Where can I find this mercy? I need this mercy in every game with me omg.....
At 6:56 they didn't actually mean to stand still for too long, they attempt to super jump off the Moira that was earth shattered, but the Moira fades and Mercy loses their GA target. You can tell because the Mercy crouches right before the Moira uses fade. So they didn't intentionally stand still there for too long, they just expected to initiate the GA. Sucks because it might have actually saved them from death in that exchange.
Happens when using Reaper for SJ too if he teleports.

Tbh that mei was the only one doing work even before they started playing mei. The other dps was having an identity crisis and the tanks were switching between super passive and 100% feed mode healing wouldn't have helped them win but the devil would.
Often times if I have two dead I rezz the one can help win the fight. Mei or Ana? Well the Ana wasn’t nading the enemy tanks and heals wasn’t really the issue so yeah that’s how us Mercy’s think when there’s more than one person to rez. If it’s three or more I don’t unless it’s overtime. Then you rez the stall character and keep them alive till team gets back. It’s a trial and error lifestyle. Takes us some time to realise who considering all the circumstances

God as a Mercy main this is vindication. The amount of times I’ve just said fuck it and gone dps Moira or Ana because I’m so done with slow Winston deaths or no peeling but insisting I go heal our tracer in the fucking enemy backlines is insane. Yes pull out your pistol and get to work, if team isnt gonna help you it’s time to battlemercy.
One of my favorite moments as mercy was our McCree actually trying to protect the supports from the tracer hard focusing me and our Ana, who actually left after getting rolled three times in a row since they kept getting flashed.
Ive had to go behind the enemy lines myself to take widowmakers. As my team was getting sniped and i just got pissed off that no one was going after her.

A DPS actually protecting their supports? Nah, that must have been a dream. Everyone knows that in Overwatch, to main DPS, the rules are to always get yourself into places your supports cannot get to, die, then scream at your supports.

This is the life of a healer. So many times I'll be healing someone so they can win a fight but they can't seem to finish the enemy off so I'll switch to DPSing so they stop taking damage then heal them up. Then get flamed by someone playing respawn simulator that watched just those two seconds and tell me to stop DPSing.

As a Mercy main 1) these revenge kills make me so happy. The epitome of "fine, I'll do it myself" that all of us wish we could get away with without getting yelled at by a feeder for not healing them.
2) she seems like she belongs in a way higher elo. I didn't get my super jump down until I hit plat, but she's consistently getting it down in silver. If she played a different hero, she might rank up a lot faster because Mercy is super reliant on her teams performance to go up.
With some improved game sense on keeping track of where her enemies are, she absolutely feels like she could hit high plat/diamond.
I know what you mean. This mercy could easily get into higher elo with better positioning and heal management. I'm high gold as mercy and I still don't know how to super jump reliably. This guy could definitely go higher
@@austinmoe4865 super jump =/= higher rank. It's good but also easy to get into habitually using it even when you shouldn't. Her movement when doing boosts is what needs work. I will say though her use of the comrades on different roofs to guardian angel up and kill the soldier THEN REZ Bastion and go back in was so clean.
@@kaylievinchenstein9987 I came here to say that about the good use of GA on the roof too. As a Mercy healer main, I was cracking up with laughter at the enemies dying at the hands of a Mercy 🤣 I haven't gotten a kill count of 30 with her, even in Total Mayhem 🤣
Like a lot of people, my super jump isn't 100% reliable (I'm a PS4 player), but it's just so good to see a Mercy get some, instead of resigning to "Guess I'll die...again."

That Winston was straight up focusing Ariana. As a Mercy main who peaked at 2400 last season but now sits at 1800, I WISH my aim were this good!

@@bearoqueiro8905 I realized that I just can't play Mercy in silver unless I can count on my team. If the team dynamic is sketchy, I go with Lucio or Moira so I can at least stay alive long enough to heal!

Love it, the support this team needed - that moira was utterly useless.
Without tarring all of them with the same brush, most Moiras I've encountered, both as enemies and as a healer in the team I'm in, dps waaay too much. That and they assume the other is okay at all times. I'm not a good Moira, but I'll still heal the other in the team. It makes it way easier for you in the long run.

Few things are more satisfying than a Mercy player who call themself a DPS Mercy yet 1) do a very reasonable amount of healing and 2) is in a team with a clear DPS Moira who doesn't give a damn about their other support.

