In retrospect, that job position is worryingly powerful. There shouldn't be someone who can act and operate outside the scope of the devs and management's accountability. Hopefully they add some checks and balances to better audit the goings-on of the job, so it doesn't take an exterior investigation to start an internal one.
There should be an anti-cheat council rather than an anti-cheat lead. That way, if one of the people with the power decides to go corrupt and benefit off his job, it would be much more likely that the others would intervene. Or the threat of peer supervision might even stop anyone from going out of line in the first place. Especially if the corrupt party is acting off the hope they get more nudes from a thot online.

This position isn't the only problem, the entire company is and always has been ran terribly. The Gowers themselves have admitted to this from back when they were in control and it has been made very apparent that Jagex never fixed it. They have a handful of competent people leftover and the rest are just cruising on their easy paychecks and messing around. Unless someone buys Jagex with the actual intention of fixing the company they will just continuously have these rogue and shady employees slowly eroding the runescape brand until it eventually just collapses. It is only a matter of time before some crazy serious issues appear due to the blatant lack of structure and accountability. Don't be surprised if we end up hearing about a Jmod nabbing customer's/employee's personal information for nefarious uses in the next couple of years.
