What if there are no parenthesis or exponents? Ex: 5-20÷2+5=
This was an exact example of the questions given to my daughter for homework but no parenthesis or exponents and they haven't been taught negative numbers or exponents or parenthesis.
We got "0" for the answer.
There were others like this where the answer would be negative or a decimal/fraction. So it made me wonder if the teacher wanted me to teach her.
If there is no parenthesis, as in the example I gave, after multiplication or division, do we just work left to right?

According to the rules taught in German schools: 6/2(1+2) = 1
parentheses, exponents, IMPLIED MULTIPLIKATION, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction
6/2(1+2)= 6/ 2(3) = 6/ 2*3 = 6 [fraction bar] 2*3 = 6/6 = 1
I calculated it with a calculator prescribed by the German school authorities.
TI calculators are banned in German schools because they calculate according to PEMDAS
CASIO pocket calculators are required in German schools because they calculate according to PEJMDAS: 6/2(1+2)=1
Yes, MDAS is still used up to the 4th grade, but when higher mathematics is taught, PEJMDAS is normal
