Life may not be perfect, but you do sound better and that makes my heart happy. My grandmother used to say that if you could hear a clock tick in the house, it meant there was love there. I think it was her way of saying that everybody was not yelling, and there was a quietness in the house. We still have Denny’s and I live in the north east of United States. And for me breakfast is pretty much savory unless it’s a holiday then it tends to be on the sweet side wishing you were beautiful day.
We call our sofa naps 'checking for pinholes'.
I'll ask,'Are you asleep?' No, just checking for pinhole.
Katherine I do enjoy your videos also keep on wittering and also enjoy the ticking of the clock when I go to bed.😊😊

Thanks for another great stitching project, my Mother- in- law was born in Lincolnshire she made the most delicious rhubarb and strawberry crumble. We have crumble home made.

Glad FredFred is settling in well. I like watching or listening to Wendy too. And we have crumble here in Australia. I make mine with some oats too which is probably some kind of sacrilege😆 And now you’re confessing to your breakfast crumble and I am guffawing as I have done that too. As to confession worthy breakfast things, I love a huge dollop of Brandy Christmas cream in my coffee the morning after Christmas Day. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡

My pull was red. I had just enough variety to make my collage pleasing so far. :-) And Re: your marvelous wittering: It's called crumble here in my part of Canada, and having heard you mention it, I might have to make one this week. My partner will thank you. 🙂 I hope you get to see Stella's twin again; fun stuff. Also, one of the things I really like about aging is that I also care so very little what people think of me now; if I'm kind and wrinkly, that's not a bad combination. Cheers for a good week!
I love green and orange - so really should be fonder of purple than I am…never been that keen on the primary colours. Do so love the sound of a clock ticking. My grandparents clock needs attention; it too sounds on the quarter hour when it’s working.
1st off, I love chocolate, anytime. 😂 Try strawberry short cake for breakfast. Yum We do have pie, cobbler and crumbles here in the U S. You wont offend us. We are all friends here❤ glad Fredfred is home and settling in
You mentioned you want to do a rooftop curtain. This quote from Loretta Pettway Bennett from Gees Bend spoke to me and may to you. “My mother, her mother and my aunts have sewn the foundation. All I have to do is thread the needle.”
We had a cat and a grand piano. He learned that if he jumped from the top of the piano onto the keys at about 4am someone would get up and let him out. They are clever beasties and good at training humans.
To be honest….i could have Apple crumble (or the Dutch equivalent ‘Appel kruimel vlaai’) for breakfast, lunch And dinner. I don’t but i could😊 And another thing: my first love was absolutely paper, ever since i was a child. I had only just started stitching a little bit and then you came along. And that was it! Now I still love paper very much but I can not do without stitching. It has become a bit of a necessity for me in many ways so I really miss it and hope I can get back to it soon. We have apple crumble in Australia, I sometimes add oats to mine, and always use brown sugar.
I like bacon, fried banana and strawberries on my pancakes, with a dash of maple syrup, I enjoy sweet and savoury together. Think I will have to make a crumble soon, my husband will enjoy it.
We have a family tradition of ice cream cake for breakfast on birthdays!

Apple crisp is is similar to your apple crumble. We make it with oatmeal .
I do exactly the same with Musli in my crumbles. I do however prefer apple pie or stewed fruit with musli and yogurt. I’m with you … breakfast lunch and dinner/ tea
I love purple. One of my ancestors was the guy who first discovered a man made purple dye - Sir William Henry Perkin. :). I had to laugh when you said you had crumpets and honey for breakfast - I was eating exactly that 😊❤

As children, my brother and I would never eat breakfast. She resorted to beanie weenies to get a few bites into us. As a result, I eat any food I want regardless of the time of day. But I am mourning the pasting of cantaloupe and fig season.

Deceased husband liked peanut butter, sugar on his pancakes.

No one remembers South Africa when listing countries. I’m from South Africa and yes we have crumble
- Apple, rhubarb, berries, gooseberries, peaches, apricots anything.
What you call crumble, we call crisp in the US. I like to add chopped walnuts to the topping.
My sister is a Kathryn so it seems the right way to me, ask I am a JaYne. Guess my parents like Y’s! When I see the name Jane, it doesn’t really register to me as my name. Funny you discussed apples. My latest craving is homemade chunky applesauce. Love it with the skins on . Add a touch of water and cinnamon and cook stovetop until soft. Then I make a delicious dessert with sugar free whip cream and walnuts.

