I have wanted top surgery for at least 10 years. Now that I am ready to admit that I need this and I am not obligated to keep my body the way it is, too please other people, I want to do it as soon as possible. 💚
This is one of the best top surgery videos I've seen. Most of them are just about the procedure, but you cover a lot of important topics. I'm very fortunate I have a good job, with great insurance that will cover most of the cost (top surgery this summer) and the ability to take the entire summer off to recoup, without loss of income, but I know a lot of trans men aren't that lucky. Thank you for giving them realistic goals, and things to think about.
Congrats on your upcoming surgery! It's ok to be a little scared. I was worried about my nipples too! Wishing you a safe and happy recovery from surgery. 💛
I hope I can someday get top surgery. I'm currently a 20 year old transgender man ftm and I can't afford top surgery at the moment. I have extreme discomfort with my chest and I try binding but it's not enough. Having a flat chest and getting on testronone is all I can think about.
I had been planning on moving to Oregon from Alaska, but the fact that there was one surgeon who primarily worked on breast cancer patients, and had only done 2-3 top surgeries definitely sped up my moving process. The weather being so much nicer here is also such a huge positive.
I am 8 months on T and I have my consultation with my surgeon for top surgery in November. I am not stressed or scared I have had so many surgeries in the past for other things and I am actually very much excited.
I'm hoping to get top surgery in about a year, and I'm looking at going to Florida, since there's a number of top surgeons there for decent prices (I'm currently looking at Dr. Timothy Alexander) ... I've been saving up since my freshman year, and I have about $12,000 currently ... I'm literally so excited I've wanted top surgery since I was 14 and I'm so close to being financially and legally able to without my parents control. Thank you for this video, this really helps me prepare for the reality of it as an upcoming possibility.
I wish someone did a european version of this type of video... Here the systems are very different. I have very sparse info about few surgeons from serbia, germany and the netherlands, but not enough. Also I'm going to have to calculate the expenses somehow, considering different health insuranse systems in different countries which are free but not free for foreign citizens. I think. I'll have to do a research and see if EU has any laws considering that. But thank you for a pretty good starting point for the research :)
Hey there - thanks for checking out the video! I try to keep information broad because I know that specifics are different depending on people's locations. I hope that you can find the info you need for your location, I'm sure there are people sharing information near you. You could try dropping questions in some top surgery Facebook groups. That might be a good way to find people near you. :)
@@rivereastwood2905 I am a memeber of local groups, but I have to do the research for out of country surgeries which no one here opts for, since we have free health insurance, so you don't pay for surgeries. But the downside is there is only one surgeon in whole country and I don't like his results, or lack of consistency in his results to be precise. So, my plan is to figure out if there are other better options in Europe and see if I could potentially possibly afford them. You are lucky in the US bc you can choose from many surgeons. I don't have any choice even if I pay, there simply aren't any other plastic surgeons in my country who do this type of surgery...
@@myflyingkidney I've heard the problem from others in Europe. I can imagine that the lack of choices is frustration. I hope you find a surgeon that qualifies for what you are looking to have done. Wishing the best to you.
Think you look awesome , kinda of an older person going to be transforming so I just was wondering how to prepare yourself on the operation healthy wise what are do or don’ts before you go into a surgery like this and keep it up !! And ty much for sharing your story ! 👍🏻💪🏻
Your surgeon will provide with a list of what not to do. The main one is smoking, no smoking for 2 months prior and during recovery. To prepare myself I ate healthy and worked out regularly. A few weeks prior I focused on getting some of my body fat down and doing more cardio to have good blood flow. Recovery is most important, rest is key and being patient. Best of luck!
I’m planning to get peri in Cleveland Ohio (I’m in Michigan) but it’s 4 hours + away and I’m unsure if going back home would be ok after that kind of surgery. I really like your idea of staying at the hotel during the first week but I’m not sure what to do. Any advice?
I actually can't afford it I dont have a job I live with my mother cuz....I mean I can't leave yet and she needs me to do all of the house work and stuff cuz she doesn't want to
Many medical insurances cover top surgery. If covered by your insurance, you need to get a diagnosis of gender dysphoria from a doctor, a referral letter from a doctor, and a letter from a therapist, to be approved.
@@dad3255 yeah my parents arent going to let me buddy plus one time i watched a show like hospital on a boat and its talking about top surgery and my parents were like UGH
Ok but why’re you being rude? They were giving you advice, chill out. Calling them buddy in that tone seems a bit weird. Mate how old are you? You sound 12-14. I’m getting top surgery next month and luckily have parental consent and I’m 17. If you’re under 16 you should have to wait, that’s the law here in Australia at least. 16-17 with parental consent but you have to have seen a gender therapist for a at least a year or two.
LilactheRuevet also being like Ugh isn’t the worst thing in the world, some parents kick their child out. there might be a lot more to it then just not doing it for you.
Just a friendly reminder that I support ALL gender identities looking to pursue top surgery 💘
dropped this 👑
Hey I'm getting top surgery done Jan 4th

I'm hoping to get mine done this summer too! I have the entire summer off anyway (I'm a teacher) which makes stuff much easier.
Getting top surgery on the 2nd of July, so this have put me a lot more at peace. Never had surgery before, just hope my nipples attach.
Congrats on your upcoming surgery! It's ok to be a little scared. I was worried about my nipples too! Wishing you a safe and happy recovery from surgery. 💛
River Eastwood thank you, means a lot.

Awesome! 💛 Congrats on getting surgery, excited for you! Hope everything goes smooth. Just take it a moment at a time 🙂
This is such helpful information! Thank you for sharing this because I’ve heard it nowhere else so far but it’s so important!
This was incredibly helpful River thank you! I'm right at this point now, and you mention some great points to consider!
So glad you found it helpful! These steps helped calm me down and not have so much anxiety during the process.
I got top surgery 4 years ago, but I had to come here to let you know, you're so handsome bro!

I can barely go outside because of my dysphoria in my chest and that’s why it’s an important thing for me.

Hi Hi Hi hi
How do u finance this?
I was able to finance my surgery with a combination of personal savings, donations, family help, and a credit card.

You are so handsome! I need me a man like you (:
I’m under 18 :
That's ok! At least you're getting prepared and setting things up for the future 💛
You can get top surgery before. With parents concern and a note from a therapist and endocrinologist and stuff like that but it’s possibl.
