I’m just a country boy from va and I love go go and always will. I went to school in Tennessee and they were like what’s go go? I had a little spot on the ETSU radio many moons ago and played a lot of it mostly junkyard, rare essence, chuck brown , dj kool, and northeast groovers. They loved it and didn’t even no about it. I’m 44 now and still love it and want more covers to go go beats . They jus sound better I think. Jus sayin 👍

I remember hearing this song on the radio in college (longwood university in farmville va around 2005ish) and I would never catch the band's name - pretty sure I have a mix tape or two somewhere with this song recorded off the radio. I always loved it, and I knew it was a cover but for whatever reason I never dug deeper. I also didn't know anything about the DC go-go music scene (and i grew up in rva) until I had moved and been living in Maryland for a few years.

First time I heard Go-Go was back in 82. Just came from Germany and was stationed at Ft Belvoir, VA. Trouble Funk came to our Enlisted Club and turned it out. I heard Rare Essence were in Germany but I missed seeing them. After that Chuck Brown, E.U., Junkyard Band, Backyard Band, White Boy, etc. Go-Go is here to stay. Alexandria, VA in the house!!! Saw a Go-Go meets Rap concert at the infamous Capital Center in Maryland back in the mid 80's.
