      I have the same model. Wilson combat makes a guide rod that let's you use government length recoil springs. I put a 15lb 1911 spring and mine, and shooting it became even better. I have a 18lb spring for +p loads. The p320 is definitely a phenomenal pistol.

      That's because the issues with the original version were corrected at the tail end of the M17 program. No M17s or M18s ever had the issues people are stressing about. Anyone that says otherwise is lying to you.
      The biggest gripe about Sig is that when they identified a possible issue and made the trigger changes to the military guns, they should have immediately notified the public and recalled the old guns. The way they handled it was absolute trash, but the guns are fine now. I waited to buy one until after they fixed them because I don't buy the first version of anything, no matter what it is.

    The funny thing is every person I actually meet in the real world either loves the 320 or just doesn’t prefer it but have nothing against it. I’ve never met anyone that had any actual issue with a 320. I picked up a 320 for $480 at the beginning of the pandemic when everything else was skyrocketing and it surprisingly became my favorite 9mm striker gun. Tried out all the polymer grip mods except the Mirzon and finally settled on the Brouwer M1811 grip mod. Definitely need to build a 320 from the ground up using the Fdez comped slide. My 320 has been more reliable than my previous G19.4 and shoots much softer while getting back on target quicker for me. I absolutely love my 320 and I’m kind of interested in the 365 macro too. All that said, HK is still my go to defensive handguns. SIG has become my “popular gun” for parts and aftermarket support.

    I love the P320. So many people are focused on the P365/XMacro these days, but the P320 should get even more recognition. Aside from my Walther PDP, the P320 is my favorite striker fired platform to shoot on. Super customizable (an expensive hobby though), many variants to fit any need, and it's just so fun to shoot. I started with the P320 as my first firearm and never shot a Glock previously so the higher bore axis and muzzle flip were things that forced me to really work on my grip. Once I got it down, I can shoot it super flat and relatively accurate while going fast. Trying a Glock afterwards it was easier to control the recoil on that since it's more of a push recoil impulse vs a flip with the P320, but I've gotten so used to the P320 that it isn't an issue. For around the same price you're getting a more modular pistol with better sights, better ergonomics, and a better trigger. If you want a comp on it or custom higher end parts, you can get it straight from Sig too if you're too lazy to make one yourself. There's no reason not to own a P320 and I trust it with my life/honestly think the gun going off is a user issue.
    The only downsides I can think of is Sig's quality control (they are amazing though and promptly fixed finishing issues I had with my first P320), higher costs for accessories/mags, and I really wished it came with a backstraps system or allow us to get the P320 with a Large grip frame straight from Sig for most P320s (a system like the ones they use for the XMacro would be perfect)

    I trust my P320 with my life. It's had one in the chamber for 6-7 years, I'm from South Africa and we didn't even have the full upgrade, we got the slim trigger and some internal changes but didn't get the disconnect and the cut in the slide
    But ive ran with it, shook it, walked into doorframes with it😂 but it's never gone off without me pulling the trigger
    Cases of it going of without dropping has been negligent discharges from my personal opinion

    Excellent build setups and thanks for the Shout Out! Also want to share for readers that the P320 is a phenomenal platform and every one of us who are certified Sig Sauer P320 Armorers understand the safety mechanisms make it virtually impossible to fire on its own. Every case of an unintended (holstered) discharge that we've seen so far happens when bending over, and that goes for any pistol. Watch the exact same thing happen with a Glock -- th-cam.com/video/yFM3emqjCXI/w-d-xo.html -- as these incidents have been known to happen when a bit of clothing gets pulled into the trigger guard when the pistol is re-holstered, and then tugged with movement. Every one of Sig's incidents that were brought to light had the pistol checked by Sig and found to be mechanically sound, hence a part didn't break and cause it to discharge.

    • @UncleDanBand64

      I understand reholstering with clothing in the trigger guard or having clothing and then the cloth being tugged could cause a discharge. My question, is the striker pre-cocked? With Glock obviously it is not. Unless the trigger linkage moves rearward and catches the striker to pull tension it can not fire. So if the Sig is the same design it is no different. I think part of the problem is watching all of these tactical want to bees reholstering like a quick reholster saves lives. In fact that is the time a ND is most likely. Draw the gun quick but, take your time and look the gun back into the holster, especially when carrying appendix.

      The issues are internet folklore blown out of proportions by keyboard warriors. I own 3 Sigs and they have been flawless for thousands of rounds. I would not hesitate to buy another. My only complaint with SIG is that their prices keep going up. Their Xten comp and Xmacro are next on my list. I have owned many other manufacturers and sold them but my Sigs stay in my collection.

    • @UncleDanBand64
      @UncleDanBand64 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @user-pp5or5og4k Yesterday I went on research quest to understand the mechanism of the Sig. In my opinion I wouldn't have one without a manual safety. The striker is 100% tensioned with a single action trigger. Now granted the trigger has some travel before it is going to drop. To be fair though the Gun was designed to have external safeties to fulfill the Military Guidelines. It basically would be about like walking around with a bolt action rifle chambered and the safety off. I am not knocking Sig and I appreciate that they seem very pro 2a. Just saying if I had one I without a safety I would by a frame with the safety on it.