Considering how many times in lower elos people put the blame on supports (even though the rest of the team is feeding their brains out), I'm not really surprised that this Mercy decided take matters into her own hands. And boy, does it feel good when you glock someone and everyone can see in the kill feed (plus I love Mercy's voice lines when she gets a kill)
She has some amazing voice lines for sure!

something I love about flats is how much respect he has for support players and how genuine that respect is. it's a real sign of maturity, which is sadly rare in the overwatch community, and it's honestly also just a sign that he understands the game and the role that other heroes play.
and tbh I feel like there's also a hint of solidarity lol my overall impression has been that tanks and supports get blamed the most, and I don't mean that in a sense like "dps are the only whiners and they blame supports and tanks" because I've seen some really stupid supports blame tanks and really braindead tanks blame supports. and this isn't to say that dps don't get unfairly blamed sometimes too.
I just mean that on the whole, it seems to me like tanks and supports get blamed the most, regardless of who is doing the blaming. and I feel like, most of the time, tanks and supports look out for each other the most. I'm in mid/high plat as a support -- or at least I was when I was playing comp consistently, I've basically only done my placements for the last few seasons because Life™️ -- and most of the time, when someone is peeling for me, it's usually my other support or a tank, and when it's a tank, a lot of times it's a Reinhardt. just today in fact a blading Genji cornered me when I was playing mercy and Rein was the one who came to help.
so idk, I just really love it when flats models respect for the other roles for his audience.

5:23 I wish more people understood this. There are many times where I'm the last survivor as mercy & get flamed because of it because some people believe that its because I wasn't doing enough.
That inspired me to try bringing back the mercy I once was. Have been away from the overwatch scene for 3 years, trying to come back in overwatch 2... Hope this video stays around to inspire mercy players, to show that they too can be a threat! I'm glad I found your channel Flats!

Mercies in silver can actually be like this, difference is usually in low elos good games are inconsistent, or theyve been low elo a long time and dont have the time to climb. Also like flats said, pretty much the most important thing for a mercy to do is survive, which they're still getting a hang of and it changes as elo rises. Just cause someone has brain cells doesnt mean they cant be stuck in low elo

I think this seems like a plat/diamond smurf. Maybe a bit more so plat. Just because there were a few questionable movement moments. But I think the aim and the use of dmg boost is actually quite impressive. As well as target priority. Really well done. Definitely not bronze

@@realtalk13 super jumping is not that hard once you learn how to do it lol. it's tough to get the trick of it at first, but once you learn, it's really easy. it's like any more "advanced" tech. lower ranked players can pick up certain things from TH-cam and twitch, no matter what role they play. that doesn't mean they're a smurf lol
I think about it like turning your camera for Rein's swing or knowing doomfish rollouts. those are tricks anyone can learn. the difference between a highly ranked player and a lower ranked player is mostly just game sense.
@@sethescope you're right anyone can learn, but its the number of jumps + intentionality of use thats the give away. Doing a few random ones in a game is mildly suss but not the end all be all. Doing two to intentionally 1v1 a soldier off the high ground? That's not bronze level thinking or playing

Honestly, with mercy I could believe either way. A smurf is totally believable. But the mercy climb is steep and honestly I could see someone easily getting stuck like this
Rezing around corners, paying attention to the team, uses blue beam, can superjump, has good aim. Definitely not a bronze mercy. I think its a plat thats smurfing in bronze.

As a sidenote, it might be fun if you host an event specifically for players in bronze/silver players. Though at the same time difficult to wade through if players are genuine and aren't just alt accounts (though you can't easily fake a few seasons of comp just for 1 event)

When I was silver on support this is what games were like, there would just be a Winston on my ass and literally no one would care, it's still like that in gold, but occasionally a teammate will peel for me
With mercy it’s constantly looking around and using your ears. Winston just jumped but you don’t see him? Move away by super jumping and move before he drops. Hear a platform move? Sombra drop her translocator? Use your brain and turn it on. Fly around, you GA is 2 seconds for a reason!!!! Play corners , you beam reaches 10mm and 1.3sec out of Los. Hope some of this helps
@@Cuddlingus I don't play mercy much, which is why I don't really have it in my head to GA away from threats, but I'm talking about when I play ana or zen, there's always a tracer or a genji or monkey on me so I just switch to moira
If your team isn’t helping you, literally just play Moira or brig.
With Ana and zen, keep an eye on flanks and don’t hard scope, learn to quick scope. As well as, with tracer play on high ground, it makes it harder for her to comit into you. As well as play back but not too far. Because when they dive you, you want to move into ur tanks and RUN AROUND THEM. Because they may body block some shots :)

High level Mercy players get to an insane level, they play a whole different game
Mercy is just hard to get out of bronze with, I've seen so many great mercys stuck in low elo when they should at least be gold or even plat with some really good ones.
yes it seems sometime mercy has to do all herself go solo to point when tanks are just standing still or fly there with her ult since the match are going nowhere
I've had 2 account given to me that were bronze. Boosting feels useless tbh, unless your team is using an ult like Death Blossom or Rocket barrage... Easiest way to climb from bronze is learning how to aim and when to get your pistol out and solo carry
As Mercy the game punishes you for losses harder than it rewards you for wins. To climb as Mercy you have to play as Lucio.
