    I'm sad that your experience has not been positive. I've seen your issues throughout your Ryker ownership experience videos. My purchase was a result of research on TH-cam, your channel and others made me want to take this journey. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTENT! I have a 2021 Rally that I purchased new 2 years ago. I also had a persistent issue that that a POS dealer failed to correct and left me twisting in the wind. Can Am customer support almost annihilated my faith in this product telling me....Sorry, there's nothing we can do for you, we can't control what our independent owned dealers do. That left me feeling completely screwed. Fortunately I found another dealer that resolved my issue. I love riding this thing, It makes me smile. I wish you good luck in the future. Safe riding my friend.

    I went from an Aspençade to a Can Am Ryker 900 ACE because of a lower back injury and pinched sciatica. After 2 years of physical therapy, I also developed vertigo. I could drive a car just fine but couldn't ride anything 2 wheels. I retired from Michigan (gloomy winter weather) to Florida (abundant, glorious sunshine). I wanted to get back to rinding again, so I went to the Can Am Course for 3 wheels and had a blast. It was so wonderful to feel a breeze on my person, my jacket flapping in the wind and the freedom of riding a bike. When I got home from the class, I bought my Can Am, used, as it was all I could afford. Thank goodness I got my sanity back. Now I am riding again. My self confidence has been restored, a smile came back on my face and I was genuinely happy and enjoying beling alive for the first time in years. My Ryker only has 5000 miles on it. I like your videos. Thanks for sharing your life experiences. Daniel

    That's tough to get to this point after all you've tried to do to make it something worth riding. You will def have a sigh of relief when it sells/trades. Good news is there are plenty of bikes/scooters in the sea. I have no desire to talk you out of this one, I've seen you ride it in this vlog & others - seems unpleasant for various reasons. Thank you for your vlogs!

      I agree I can suggest you bring the XR150L into the mix at below $3000 MSRP USA .
      In Canada got mine out the door plated for Can.$5300 .
      The seat I find very comfortably , combined with soft suspension , I like the ride . Drivers peg are very small , but cheap fix .I might have to give up the wonderful Navi 😢.

    I dont blame you for selling it. I traded mine a few months ago. Kept throwing VSS code and going into limp mode and i guess one of my rollers exploded? First time hearing about this problem. I thought i ran over something and put a hole in the housing and got me in my ankle. Was out for a few days from work. I traded it for a Cfmoto 450ss. Love this bike. Glad i did it.

    I got to admit I got a 2022 sport after seeing all the Rykers video's. I got 3000 so far on it and know on wood only problem I had with mine is the main power wire was stripped on the battery and it kept shutting down on me. It rides straight so far and been really fun to ride. I have not had a chance to take it on any real long rides. My longest so far has been 250 miles. I am not surprised if CVT's has problems. I know alot of people with CVT even in their cars always going out on them. When I had my jeep I didn't even get 70k before the cvt started acting up. Cars cvt averages 120k if your lucky, most goes out before that.

    I have a 2022 Sport, Love it. Still ride 2 wheelers but for long distance work it's the Ryker. Bought the sport for the cruise control(makes all the difference in the world) and the upgraded suspension, To be fair the KYB's may be 10% better. Now I started to see a very little front end shake at 6000 miles. I took the front wheels to a competent tire shop to get balanced. They were on the money. When I put them back on I swapped sides ,this took care of the issue. I should add that I have an aftermarket swaybar and steering stabilizer. These 2 items will make a huge improvement for freeway travel and aggressive riding.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on your 2022 Ryker Sport! I really hoped that the Ryker would work out for me, but mine is just an incorrigible problem child. The alignment and handling issues refuse to be solved to my satisfaction. I upgraded to the BRP 30% stiffer sway bar within the first two weeks of ownership, and it has been laser-aligned 5 times without lasting success. I even splurged and upgraded to the Elka Stage-4 shocks ($2200) to see if that would help calm the front end, but those still weren't the magic bullet to cure the erratic handling.
      I took my Ryker on several 1500+ mile road trips, and the effort required to maintain its trajectory and keep it in a single lane was very tiring. So, I relegated the Ryker to shorter weekend jaunts and commuting duty for a while. The last nail in the coffin of shame was when the CVT rollers grenaded and damaged the drive system at under 12K miles. That should have been covered under warranty, but Can-Am said NO. After that $1500+ repair, I decided that it was time to move on. Oh, well... live and learn. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    I thought you had already sold the Ryker. I have a 2021 Ryker. One recall so far for the fender wiring harness. Did you put a steering dampner on yours? People say that makes a bigger improvement than the sway bar and links. You should try a Spyder. I have a 2015 RT-s. Much better machine and would be perfect for the touring you do. I'm seeing issues on the facebook groups on the 2020 and up Spyders, but the older ones from 2014-2019 are great! As for recalls, I just had to take my 2022 Honda in for a recall.

    It's a shame that the Ryker didn't work out. I've entertained the idea of getting a Spyder, but after the way CanAm did you on the CVT, no thanks. I'm no stranger to having teething pains as I have a Ural, but they've always been super to deal with, even taking care of something after my warranty expired because it was a known issue. So, you're aiming for an ADV 160 now?

