    Hey mates, I'm about to use this rig on a jetty for samson fish and kingfish. Just wondering, does the sinker have to be that big for a live squid? Wouldnt it look unnatural to the fish if it sees the squid struggling to move on the bottom? Cheers

      Fish as light as you can, its about keeping the bait away from the jetty. thanks for tuning in

    I went on a Pittwater Kingfish charter and they were using this rig with a treble hook as the first hook above the eye. Any need to ?

    • @TheHookandTheCook
      @TheHookandTheCook  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nathan I only use circle hooks these days as all fish are hooked cleanly and can be released easy with little damage.
      Hope this helps mate, I dont think you need trebles at all, thanks for tuning in.

    I don't understand where you made that loop, and when you add the 200 mm piece of line to hold the hook in place do you put it in the eye of the hook or do you just wrap it

    • @TheHookandTheCook
      @TheHookandTheCook  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Andrew the small 200mm piece of line is bent in half then you take one side and bind it towards the loop the poke it through and tighten both, mate watch it again Iam shore you will get it, thanks for your feed back.

    I find these adjustable knots always come undone after one or two baits rigged on.

    • @TheHookandTheCook
      @TheHookandTheCook  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes at times they do but only after landing a fish or two, I use the same line as my trace to tie the know I find it works well.

    can you tell me for bluefish what hook and line to use?

    • @TheHookandTheCook
      @TheHookandTheCook  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blue fish are much the same as Drummer so I would say a number 1 would suit.

    Are snelled circles or suicides better?

    • @TheHookandTheCook
      @TheHookandTheCook  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Circle hooks are better as it make it very easy to release fish as all will be hooked in the corner of the mouth, I now use circle hooks when live baiting and get good results.
      Thanks for tuning in and please share our clips as it help us film more for all.
