Jokes aside these are the sickest composition skills I've ever encountered. True genius. No wonder when he and David Lynch sat together a masterpiece named Twin Peaks got created.
Yeah I would have figured it was more purposeful and nerdy and dry music-theory kind of composition but I guess he's on a level where that's baked in naturally. Also it's funny that David said "That's Twin Peaks" because that sad-then-bright-then-sad is sort of the way you feel across it.
You can clearly see that he is telling the words in the exact same way that Lynch spoke it to him. He's so to say back in that moment. It's coming from his own audiovisual "memory", like it would come from an audio recorder.
I love how this song represents the duality of Laura. In the begining we can feel the mood of Laura in the woods at night and perceive the darkness from her soul, later we get closer to the climax and we understand where all the pain and sorrow comes from, then the climax resolves beautifully, just like Laura, because after all she was just a beautiful girl whose life was tacken away.
My favorite video in the entire world. I've always been scared of this day coming, now it's here. May he rest in peace and may his music live on forever.
Rest in Peace Angelo. Your music was the perfect soundtrack for David's brilliant ideas. You will be missed, one of the most underrated composers of our time ❤️

It's 8:35 in the morning on December 23, 2022. The sky is blue and the sun is slowly rising over a Norwegian winter landscape. And here I am, down with the flu, balling my eyes out listening to this. My wife introduced me to Twin Peaks, and we have a tradition of rewatching it every year now. For those that haven't watched it yet, or for those who are rewatching it, make sure to stay extra present during "episode 14" (Lonely Souls) - I think this is the single most powerful TV experience I've had.
This masterpiece tells the whole story itself. The moment it would play on the show, an image of Laura would come to your mind and make you feel both terrified and sad but at the same time kind of hopeful. This sort of feeling that made you wish the horror you/she witnessed was just a dark nightmare.
Angelo's storytelling hability is as impressive as his composition skills, because obviously this didn't happen in 4 plus minutes, but he sums it in a fascinating matter for the video purpose.
Personally, I won't be surprised if it did happen in that span of time. What people don't usually see is the decades of education and experience behind those four minutes.
@@Jeleorexactly and the fact Angelo wanted to work on it more supports his story that this is really how it happened. Of course he would want to make changes and flesh it out. Especially when working within a production schedule. Its perfect. Leaves you wanting more.
The music is amazing, but what gets me each time is the way Angelo describes David talking. The way he talks -- his phrasing and cadence -- really resembles the conversation style he wrote for some of his characters. I just keep hearing Gordon...
