    For the first time it hit me today morning Saturday. My spirit said to me it is not a celebration palm Sunday but Jesus walking volunteering to be sacrificed. Then I remember how the same people that received him with palms crucified him. And so I realized I have to walk with Jesus this day as a support to him. The Holy Spirit guides us 🥰

    Father Mike, you make me feel as if I am your friend. Thank you for the blessings you give. This is a very powerful video on Holy Week. And yes, since I reverted in 2008, I understand my faith much more clearly than when I was a child. God bless you and the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist.

    Fr.Mike .... I’am so grateful that my God through his Begotten Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit came to fulfill the law and retrieve us from the jaws of death where we were placed by the snares of Satan through our freedom of choice .God through the Holy Trinity sacrificed himself through Jesus who became the “Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world “ and redeemed us ALL so we may not parish but have life eternal with him in Heaven.
    Glory be to God in the Highest and Praise be Jesus Christ endeared be the Holy Spirit Blessed be our Mary our Mother and Blessed be our Beloved S.Joseph her Holy Spouse FOREVER

    I know my Prayer life has gotten so much better. I try to remember to Praise our Lord first, then I pray for people who need healing, whatever kind of healing that may be. I have started saying "Let Your Will Be Done". Because God knows so much more than I ever will. It's comforting to ask that His Will Be Done.

    No law doesn't mean that there's no right and no wrong. When love dictates one's life, there's no law. Jesus was above all law and we're called to that too.

    • @chrisenglund1185
      @chrisenglund1185 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lisandro, I'm not quite sure I understand your comment completely, I think that Love is the law. Matthew 5:17-20 English Standard Version (ESV)
      Christ Came to Fulfill the Law
      17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

    #ASKFRMIKE , Thank you Fr Mike. I am an usher at a Catholic Church and about 1/5th of the congregation leave after The Eucharist Communion Service. They just walk from the line back to the exit and leave. As an usher I've asked a few people why and they say they want to beat the traffic in parking lot to leave Church. As an usher I stay at least a few minutes after each Mass to clean up and I tell them that also then there is no traffic out, and maybe they would like to talk with others for a few minutes after mass instead of leaving early. I don't say they miss the final blessing of Mass but I want to bring them back for it as I know it helps me. I would be curious on any comments you have. Thank you for your time making sharing the videos. They have helped me and helped me help others.

    • @kimfleury
      @kimfleury 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't understand the concept of "beating traffic," because it's not like a few minutes makes any real difference. What people should be doing is staying a few minutes after Mass to give thanks to God and compose themselves for the week ahead, especially if they aren't able to attend Daily Mass. I don't like people staying in the church to talk after Mass. When I was growing up, nobody was allowed to have a conversation in the nave. If someone wanted to talk to the priest, it was out in the narthex. This allowed people to pray in silence. Nobody cares to be courteous any more. As soon as Mass is over, there's an uproar in the nave, loud conversation and laughter. At my parish, they're old hippies, mostly, and hard of hearing now, so they're louder than ever. I've mentioned to them the joy of being before the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle, especially since my work has sometimes made it impossible to step foot on land for as much as a month at a time, and they flippantly answer, "Oh well. Jesus is everywhere." I had that attitude, too, until I was deprived of His presence in the Eucharist, but I never would have dismissed anyone's feelings - in fact, I always left the nave to have conversations, to allow others to pray in their own way in silence. I much prefer the practice at the parishes that have attached social halls, where the priest invites people to stay for conversation with treats. Admittedly, the parish church I attend most often doesn't have that separate space, and the narthex is small, and in winter nobody wants to talk outside. Even so, I wish they would talk more quietly off in the transept, at least.

      @joanfox6679 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I too see people leave early and so I pray for them..they are missing out on one of the many gifts of the mass. The final blessing is truely a gift. God's gift.

    • @wms72
      @wms72 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 15 minutes after Holy Communion are the holiest moments of life, in which the soul is closest to God. Jesus has told saints He is grieved when people receive Him in Holy Communion and then act like nothing has happened. Why don't priests correct this thoughtless attitude so prevalent among the laity???