    Only issues going off in a holster have all been found to be operator error and or foriegn objects in holster. For the uninitiated, Glock Leg is a thing, glocks have far more documented accounts of ND, but SIG is just taking its turn in the hot seat.
    This is going to happen when it is standard issue for police forces, and they have the least trained people carrying a weapon day in and day out.
    With thousands of rounds down range from both my glocks and SIG P320 and no issues.
    Ohhhh and guys, if you're rockin a P320 check out the Brouwer Solutions M1811 (or 1823 I think is the metal frame) they make the grip and mag well just awesome and the alignment is sick.

      Of course the glock has more nds. Look at how much longer glock has been around and how many more glocks they are in use. Especially considering they were one of the first popular pistols without a frame mounted safety. Think the lack of trigger safety most likely leads to more 320 nds caused by operator and the gun.

    • @jw5297
      @jw5297 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@s.vernon5118 SIG still has a long way to go to catch up to Glock in that arena. Given more people buy Glock, because it's what everyone knows of, there are far more ND/ADs than any other striker fired pistols. Also, fun fact, likely due to same thing, Glocks are the most returned/traded firearms purchased. I owned a G19&G17, largely because I only knew of Glock outside of Barretta and a 1911, I always hated the grip angle. This said, they make a great weapon, but in today's world, there are so many other choices and better out of the box.
      Personally I've gone to SIG and Canik, primarily SIG due to all of the awesome upgrades available.
      I run the snot out of my P320 and do not feel it is any less safe than the Glocks or Canik, or SAR or M&P I have.

    The funny thing about the self discharging P320 stories is beyond the stories that happened 2-3 years ago you have not heard anything more about them no resolution one way or the other. IIRC sig updated the sear and either lightened the physical trigger or changed the trigger springs due to the mass of the stock trigger and inertia when it is dropped possibly contributing to discharges. Supposedly the drop had to happen at a very specific angle for the old P320 to discharge

    HELL NOO! I'm sorry bud but I didn't watch any video, i saw it live. I never even knew about the discharges until I went home and checked if there were similar situations and there is A LOT! I went to Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club to shoot on 5/7/24. Everyone in CA freaks out when we get a new gun on roster and people were swiping this up like it was a staccato 50% off deal and I was thinking of scooping one up myself cause the price wasn't bad for a optics ready gun, we have a select few in CA. So the guy on my immediate right had this gun fresh out and his first time shooting it, I was watching him set it down when the range master called cease fire and it went off when he put it on the table, thank god he was aiming it down range. I seen this gun the next day on calguns for PPT in my area, wouldn't be surprised if it was him trying to get rid of it, at the same time that pisses me off if it was him, irresponsible and messed up to put someone else's life in for a measly $700 he should've just returned it to sig for another model or a refund. I saw another video of a CA TH-camr p320 going off in his holster and making a hole through his shorts.

    Bought this pistol a couple of months ago in 45 compact model. First I love the way it feels and shoots but I have an issue that in all the videos out there no one talks about and that is the new number sight system they went to on this pistol. It is total garbage. I took it to the range and it kept shooting 4 inches low so before someone says that I don't know how to shoot. I spent 28 years in the military and now retired and was a part time police officer for 2 years so I have been trained by some of the most professional experts in proper shooting forms and techniques. With that being said I contacted Sig and on a phone call with their optics expert I was informed that they set their pistol sights up to shoot at 25 yards. So basically I was told if your looking for a pistol for self defense or close distance shooting then their line of pistols is not what I need.......For real. Their sights are set up for competition shooters that shoot at a distance of 25 yards so I had 2 options I could send the pistol back to Sig and have them do an accuracy test on it. ( Which they would shoot the pistol at 25 yards) or I can purchase different sights and have them put on the pistol to fit what my needs are. I choose to replace their garbage sites with ones that are adjustable and now I shoot center mass groups from 5 feet out to 10 yards. ( I won't even get into the legal self defense issues on why so close all I will say you shoot someone that is a threat that doesn't have a firearm over 10 yards and you better be ready to spend a lot of time in a jail cell. It is all about the threat distance and your distance of escape from that threat.) But that is another topic of discussion. But I told the clown on the phone it was the first Sig I ever bought and will be the last one.

    Here’s something to fix the discharging in the holster - don’t have one in the chamber. Before people get on to me y’all need to realize that even in the military when you walk around with a weapon you don’t walk around with it charged until you’re actually in a situation where you need to use the weapon. Nobody is going to pull up to you in Walmart and you be in a situation where you have nanoseconds to react like it’s some TH-cam short. There’s no reason that when you’re carrying you’re walking around with one in the chamber. It takes a split second to charge the weapon. You’re not dueling you’re going to be aware of a potential before it even becomes an active threat. Even cops aren’t allowed to walk around with one in the chamber for reasons like this.
