You seriously don't want to.. looking to escape back to Ukraine.. yeah.. I'd rather die with dignity then rot in this tax farm.. if you show up here you can enjoy lack of sex, over abundance of lame taxes, trash wherever you go, and tax slavery to support your astronomically earning local pigs, dickstreet atwhoreknees and sold out "judges".. welcome to the fold.. now I can leave. REALLY, don't. F' this dump!)/*
I was born in Hillsboro and have fond memories of the once rural nature and open spaces between all the local cities like Beaverton,Hillsboro,Tigard.Sherwood and the Southwest Portland hills. if you're in real estate this may seem like a paradise of opportunity for you. There was maybe one traffic light between Hillsboro and Beaverton when I was a very young lad and we would build hay forts behind Sunset Valley School (now a Home Depot). If noise and traffic and high home prices are your thing then yes this is the place to be. Don't blink because the old neighborhoods are giving way to cookie cutter houses and tri-level apartment complexes crammed together. I thank myself everyday for having the good sense to move outside of McMinnville on a few acres looking out on Mt.Hood on the occasional clear morning.
Both cities are nice...but if you can afford just a smidge more, there are better options for schools in basically the same area. Using the same roads, stores and entertainment. If I were to start all over again, I would look at Sherwood. I moved here 20 years ago. Unfortunately, a lot of the small town feel has been beat out of most of these areas. There are a few actual small towns left, but you'll probably need to be empty nesters or a bit older to enjoy them.
Both areas are nice and it doesn't really matter much except for maybe where is the thing you live in that you can actually afford, and how do you get to work. It's all expensive now (cue theme from "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous").
I live in downtown Hillsboro... I cannot believe how expensive it is for housing. Beaverton has less homeless then we do. Because the county jail is here. A lot of illegal immigrants and I wouldn't mind except they have victimized the hell out of my neighborhood and myself. Zero accountability people. Sanctuary cities do no good for anyone but criminals! Also the cops do not protect the citizens from homeless trespassers at times it's just horrible. But it's better then downtown Portland... If you come here you'll need money and you need to protect your vehicles and fence your property... Your own driveway is not secure. You'll want a car parked in your garage.. Trust me. Just look at the crime report data...
Thats in every city on the West Coast. I live in L.A. and it's like Gotham City out here with no Batman. I am sure its not as bad as you are making it out to be.
@@Betamax84 actually it is that bad. I've been hit but 2 illegal aliens that fled the scene, had my two cars parked in my driveway, totalled by an illegal immigrant who would have fled the scene if his van wasn't stuck. But he didn't even show up for court either. Nothing bad happened to him, except his pos van was towed after he ruined my two cars. And a month ago a j walking illegal ran right Infront of my car while looking the wrong way. I slammed on my breaks screaming and still hit him slightly, and it was his head hitting the asphalt that knocked him unconscious for twenty seconds as I scrambled out of my car to protect him from oncoming traffic. Thankfully he had no other injuries besides a scrape on the head and a concussion...but the lack of knowledge on the rules and laws here is getting exhausting and dangerous. And if you think I haven't been chased while I was on foot by Spanish speaking men, who talk to me like I'm an object, then you'd be very wrong. The culture is different here in the USA, and any woman around here, knows exactly what I'm talking about. It's the only thing besides housing cost that I hate about my city. And that's why I've moved
Thanks for these videos I’m new to the area and need guides like this

Good job with the thoughtful video 🎥

Thinking about moving to Portland and your videos have been so helpful - thank you! I will reach out via email as well
