You make it look so easy! How long would it take unedited? Half hour each wheel? I found a great price for hubs and rotors at Detroit Axle.

Make sure you reset your codes if this is due to a bad or chipped wheel bearing magnet. ABS and Stabillitrack codes. Wheel speed sensor reads the wheel bearing. That's the main reason for replacement. I've had to do it on mine twice.

Good video. Easy to understand and follow along. That hub came off easy. Wish they were all like that. Thanks

I really really like your videos. I have only one suggestion: can you list the socket sizes and torque specs in your comments to your videos? I used your videos to change a timing belt and water pump on my wife's sonic a month ago. I had to fly to where the car was and I had to only bring the tools I needed. Unfortunately, you missed one and I had to walk to the hardware store to get it because by the time I got to it, the car was completely apart. Those instructors were otherwise spot on. Just a recipe list in the comments would make these videos perfect! 😊 Thanks again.

Again how is it the axle is not blocking the bolts like it is on my 2008. Did they change it in later years because the video shows the axle boot not blocking the bolts and that's just not the case. You have to push the axle back enough to get clearance to put a ratchet squarely on the bolts.

Thank you for saying the torques, I saved some time.

What if your front bearings do not have axle nuts holding them on?? And are instead bolted on to the knuckle??? I currently need to replace my front bearings.

Great video! Thank you for the detailed demonstration. Although, according to the Workshop Manual, a NEW axle nut (or wheel drive shaft retaining nut) is supposed to be used.
The brake rotor reinstalled at the end is different from the original one removed, LOL.

So I just replaced the front hubs along with upper control arms, lower control arms, ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, and stabilizer links on my 2013 rwd coupe. Removal and install went perfect. Unfortunately now I have a noise that sounds like the rotor is scraping the brake pads while I’m driving and the traction control light intermittently comes on and the car starts braking while under acceleration. I figure it has something to do with the wheel speed sensors but everything was fine before the hub replacement. No codes were present before or after the job. This was a preventative replacement since the car is 9 years old and has almost 200k miles on it. The hubs are MOOGs so they’re not some cheap Chinese part. What do I have to do to fix this problem?

Are the 2wd and awd hub bearing the same? I need to purchase both fronts but the sire doesn't have an awd option for my base cts awd. Just cts option

Are we SURE this is a 36mm nut? I looked at a replacement nut and it says it's 34mm. I want to order it beforehand. Any help please. Now I see another guy says its 35mm? I need to do the front Left axil, is there a nut on the front?

You may want to use a puller if the cv axlle is really stuck inside the bearing. I was an idiot and wailed on it to get it off, and have to pop the cv axle back into the trans

i am in the process of trying to remove a wheel bearing from my 2013 cts and i cannot remove it. ive tried a plethora tools to remove it from: hammer and chisel, hitting the back of the bearing, pushing the axel in and using a device to grip the edges of the bearing. i do not want to take it to a shop i would rather do it myself. any other tips would be greatly appreciated

The hub is held in by 3 bolts on the back side of the knuckle (I wanna say 13mm). Loosen the bolts and the hub and dust shield will come off.

Do you grease where the cv axle goes into the wheel bearing?

I always do. Just a thin layer to aid in replacing parts and making sure nothing binds.

Would this be about the same as doing the rear Hub assembly on the 2010 cts? Can you do a vid on the rear?

It just took me all day to realize why the last time i did this job, i didnt need a 36 MM axle nut socket. its because this car is rear wheel drive, and the axles are in the REAR. When i did this job, i was doing the FRONT. there are no axles in the front.
