Yes. It should be 0 < delta < min{|x|, epsilon/(3|x|)} for x not equal to 0 and 0 < delta < sqrt(epsilon) for x =0. Thanks.

if f: X -> Y then if x is discrete metric space then every function defined on it is continous on X .....How ?????............Plz tell me Sir
Since you got a discrete metric on X every subset of X is open, so for every open subset G in Y, f^-1(G) is always open in X, that is the same as saying f is continous on X (see preceding lecture if this is not clear)
because every point of a discrete metric space is an isolated point.
Because, inverse image of every open set in Y is again a open set in X.
