I'm more of a 2D Beat em up, Side Scroller or RPG guy. But good work on this vid. I never got a newer console after GameCube so its nice to see what came after

Reviewers clearly don't know a good football game, Fifa is on here a lot but PES is way better, i think Fifa only got the better reviews because of the licenses they have which is sad, they aren't being reviewed on the actual game alone.

Interesting going through this video of PS3 games -- when you see them all at once, there definitely is a "look" to 7th gen games that a lot of them share. Some really fun, immersive games on here ... I'm sure some people will be looking for tips on digital games to buy before the PS3 store closes this summer. As a retro fan, I understand that the gaming world is moving on, but I find that digital store closure pretty sad...
100000% agree with you on closing the digital store front being sad. Here's hoping that the small-time developers who were relying on sales through those stores will still be able to survive....
A list, "according to Metacritic" should, by definition, contain all the items on Metacritic's list. If selected titles were dropped off because of one's own personal objections and biases, then the list wouldn't be "according to Metacritic" any more.
@@budaroddy While I don't play many sports games, I've always played a lot of the soccer ones, without bias for either FIFA or PES/Winning Eleven/ISS. Back in the late 90's and early 00's, I loved the competitors too: especially Worldwide Soccer on Sega, and more arcadey ones like the Virtua Striker games, and those NeoGeo Super Sidekicks games (which I could only play in the arcade back then...) I actually love FIFA 2010 -- got it on 3 or 4 consoles, and the PSP game in particular is probably my most-played handheld sports game! To my mind, the FIFA series hit a sweet spot right around that time -- while in the decade since they've sort of spoilt the fun-factor of the game with complexifying the gameplay & adding all those ridiculous Ultimate Team-style mtx. Those recent FIFA games really seem designed for the millions of players who play FIFA as their main videogame, which is fine -- it's great that they're so good at it (you watch gameplay and some of these guys honestly look like e-sports professionals). So those guys deserve to get their complex game, but for the rest of us soccer fans the fun-factor has definitely slipped quite a bit. There are some simple indie soccer games out on PC and Switch these days -- but while they're fun for a quick game, there's not quite enough depth there. So honestly, I'd rather play FIFA 2010 or one of those late-PS2 PES/Winning Eleven games like Winning Eleven 8. Endless good times, both single-player season and versus mode!!

Most people don't realize how good these games look on PC with max graphics, some look great or at their best at 1080p but some look even better at 1440p or 4k max graphics. Rivaling PS4 by a long shot, only the PS4 pro competes some with games like bioshock or other PS4 pro enhanced remasters that were on PS3. That being said PS3 still had and still has some great graphics and games if your not a snob. Many people still play their PS3 because of backlog of used games and ps plus collection and PSN sales they took advantage of at the time and getting some trophies from that backlog can be fun.
Agreed. I am glad I am not a snob. Being able to enjoy video games no matter the platform is a great mentality to have if you consider yourself a real gamer. If a game is good enough, that's all that matters.
You are correct. Unfortunately, for games that used licensed music (like the Rock Band games), TH-cam will issue a copyright takedown strike for clips that use that music; so they have to be silenced in this video.

Metacritic doesn't take into account how games have aged. Most sports titles for example shouldn't be included in this list.
