    You're so right.
Also, water roots are very fragile. Bad for potting.

The first baby roots are definitely brittle and easy to knock off, however, if you are careful and allow the roots to grow to a couple inches and grow lateral roots (the side fishbone looking roots) they do become much tougher and are easy to pot up. It is definitely one disadvantage to the water method.

2 years in a row, can't propagate. I tried putting directly in water and everyone of them sprouted leaves but no rooting? Any ideas? Can I transfer them to soil after the leaves come out? Ty

Water is not the best way to propagate most plants. While it can certainly happen, it doesn’t mean it’s the ideal method for quick and successful rooting. I would do the sand propagation method. You could transfer from water to that method. Check out my other videos in my profile.

Save all of your old tea. After you make tea, save the garbage which you usually throw away. Use that as the rooting medium.

    Cool.
Can it be new growth or do they need to be last year's growth?

Always use new green growth. Chances of success dwindle with older growth.
