    Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I'm also at the 6 month mark after my TFCC surgery, and still dealing with pain--made me nervous, but you're bringing me a lot of comfort during my healing process. Thank you!!

    This is so very helpful… I am four months post and truly have moments of crying about pain and feeling of injury. I’m a musician (pianist)
    To me, it feels like I broke it two weeks ago but yes nerve pain and I definitely can’t throw a ball or ride a bike or scooter.
    Was there a big change between five and six months?

    • @lukerivas5864
      @lukerivas5864  ปีที่แล้ว

      between 5 and 6 months were basically when I began being weaned off of physical therapy and the exercises they prescribed to me. I really began feeling more normal around 9-ish months later. Still, if I carry heavy stuff on the surgery side, it might get kind of sore

    Hi Luke. I really appreciate your videos. It's giving me hope. I am alone 6 weeks post op. If I may ask, what is your job now and are you able to do it without any problems? And do you think that I will be able to return to my job as a gas station attendant? (moderate type of work).

    Hey Luke, thanks for the series, it's helpful. There's a lot of negative information I've stumbled on in various Facebook groups and forums regarding these surgeries, but yours seems to have turned out pretty well. How severe/debilitating was your pain before making the decision to undergo surgery, and did you talk to multiple surgeons? What feedback did they give you regarding success rates and how many they had performed?
    I'm going on 9 months now since injury and my symptoms are pretty mild; achiness/soreness with weight bearing and I have mild subluxation/dislocation of the ECU tendon on my pinky side, which may or may not be an issue that needs fixing regardless. It's a hard choice, whether to keep going conservative or just take the plunge and try to get this fixed...

    Hello Luke,
    I made the surgery 4 and half month ago! I still face pain when twisting (and some times i hear some clicks during exercise. Did you face such at this stage? I'm really worry about that!

      I was still in pain when lifting things too heavy. Don't push yourself too hard; I was not even exercising at that point - apart from PT regimen. Speak with your surgeon and make sure to follow your PT's directions. Wishing you a speedy recovery

    Hello Emilio I’m 16 and I’ve had a tfcc tear for 4 months i barely went to the doctor about a month ago and they put a cast on. It still hurts and the next step may be surgery if i want to play high school baseball again since it hurts to play and that’s how I hurt it. What do you recommend I do?

    • @lukerivas5864
      @lukerivas5864  ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend you see a hand specialist and get an MRI on your wrist and get their opinion. Spinning my wheels with my primary care provider and months and months of physical therapy and cortizone shots cost me a lot of time. This surgery takes a really long time to totally recover from. I'm about 48 hours from 1 year since surgery and it's still just about 90% normal. Best of luck
