      Have faith in your team. You'll win more by doing that then bitching at them. Like idk what it is about this game but everyone thinks they are the most important player, but there are six of you. You need to stop and figure out who truly is the most important player and if it's not you, figure out how you can make their job easier. Is your ana getting huge antis every fight and has godly aim but their tracer is being a pest? Switch to counter the tracer for her. Is your widow popping off all game except when she's in spawn can of Winston? Go dva to peel for her. Healing is weird in Bronze, but I won't say it's Bronze specific. In all ranks, healing either exists or doesn't, it all depends on the healers, how much pressure they're receiving without getting some peel, and who's taking the most damage thus drawing their attention.
      But anyone saying they're getting no healing is either feeding too much, or expecting heals to beat out damage. Because saying healing is non-existent is false, when I say there's non-existent healing, I mean it's weak healing, like a team running Zen/Lucio.

    what is most frustrating to me about this vod is the lack of conscious, intentional action. Flats mentions this, but it deserves to be said again. if someone makes a mistake, if they go on a flank when it wasn't needed, if they feed, that's a mistake and mistakes are fixable. you have to make mistakes when you're learning because you have to try things and fail. failure is when learning happens because you learn why you failed and ideally learn what you need to do.
    but it's like this person doesn't even do anything. it doesn't look like they're making active decisions. they never move their camera like they're taking in information and making a decision intentionally. I don't care if they would make the wrong decision because we all make wrong decisions and there's nothing inherently wrong with that. but they're just not doing anything. they're just pressing buttons and expecting something to happen magically, instead of looking at what's going on and deciding to do something about it. there's no indication that they're having the thought process of, "the enemy has a bastion, bastion will shred my shield, I need to do something to prevent this bastion from just killing me."
    and it's like this person has no idea they have teammates. I don't necessarily blame someone for not understanding they're getting healed because sometimes it's hard to tell when you're overwhelmed and there's so much going on. but like, dude, if you have 100 HP and your shield is broken, you don't go in. duck behind some cover and glance around for your supports, make eye contact, wait for healing or fall back.
    it feels like this person is completely new to the game and has absolutely no idea what's going on around them. they're just not doing anything. they don't press W unless they have 100hp and their shield has 200hp. they don't shield for their teammates -- I'm like silver in tank and even I know the shield on rein isn't just to keep rein alive, it's a shield, you use it for DPS and to shield rezzes and to shield for your team as y'all cross open space, etc -- they just don't do anything. they never make a decision.
    god it's so frustrating to watch

    As a Rein in gold, I can say that if he was in gold, he would get flattened, he has dropped down to the actual rank he deserves but there is no reason why he cannot improve and climb up higher - if he is willing to put in the time and learn the game. Work on adjusting your sensitivity till it feels right, depending on your mouse pad it could be higher or lower but in the end of the day it should be something that you can control and not the other way around and try to learn basic stuff like pathing.

Try seeing what you can get away with and still live by getting more aggressive in your games (play qp if you're afraid of losing sr while experimenting). Open areas are better against junk. This game is everything why gold is the real elo hell. 75% of people there aren’t actually gold, they’re either plat+ or silver-. And the problem is they counter each other and there’s just a ton of people who shouldn’t be there for opposite reasons. I managed to climb out of bronze hell after about 2 seasons when I first started. I was stuck in gold for something like 15 or more seasons before finally breaking solidly into plat as tank/support.

