I was nodding my head at your sage advice, until you mentioned that you could 'stack' movements into cruise control and then you had me. Utterly excellent advice Sir. Liked and subscribed 😀

This makes me think. This Cruise Control features only available in Canada. Why? I've not heard any of the American reviewers, say anything about it. Not one. My mind is blown. Thank you!
If they have mentioned it? They have certainly not, featured it. Obviously, not understanding, it. But I understand this, perfectly. This is very much a kin. To our, Automated Music Audio Mixing. You move a fader. It remembers the move. You move a different fader. That fader move is added to the other fader. And so on and so forth. Until you build up your Mega Recording Mix. It's done the same way. You turn on the automation. And everything else you do. One at a time. Is an update. And you just go back to the beginning. And it does it. Where you want it to do it. Where you set it before. This is the same thing. This is a huge Boon! I had no idea what that was for? Or how it functioned? Because it's not the, 1958 Cadillac. Is that when they introduced their cruise control? No matter. LOL.
I guess it took a cold Canadian. To figure this out. Bravo Sir. My hat is off to you. Because it's hot down here in Central, Texas. And I don't like wearing hats. I'm not a cowboy. I'm originally from Detroit. So I know what cold is all about. And year spent in, St. Paul, Minnesota. No thank you.
And up in Alberta. I don't know when you can get out to fly a drone? Don't those freeze? Don't the batteries, freeze? You don't want to do that to their batteries. They are expensive. So as I see it. You can only fly your Drone in Alberta, Canada. What? 2 or 3 months out of the year? How did you get this good? You are obviously quite accomplished. As I also was in the Video Business for many years. Only in actual Network Television working for one of America's National Broadcasting Companies. The first. The original. Created by RCA. To become NBC.
And so I don't care if you do crappy video. It's Alberta, Canada. And we are both colleagues after all. I do not comment on a colleagues', crappy work. Not that yours is crappy. It obviously isn't. You Ackley took the time to read the manual. I don't think any of the Americans do? They had a toy drone before. So of course they know everything about this new one. No they do not. You, just proved it.
I really like this feature. I was thinking about getting a, Mini 4-Pro. I've been waiting and watching. Watching and waiting. But now I think I'm going to go for it. Plus I really like the, SloMo frame rates it offers. I like SloMo. I think SloMo probably looks great in, FPV mode. Overkill over Dale. As long as it doesn't hit the dusty trail. You know? Aye.. (That's my best Canadian,, impersonation aye)
Yes growing up in Detroit as I did. I had Windsor Ontario, across the street next door. I could ride my bicycle from Royal Oak, Michigan. As a young teenager. Into a foreign country called Canada. I was thought that was really cool to do. Though I could never go through the Tunnel. I had to go across the Ambassador Bridge. But it was still so cool to do. As a kid. Customs would always ask me and my young teenage friend. What are you doing in Canada? We would laugh and say we are here to buy drugs. And they would tell us to get out. And we would ride around downtown Windsor on our bicycles. Just because, we could.
I always loved watching and listening to, CBC Radio & TV. CKLW TV-9. The Big Eight Oh. AM rock station. The FM side was always Classical Music of the Finest Masters. And oh. How I loved, Benny Hill and the, Monty Python's. What great entertainment. And Peter Sellers. We would get all these great BBC programming. On the CBC. That most Americans never got to see or watch. Except in Detroit. And other border cities. So I grew up with better TV than most Americans.
I had a marvelous experience earlier in my teenage life in Winnipeg, Manitoba. And I had a life-changing event. 23 years ago in Montréal. Some people left their hearts in San Francisco. I left a little piece of myself in Montréal.. A couple of little pieces. And I dearly miss Montréal.
But I shan't be driving to Canada again. Since 2002. When I left in February 2001. After, Nine 11, 2001. They will not allow me to, drive back into Canada. In out today. It also requires a passport. Just like going into Mexico also. When all we used to be able to use was our Driver's license. But thanks to a bunch of terrorists. I guess all Americans are now, terrorists. And due to a small impropriety in my life. Coming home from a big social gathering. In my mid-20s. They decided to throw that in my face. 25 years later. After I paid back my debt, to society. But they told me not in Canada. And I am no longer allowed, in Canada. To drive. Well? I'm a single person with a motorhome. And an old woman. They don't want my money. They don't have to have my money. I'll keep it in the US. I will miss Canada. It was a very important part of my life. All my life until 9/11/2001. When they decided to reject me. After a lifetime of acceptance. Let's hear it for, consistency. And emotional battery. Which is against the law to do in Canada to another person. But the Canadians have chosen to do it to me. I am beyond hurt. And after I spent, the better part of $13,000 in Canada. In February 2001. Because I wanted my life-saving surgery in Canada. I was able to get that. But not go back the following year for follow-up. After I drove from Washington DC to the Canadian border. And had taken the time off from work. For a medical follow-up. Denied. My thread had increased from the previous year I guess? Maybe it was the terrorists? Ya think? Or just some American bigotry? Yeah that. I was not happy. I was devastated and insulted. What nerve. But that's not your fault Sir.
All the Canadians I know are wonderful people. Except for aspects of your government. Very different from ours down here in the USA. Americans don't realize how different. It smacked me in the face. It punched me in the gut. It cost me over thousand dollars in expenses. And days with no pay. And I made good money at work. I lost a few thousand bucks. And I said you let me in last year. They said not anymore. And they escorted me back to the US border.
As it turns out they were only trying to extort money out of me. That's a fine, Howdy do.. Screw that. They want me to pay fines. But they didn't the previous year. Nothing changed between then and now.. Nothing. I'm still rather outraged by it. Canada was my second home. I loved, Canada.
This was a great video. Thank you very much. For your work and effort. And your marvelous Canadian skills. Understanding the manual. Americans now need Artie Fecal Intelligence.

