    Hi Blake, you are a lucky man. Training with your DAD. Enjoy your time with him.it is very special. I worked with my Dad and wish I could have had more . It is not easy to work with family but in time it is very rewarding to you. Training will come quick to you, as your DAD has gone the hard road giving you all his knowledge, you take care of that chest cold. Love looking at you work in the background with you Dad
    Thanks for videos Warran

    Another stunning journey into the innards of a JD. When I walk by one now it is more than just a tractor, it is the combination of components you have opened up, repaired, and explained to us. Thanks for adding value to something that I would otherwise not be knowledgeable of and understand its operation.

    This rotating clutch reminds me of the Cat 992C trans which had a much larger clutch than this one. It was a real pain to get the springs all lined up to bolt it together. Keep up the good vids.

    Hi
    Just came across your channel and really helpful videos.
    Am in Ireland and have transmission problems with my 6910 powerquad, I think it’s the same as the 7410 in the US.
    Initially, it felt like the left hand forward/reverse shuttle would not work, this was the original round handle version, this was changed for a new version.
    Initially, the tractor worked fine, then the same intermittent problem - tractor would not move when I selected forward or reverse, and a beeping alarm sound, but no warning lights, backend or transmission oil level good, the tractor makes the usual sounds when I shift thru the powerquad. Rear linkage and pto fine.
    This is a 2001 tractor, does max 100hours annually, i work outside Agriculture.
    Strangely, we have had some very cold freezing weather here in Ireland, a bit like North East USA, went to move it in my barn and she moved perfectly, as if nothing wrong!
    We need to check the oil pump pressure, I am a novice here, ?where is the pressure test port on the powerquad?
    I would appreciate you advice,one guy who knows a lot about those older Deeres suggests changing the solenoids, what would you advice?
    Thank you for those excellent videos.
    Goodnight from Dublin (Ireland not Ohio!)
    Mf

    I would like to have some input on this it is from newsletter from ifixit - John Deere has also been aggressively locking down their products, aiming to monopolize service and prevent farmers from doing repairs themselves. They opposed a DMCA exemption for farmers on the grounds that if owners could fix their own equipment, they might use their newfound freedom to pirate Taylor Swift’s music on their tractors. Cheers Greg. Love ya show & extra.

    Tip for getting the piston and seal in. Take clear packaging tape and wrap around perimeter of piston, squeezing seal in. Insert piston, then pull tape out.

I took a guess and basically blew it. In my defense though I couldn't really see it from my house. See ya in the next one.

    Hi Warren WIth the greatest respect your not much of a teacher. Can I suggest you let Blake do some of the practical work and you stand on the side and instruct him on what to do on some projects. That way he's involved, learning, and it will really give the vids another interesting point of view as we'll see the project from a learning prospective too. Appreciate your efforts!!.

    Hey Warren great work as usual
    I rebuild 2/3 of these power quad units a year i find if you use a pair of those half moon bearing puller clamps with 2 lengths threaded bar stock for handles it make it so much easier than vise grips to install those front planetary units as you have the threaded bar to use to rotate it. Great work again,
    By the way sorry about the JCB you should try it over here in the UK there every bloody where!!!

    Are the New Holland Dynamic Command 24x24 transmissions better than their 16x16 Electro Command transmissions and which is more reliable you think? I have a New Holland 2018 T6.180 16x16 Electro Command and I may change over to the New Holland 2020 Dynamic Command 24x24 T6.180 tractor, should I make the change or keep what I got?

    it is possible to remove transmission of tractor and change only forward clutch and reverse brake clutch? Its is possible without removing front cover and all clutch and planetary gears in front?

    If you take a womens trouser sock, it is like nylons but much thicker, cut off the toe seam and double it up on your knee. 2 layers that is, it will not restrict your movement but it should apply enough pressure to help you knee feel better. When I have a problem with mine I even leave it on when I sleep, I also use it on my elbows when they start aching.

    Why do you return your torque wrench back to zero every time you use it? What will happen if you fail to do that like I've done with mine for the last 20 years?

    • @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353
      @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On a spring type dial torque wrench I don't like leaving the spring compressed all the time while not in use which throws the calibration off. I have mine calibrated twice a year and the spring ones are always off.

    • @Rickbearcat
      @Rickbearcat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@westerntruckandtractorrepa1353 ...I see. So, constant compression of the spring will throw off the set torque value. Thank you.

    2 videos today, working hard? hardly working. In 2019 the powerquad tranny on my 6420 had to be redone by jd, they said it was because I hauled grain on the open road with 4x4 engaged and it stuffed it all up. Some how the box dont like hauling in 4x4 or the clutch packs or some shit get worn down. Have a great day Warren and God Bless