  • @Real_MisterSir
    @Real_MisterSir 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    What I truly don't get, is how this guy can be silver border and still struggle with mechanics as if he jsut got his first pc a month ago. Dude's pumped 1000s of hours to get that high level, and still is clearly struggling with Rein and says Sigma is a comfort pick. So if those are the only two noteworthy tanks he plays, wtf has he spent all his time on? Being afk in custom games?? Like, legit I can't handle it. I straight up refuse to believe one can be this mechanically inept at a hero like Reinhardt, while also struggling with core elements of the game itself.
    My only other explanation would be that he only plays when he's high - and to reach that level of playtime hours while high he'd be smoking more than bloody Snoop Dogg.
    Add on top of this not just his lack of gamesense, but rather his direct negative amount of gamesense. Accusing bronze of not having heals? It's probably the rank with most healing per game, tf is he on about?? In other ranks supports tend to learn that there is more to their job than healing, but in Bronze - especially as tank, you are gonna have a heal gun stuck up your ass guaranteed. This match was a perfect proof of it too. Dude literally couldn't feed harder while playing so passively, and still his supports managed to keep his ass alive through a shitshow like none I've seen in a long time.
    As cherry on top, he has at some point apparently been in gold/plat??? The actual fuck.
    Ok here is my csi take with the info we have available:
    The dude got his account very early in OW, and initially placed around 2500. Back then no one knew shit about the game, and you could literally place anywhere based completely on luck, and probably stay there for a season or two.
    He probably played a lot at first, but treated comp more or less like quickplay - aka not trying to learn or improve but rather just mindlessly play the same maps on repeat. So over the coming seasons, the general playerbase improves slowly but steadily, while he still treats comp like quickplay and doesn't learn, doesn't try to improve, doesn't try to limit test. Just plays in his absolute comfort zone. So he doesn't increase his skill/gamesense compared to the other players in his rank, thus he slowly starts a decline in sr. Maybe he even took time off because he saw his sr going downwards. When he got back into the game and started putting more hours into the game again, the playerbase had moved so far ahead, that he fell into a deep spiral of sr loss, plummeting all the way down to low silver. Here he stays for a bit due to rng and no one knowing how to tank at all, but eventually his lack in skill and gamesense surely takes him into Bronze, where he now sits and flips a coin every match to see if it will be a win or a loss - depending on how much his team can carry him and create the space that he won't fight for himself.
    Ok csi thesis over.

      @Real_MisterSir 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@studiosoundguy from the few bronzes I've coached that does seem to be the case. Typically in higher elos what changes is that supports get more frequently challenged by enemy dps and have less time to focus on just raw heals on their main tank as a result (also tanks tend to take damage faster in higher elo so there are more cases where they end up dying before supports can heal them back up), but that's not very common to see dps do consistently in bronze

      @@janow1689 silver border is definitely in the 1k realm, back when I personally reached silver border I had 350 hours on Pharah alone (and many 100 hours on other heroes). And I play a lot with friends which even boosts xp gain. And regardless, 600 hours for a casual-ish player is still a lot of playtime, more than enough to get past the fundamentals of the game. Again, refer to my original comment as to my predictions: big breaks, very casual mindset, xp-intensive custom games, and most likely an extremely relaxed approach to improving at the game (aka "I just come home after school/work to play matches and relax and not think too much")

    • @janow1689
      @janow1689 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Real_MisterSir its really not subjective, every border is 600 levels, every hour of playtime equates to roughly 1.0-1.1 levels of competitive play, if u factor in the first 20 levels of the acc before levelling doesn't scale ur around 550-600 hours at a fresh Silver border, variables such as playtime per match (1second equates to 1 exp) or medals (1goldmedal gives u 80 exp) or first win of the day (1500 exp) play a diminishing role, because the matchmaker aims for a 50% win rate of every player. So silver border isn't in the 1k realm no matter how u put it. I have over 3k hours in this game, one of my accounts Is currently at level 646 (fresh Silver border) and has 518 hours played on it (317 hours competitive, 161 quick play and 39 hours arcade). So it's not near 1k hours no matter what he played🙂

He has zero aggression because his homies are his aggression. He shields whenever there is a fight as a distraction and his homies do damage in circles around him. That may be fine and chip in QP matches but now he's caught completely unprepared to fulfill his role in solo queue. He's a shield bot that's never with his support or objective. Daaaamn, hope he figures it out.

I've had more organized players in silver (surprisingly many used voice chat, planned ult usage and made shotcalls) than in plat which is odd.

    Yeah no, just watching them walk out of spawn at the beginning told me they were not actually a gold player. It's something about the way higher Rein's walk, like they have this aura of confidence about them. This guy looked like he was strolling into a bar or something, looking for the bathroom, idk, but he definitely didn't look like he was gearing for a fight. Maybe it's just me who notices these things.
    The Roadhog was definitely doing leagues better than our Rein here, wouldn't have really guessed the Hog was a Bronze unless I watched them closely.
    I myself am more of a Zarya/D.Va player, not anywhere near the best with Rein, but when the team needs a shield and the other tank is either being stubborn or can't afford to trade off, I yield and go to Rein or Sigma. When I must be Rein, I fall back to some of the things I've seen you do (meaning I learned what I have from you), Flats, doesn't always guarantee a win, but it gets the job done so it is what it is. (I am a high plat to mid Diamond Tank player)

    Just imagine watching where this rein moves through the map from an overhead view. He's playing left side, right side, high ground, low ground, circling through buildings (sometimes twice or more). He just looks so lost. Im surprised his team didn't just tell him to go orisa so he has to pick a spot to play from.