I can't speak to every country, but I know cruise control is available in most of the EU and UK, as well as other places. I was under the impression it worked fine in the US as well, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Glad you enjoyed the video, and nice comments for sure!! A very thorough and detailed reply! And nah, winters are cold and nasty for sure, but summers are hot and I can probably fly the drone 7 or 8 months out of the year, and can even manage a few flights in the cold months thanks to Chinooks (a warm wind from the mountains that can raise the temperature from 20 below F to 40 or 50 above F in literally a couple of hours).

I had been flying my ir 3 yesterday a lot. This feature was very useful at times. Also in narrow not well lit spaces (inside a factory), where obstacle avoidance was not avaliable. I just set the speed to I wanted and only concentrated on not hitting anything (didnt need to move the gimbal either).
You could also use waypoints but setting them up takes some time and they also only work with GPS, which isnt avaliable inside a factory. Cruise control made life a lot easier to make the shots look not shaky while also enabking a safe flight.
The 0.65x fish eye extender also added that extra something to make the recordings even more incredible as the drone squeezed through all those narrow gaps. It also widens the aperture a bit (effectively to f1.1 making tge scene extra bright, which was very helpful in the darkness as you'd guess correctly.
The factory is still in construction, thats why the lighting was extra minimal.

Hello, Todd, I'm in Northern England. If you are flying under cruise control, say in a basic straight horizontal line, and you pull back on the right control, to move backwards for a second or so, when you let go of the right control, the original forward flight, under Cruise control will resume.

If you don't press your cruise control button to update the cruise control settings while holding the control stick back, yes this is what would happen.

My thought after watching this video is that you did a really good job laying out the cruise control functionality. I had the same thoughts as you initially in that the cruise control function seemed a little gimicky and maybe a little risky. I wasn't too inclined to use it. Now I am. Again, good video.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong on my M4P, but i often accidentally cancel CC instead of updating with the C2 button. Is a long tap required, or is a quick tap sufficient? I've tried both with mixed results. I will try again based on your video.
Are you able to use the stacking method reliably before you overshoot your subject? Seems like it might take too long to achieve the desired complex motion.
    Just discovered your channel. Subscribed.

    • @Blue-Marble-Videos
      @Blue-Marble-Videos  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Usually just a quick tap will do the job. Just make sure you're holding the input stick where you want it when you do the tap, because without any input sticks tapping C2 will cancel cruise control. I'll do more testing to see if I can replicate this issue, but for me as long as I'm holding an input then it updates rather than cancels. As for the time it takes to stack, yeah, if you want to set up a shot quickly before you overshoot then you're better off setting it all at once. Thanks for your comments and sub!

With DJI, you can only do activetrack on people and vehicles such as cars and boats. It won't lock on to other stuff. I've tried several times (usually with my dog, but with other things too). I could try it with another drone, but I strongly suspect it won't work. I may give this a try this weekend. Thanks for the idea!
