- Been meaning to play Space Channel 5 (both the original and Part 2) for a long time and finally got around to doing so. Both games were quite the experience playing through, Part 2 being the better of the 2 in my opinion. I plan on getting a 100% view rating on every chapter (including the extras). If you haven't played this game before I'd highly recommend it. Enjoy! ^_^

The last part of this level still gives me so much anxiety that I feel like crying when the robots go "left chu left chu left chu up chu up chu right chu right chu right chu down chu down chu down chu" it's THE scariest part of this game and gives me panic attacks just thinking about it. Like there's literally a ball in throat right now and it's fear tears

Love the fact that they used Michael's same spaceship from his Scream short film. Amazing attention to detail.

I think this was the stage that directly went "This is no longer playing around". Tons and TONS of tricky timings, them altering a 'Simon Says' mid way after following it 5 times with different inputs forcing you readopt towards it, more less the "LEFT CHU LEFT CHU LEFT CHU UP CHU UP CHU RIGHT CHU RIGHT CHU RIGHT CHU DOWN CHU DOWN CHU DOWN CHU!" madness at the end is what shows that they REALLY learned from the first game to make this a far more difficult experience. Chances are one of the harder stages to 100% as well as if you miss a SINGLE timing on those dang cheerleaders you might as well just restart and do it -ALL- over again. But the MJ part is wonderful with how many callbacks towards the first game and many of his dance moves it shows off. Also the boss fight vs Purge all around is chances are one of the best themes of this game. Even without the singing attached, it's just a great 70's inspired song with those blaring trumpets and the electronic synth.
Yes, this level was definitelly to get Space Channel 5 part 1 players, this game really holds no punchs.

The shit gets real when you see that the antagonist blow up all your tv station and "killed" the boss.
The boss is like, the villain of part 1 tho
Actually in part 2 the boss is Michael Jackson.
Love this part of the game where it gets faster and harder and the story starts to unfold.

When you're descending into the core and you have to do the dance battle with Shadow/Jaguar, the several moves are actually the exact same moves you do in the first battle with him in the first game. It's a really cool little easter egg and a subtle nod to the fact that it's Jaguar under that helmet. Of course right after you beat him the model flickers and it's obvious, but if you're paying attention you can pick out the dance moves.
The fact Shadow's idle and dance animations are the same as Jaguar's, that already gives it away

@@SCHfan-jb4zo Even if you didn't play the first game first and didn't know who Jaguar is they flat out show Jaguar finding Purge's base with Purge about to do something to him, then it cuts to Shadow leading the robots in the opening cutscene of report 1 which made it even more of a giveaway he's Jaguar brainwashed. So even players that played Part 2 first would easily make a connection that Shadow is the guy with blond hair but brainwashed cuz of that one cutscene.

EDIT: Just realized the bonuses barely contribute to your viewer ranking and sometimes reduces it. Imagine only hitting those, yeesh.
Kai4life4 it's not that the lower it, it's just that with the way they're programmed to be visualized. Since the inputs are so close together, instead of doing each one separate, it'll combine the amounts together and do the entire "adding" animation over again but with the new value.
This is my favorite report in the game :) It's long but it's fun all the way through. It has so many great parts... Diamonds are forever, Rescue Squad, cheerleaders (and Blank in World 2!), saving Michael, the battle with Michael against Purge the King, Fuse's fall :(, using dance & jiggy power to power the pod, and escaping just before the explosion... it's awesome from beginning to end :) The only part that is a little dull is the first part of the boss fight before Purge and Peace Carrier fuse. That part is a little too tedious and not very challenging or interesting. But once you get to 'Playing in Reverse' it's pretty fun again. The worst part about this stage is that you'll probably play it way too many times trying to 100% because a 20-minute flawless run with quite a few little tricky parts is frustrating lol. Easy to make one mistake somewhere in there :(

It's not that much of a problem as you can restart from last checkpoint. Report 6 was harder overall because of how 1st part is hard to pull of, and you will restart a lot just to hit first 2 secrets at the start.
I am plying the game again after a long break! It is my #1 fav game and when I was younger I could never get past the end escaping the tunnels with the robots! Everything else is perfect but that! I just finally beat the third level perfectly! I still have to finish this one and the second one!
i think video games should involve more celebrities like this
But sadly it's hard to do it since getting contact with a celebrity is much harder than it sounds.

I always loved the battle against Purge when the music suddenly drops and you hear a mechanical beat, then slowly, more sounds get added and i realized: The security bots are providing a backbeat. ^_^
Then more and more employees start showing up as more vocal parts get added and the whole station comes to back you up. It's just fun to think of an entire News Station that focuses on musical reporting.

@@alleosussquirt8041 sorry for the late explanation. The robot copies were made by the final boss, Blank, in Space Channel 5 part 1. The robot copies are called Evila and they were originally intended to replace Ulala when she rebelled against her boss (Blank). But since Ulala defeated him, Fuze or Space Micheal most likely had Evila and the other robot clones reprogrammed to act as a security system.
Finally got 100% and unlocked Space Michael woo!
Fun fact, if you replay this level with the Space Michael costume he will smile during the cheerleading. :)

I think for me, playing with close eyes is easier because then I only pay attention to sounds and I'm able to replicate them properly when I'm not being distracted by moving images
Also I turn down the brightness of the screen until the cheerleader part, then I turn it on again lol
Their lefts and rights are pronounced vaguely just like The Bird Mistress's from Report 2 😐

In the first game he actually pronunces her name in the right way. I think that MJ liked to have his own pronunciation for certain words