If I'm having a bacon sandwich for breakfast it would be on toast with butter. But for lunch, a BLT (bacon, lettuce, and tomato) would get mayo. I have never heard of putting brown or red sauce on a bacon sandwich. 😄 (in the U.S.)
My daughter loved crumble for breakfast, always very disappointed when there were no leftovers 😂 I add porridge oats and coconut to mine and use demerara sugar to make the topping more crunchy. Glad Fred Fred is settling in 🤗x

I remember you "fined" me a million pounds for leaving my rotary cutter open 🤣 I have a lovely crumble recipe using butter, sugar, flour, oats and flaked almonds with almond and vanilla essences, making like a granola which is definitely a breakfast food 😁

Reclaimed wood boxes are expensive and difficult to get hold of. Good luck . I’ve been looking for an ages at a price I can afford.
I got the cheese boxes, I think they are great. They were £7 each from a farmer nearby, they were advertised on Facebook marketplace. They were indeed the cheapest of the kind. They are smaller than the apple crates, about 12" wide x 15" long by 8" deep but solid and sturdy with beautiful labels and printing on. I will show them when I have given them a clean and put them up. 🥰

Agree wholeheartedly. 🤣🤣🤣 But I cannot agree about thread - I love pearl cotton and hate stranded floss with a passion, because however carefully I use it, the strands tie themselves in knots, become different lengths, and generally drive me potty! So many questions today! Brown sauce on bacon butties, pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon, marmite on crumpets and fried eggs with full English unless there's black pudding when soft poached is better. I spent 10 years in the Philippines where we eat the same food at any time of the day so my breakfast this morning was curry and rice. Maybe not a cooking channel so much as an eating channel!😂

Breakfast! Should have had a 'virtuous' breakfast of boiled egg and soldiers. But I need cheering up, so I had a sweet breakfast of French Toast. All the same ingredients, but such a different mood evolved.

Yes I love your voice too. It's very warm and friendly. Sometimes I like purple and at other times I am not sure. I love the little batik spirals in your piece. I have watched Wendy for probably about 5 years or so now when she was still living in the van. They are living near to Glastonbury. I loved it when I visited there in 1994. Gosh 30 years ago.! ❤ My guess is that you are feeling a little like a stranger in a strange land. I use to think " is this where I am meant to be? And that " What's it all about Alfie feeling. My son came and charged my car battery today and spent the evening with me. How lovely it was to sit by my fire with a loved one. I think when your friends visit you will feel more and more at home. I think sometimes we block ourselves because sometimes we need to be disquieted and not deflect into comfort . Perhaps there is a wise unconscious self that knows this.
I was really happy today because Mr and Mrs Backyard Blackbirds are refurbishing last years nest at my back door in the bougainvillea vine. Last year, they raised two babies. Happy equinox. ❤ Yes we have crumble in Aotearoa. My boys loved rhubarb crumble and sometimes black berry crumble.
Hello Jan, I guessed she was somewhere near Glastonbury because I recognise the roads sometimes when she films in the car and I think she has filmed in the town a couple of times. I love Glastonbury, I am about an hour away. And yes, feeling a little like a stranger in my own life now and then but I keep moving forward and doing things and it's lovely to have friends coming round. I will be ok. It's lovely about the blackbirds, little things like that bring the joy to life. ♥️
I met a young teenager boy who was with his family on holiday from Israel in a country pub years ago . we sat and chatted with him and the subject of breakfast came up. He couldn’t get his head around that we don’t eat “ dinner “ peas meat and so on for breakfast. Why do we only eat certain foods at certain times of day. He was horrified by what was offered for breakfast. Which would have been choice of a full English or continental

Oh yes, battery clocks can be very ticky. Someone bought my son one with an owl on it and its eyes moved in time with the ticking. It was really freaky and he wouldn't have it in his room. 🙄😂😁

Oh and chocolate before breakfast……My sister and I used to get a giant tube of smarties each in our Christmas stockings and we would open them very early in the morning and start eating them while still in bed! I saved the orange ones til last as they were my favourites.