    • @cloudypuff98
      @cloudypuff98 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I admit, I am one of the patrons that leave after communion but what I do is walk to the rear and kneel in prayer and afterward give my offerings to the poor as well as offerings as I take holy water to bless my family and home. There may be many different reasons people leave after taking the Eucharist. I believe it is not ones place to judge or focus on what someone else is doing. Your relationship with the Creator is your own and that is the most important thing that matters. The rest will work itself out. Remember, judge not lest ye be judged. Peace and many blessings to you.

    • @karenhatch1274
      @karenhatch1274 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cloudypuff98 Thank you! I am in the church choir so I do not leave early but I believe as you do. Judge not lest ye be judged. We do not know what is in another person's heart. I pray for those who stay and for those that have to leave early and for the ones that were not able to come to Mass.

      +Luna Sol I'm sorry to hear this. I just wanted to say that I believe cancer can be cured, in fact I believe there's no disease that cannot. This isn't really widely known I don't think but sicknesses are able to come and fester when the body is too acidic. Our body has a natural ph of 7. 365 (something like that) but most of us these days without knowing are in the acidic range because of all the processed foods, toxins etc that are practically everywhere. There are places to go for more information of this which I will give an example of but what needs to happen is you need to reverse the acidity to get to the neutral alkaline level of 7. You can check up Dr Leonard Coldwell, or type this stuff up into youtube, google etc. The medicine industry don't make money from this because it's natural that's why it's not commonly known that's what I believe. I pray he is better, GOD be with you all...

    What is your thought on vigil Masses? Why do we have them? It seems like just an easy way out. Jesus gave us Sunday for Mass, the only day required for Catholics to go to Mass, why do we have to extend it to Saturday night as well?

    #askfrmike What is the best way to deal with conflict about Catholicism within your family? It seems like it's really difficult to find a middle ground between being constantly on the defensive and just pretending that faith isn't important.

    • @MiguelEnriqueCVeluz
      @MiguelEnriqueCVeluz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +C Murphy I know there was a guy who said that you have to keep in mind 6 things to deal with non-Catholic, or even anti-Catholic relatives!
      1. Don't argue. You're merely gonna push them away.
      2. Display your joy. When they ask why you are always so bright and happy, you say, "I'm Catholic!"
      3. Pray for them. In John 21, Peter pulled out 153 fish from the right side of the boat. Also note that on Jesus' right side, there sits Mary, and her net has 153 Hail Maries (which is the rosary!). Pray a rosary for your relatives.
      4. Pray that God will send someone into their lives to convert them, because essentially, it is not our job, but the Holy Spirit's to convert men.
      5. Know your faith, and how to defend your faith.
      6. Love them. Nothing speaks greater than love, because God is love, and God is great.
      Peace!
      #askfrmike, What can you suggest?

    Can you make a video on how to do lent as an adult? I feel like I get stuck thinking like a child when it comes to lent and focus too much on what to give up, like sweets, or tv or something.

    Also, I would love to see a video on music, and how it can either bring us closer to Christ or bring us farther away. How detrimental is most of the music in our society now a days? What is your view on Christian rap?

    #askfrmike First of all, I'd like to thank Fr Mike and Ascension Presents for the wonderfully helpful videos you guys make, they have helped me and so many others so much and are deeply appreciated! Thank you for this video! I would like to ask Fr. Mike as a gay Catholic or rather as a Catholic experiencing same-sex attraction, what are the do's and don't's if I want to live a holy Catholic life and still be at peace with my sexuality? Could you be specific like what about kissing and cuddling and holding hands? I know everything sexual is strictly prohibited, it's the areas of grey that I would like clarification please. I've tried to find and watch your videos concerning homosexuality and the Church and each of them I find so helpful. But I think a lot of us are still plagued with these doubts if we wish to remain good practicing Catholics and still have healthy homosexual relationships, if that's possible, what are we allowed to do or should be doing? Thank you so much and God bless!

    #askfrmike Should Judas really get blamed for what he did? I mean, he did play a part in getting Jesus caught. Therefore fulfilling God's plan.