      The early Rykers seem to have more problems than the later models. Can-Am is definitely the LEAST trustworthy manufacturer and has had more critical safety recalls of any vehicle I've ever owned... and that's saying a lot. I've owned 120+ motorcycles and 35+ cars/trucks from just about any manufacturer you can name. Can-Am ranks at the bottom two. 😒👎

    • @QuasiMotard

      The gauge data is an overlay that I generate using a third-party program called Telemetry Extractor: goprotelemetryextractor.com/ . The telemetry data for the HUD is recorded by my GoPro Hero11 camera and my Garmin Zumo GPS (when I'm riding with it). I stitch everything together with Adobe Premiere Pro to create the final videos. It's a lot of extra work to create the overlays, but I think the end results are worth the effort. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The newer models (2021+) seem to be more reliable and have fewer issues than the earlier ones.
      The steering issues and VSS faults from the bad parts are reportedly still an issue with 2022 models, but Can-Am is finally admitting the issue and issuing TSB's (technical service bulletins) for Rykers that are still under warranty. I'm not sure if they are covering (or repairing) older models with the same issues.
      However, the CVT problems are troubling. When the rollers explode and amd damage the drive faces or drive housing, Can-Am isn't covering ANYTHING... even under extended warranty. That's what happened to my Ryker. 😒👎 --QM

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Can-Am Spyder (F3, RT) is a larger, heavier trike that uses power-assist rack-and-pinion steering. They are less prone to the handling issues than the Ryker. The Spyder's suspension is adjustable to compensate for toe, camber, and rear thrust alignment. The Ryker is only adjustable for toe. However, they all suffer from Can-Am's horrible customer service and apathetic attitude toward their customers' safety. 😒👎

    I'm looking to get my motorcycle license and get a Can-Am. Do you need\use and ryding gear? Other than a helmet of course.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Riding and safety gear is optional but highly recommended. Some states have helmet laws that require motorcyclists to wear helmets and mandatory eye protection. I wear *almost* full gear on every ride.
      The age-old debate regarding safety equipment boils down to "ATGATT" (All The Gear All The Time) and "dress for the slide, not for the ride." My major motorcycle accident last year is a prime example: th-cam.com/video/ryELMtEel8g/w-d-xo.html . If I hadn't been wearing my safety gear, then I probably wouldn't have walked away from that incident.
      The Ryker doesn't lean or fall over, so the "slide" on the pavement is less likely but still possible. Gloves are a good idea because they protect your hands from rocks and pebble strikes ALL THE TIME. Riding jackets also protect you against small road debris, but their primary purpose is abrasion protection in a crash. The not-so-obvious benefit of wearing riding jackets is protection from the sun and wind. Sunburn and windburn (chapped skin) can be a problem after just a few hours of exposure.
      I'm a MOTGATT (most of the gear all the time) rider: helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots. Houston's heat and humidity preclude riding with "proper" motorcycle pants with armor. It's just too hot here, and that would increase the risk of heat stroke in the summer months. The rest of my riding gear is mostly textile mesh for good airflow, and I upgrade the armor to CE-2 or higher (e.g., D30, Rev'It Seeflex, etc) for better impact protection. Since my accident, I'm also considering the new airbag vests, but I still need to decide which model.
      I hope have a fun and safe entry into motorcycling! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    @thereal-ghost ปีที่แล้ว +2

    CanAm just doesn't have a good product with these 3 wheelers. They are all over priced , and have tons of problems, no one's going to ride with you, not taken seriously as a rider. Here in the midwest these things are ignored and removed from group rides at least once a month. I've seen maybe the last 7 rides out of 10 or 11 recently where we get a few people show up on these things and they get told they aren't riding in the group. They literally took scooters instead of any canam lol. If you're disabled and want to ride, get a harley trike or a gold wing trike. Everything else is not worth the money or emotional strain.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll agree on some of those points, particularly relating to the price and problems. However, the rider stigma for 3-wheelers is unfortunate, and it's completely wrong when it comes to the Rykers.
      Most riders assume that these reverse trikes are "crippled" or "cheating" modes of riding, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Ryker is an incredibly demanding machine to ride, so it's not a relaxed or "cheating" ride by any stretch of the imagination. It's a very sporty ride that requires a lot of upper body and core strength to ride. They are a hoot to ride for short jaunts around town, but the constant body leaning and steering input is physically taxing after just a few hours.
      I think the main problem with these is Can-Am's customer service and warranty. They are well aware of the Ryker platform's mechanical and electrical problems, but they turn a blind eye and pretend that those wide-spread problems don't exist. I had a few early ride vlogs that were heavily redacted (or just weren't published) where I made those observations and leveled some pointed accusations about Can-Am's refusal to address those issues. I was trying to be objective and not too much of a dick, but I think I made my point.
      Due to BRP/Can-Am's apathy and horrible warranty support, they lost me as a customer. One and done. 😒👎 --QM
