice actor and he really gave Junpei his all, which makes me love the scene so much more
Junpei’s scream made it sound like he was about to transform into a titan.
I really liked the P3 movie's interpretation of this scene and I can see how they took notes from it haha, I wish it was given more nuance though

@@voxatious3920 in the movie version there is some difference, most notably when Takaya and Jin picked up Chidori from the Hospital, and then when junpei got shot, saved by chidori from death, and his rage toward strega has more going for it (there's an actual fight) and is both more brutal and sad. I felt it flowed better than the game version but maybe it's just me

A bit disappointed that Jin didn’t go flying the way he did when Junpei nuked him in the original. Everything else about this scene was superb though.

The ONLY game over I got in the entire game was during Chidori's fight. I'm not even kidding. She opened with Maragidyne and killed 2 of my party members, then killed the third one with the 1 More she got. I tried reviving them but then her Neuro Slash crit killed MC. I can't believe the only battle I lost in the entire game was a scripted fight LMAO

I just went in this because Medea’s one of my favourite Personas and really wanted to see how she looked in Reload but I couldn’t find a single picture of her anywhere, which really sucks.

this scene was so epic in the original mainly because the strega members literally SAW Junpei's persona evolve in front of them I felt like this scene should've been an anime scene and we saw a beautiful fushion between the 2 ....and that Junpei would then completely pwn both of them at once not just Jin ....even if it was only for that scene I wanted to see them hit with the Blazing Hell spell .....at least they also kept the other option with Chidori if you do the right things ......
If you want to see an animated version of this cutscene, I'd suggest watching the movie version of it. It does a really good job on this scene

I always imagined that after Jin threw the smoke bomb both him and Takaya perfectly swan dived at the same time off the bridge and into the water.

The seen was done geart... but I got to be real, the fusion looked incredibly goofy. Again everything before and after is great but that does drag it down a bit

The Resolution is a lot better here. Because Junpei sounds like a broken man here. He died but came back to life. But it came at a cost. Strega is partially responsible for Chidori's death so his anger towards them is justified.
Wow. Either you were just underleveled (not helped by the fact you brought Mitsuru), or Reload really buffed the hell out of Chidori. If so, I wonder if Takaya and Jin got the same treatment.

Dude she legit one shot my party all around lvl55 (yukari, aigis,ken) and left my lvl58 makoto with like 30 HP lmao (merciless mode) it was actually pretty annoying I died sometimes
This genuinely hurts because Chidori is one of my favorite P3 characters.

IVE SAID IT SO MANY TIMES AND ILL SAY IT AGAIN. ZENO ROBINSON IS A PHENOMENAL VOICE ACTOR AND DESERVES ALL THE RESPECT. I met him at MomoCon and he’s legitimately one of the best people I’ve ever met.
Hold up. I was there at Momocon this spring and saw him there.
It think it’s criminal they rewrote this section from the original but, to the best of my knowledge and from what I remember from the original games. (So I might even be entirely wrong about this) Chidori’s sketch book carried a lot more weight to it during its scene. Because from what I remember, it didn’t just have one picture of Junpei in it……or a few here and there.
The entire sketch book was full of pictures of him.
And only him.
I mean, it is just the first page, there is probably more, we just dont see them

Junpei is a mentally strong guy always being dependant on making others happy through laughs just to deal with this a very realistic character from thinking he's top dog to knowing he has a long journey to reach his goal.
I like how Takaya actually looks kinda pissed when Junpei knocks down Jin in this version
So we establish that Aigis can speed-blitz our entire crew as well as accurately shoot 20+ bullets at once to free us from our bindings earlier, wtf is she doing here then?
I always figured Takaya was buffing his gun with his Persona. Because Persona users get shot...a lot. Like not only Aigis but Naoto and THAT character from P4, not to mention the Shadow's in this game that literally have guns like the Chariot Shadow. And none of this is accounting for stuff like those tanks that run over you doing more damage than a pistol ever could, or the fact they can dodge literal electricity.
So Takaya is using Megidola in his gun or something. Because there are way to many guns in this series for his pistol to somehow do this if it was normal.
God i forgot how much i hate Takaya and Jin.

I thought this boss was going to be really hard cause the first turn attack killed 2 characters right off the bat. Kind of a shame it was just a timed battle.
