For anyone who has problems getting the car back into any gear or park after pulling this lever, get under the car and pull the Bowden cable attached to the side of the gearbox down an inch... This sorted the issue for me.
Would love it if you did a video on how to relearn TPMS to the car. Bought 20s for the car. With new TPMS's and they come up on the machine but the car keep saying TPMS fault. Smh. Trying to NOT have to take my old wheels to dealership to take my old sensors out and put in my new wheels. Always something
I have no crank issue on my 2011 xjl 5.0 supercharged . I had power in the vehicle but when i try to start i would hear a tick and nothing happens I tried boosting it still no crank I changed the battery still no crank I got it towed home ordered a starter motor and it arrived after a week and i changed it my car fired up . Next morning i started the car (its parked in my garage) Started no issues got to work parked it there for 8 hours and it was negative 15 degrees Celsius tried starting same tick no crank. At this point i have new battery and starter motor in the car. I let the ignition on and started searching on forums that why it is happening couldn't find anything after about 3 minutes i tried again it started. I thought i just got lucky so i drove home and everything was normal. Shut it off and tried to start and turn of multiple time everything seemed fine. Next morning started fine no issues. Got to work and after 8 hour did the exact same thing. No crank just a tick. So i let the ignition on for 3 to 5 minutes and tried starting again she fired up. So anytime my car is parked in cold weather when its below 10 degrees or colder i have to let the ignition on then start it after 5 minutes. Any idea why it makes me do that?
Wow that’s very odd that something that you would think a diesel would do. Unfortunately I really don’t have much of an answer for you you should try posting on the forums I’m not sure if you said you did that already or just search them but the forums can be very helpful
That's frigging awesome!! So my xjl 2011..car battery died with the alarm going off and my key fob battery is dead too..and the fob got smashed..so I bought another one..just need to program the new one..so how the heck do I program the fob with my alarm going off at the same time!!!
I’m happy to hear you are looking to get an XJ. I have owned the car for over three years and put about 20 or 30,000 miles on the car since then and to be honest with you the engine maintenance has been great. The only thing that went was the alternator because the oil was dripping on it from the valve cover gasket. However the valve cover gasket on these cars are extremely pricey and if the fuel injectors get rust welded in the job is almost impossible. I hear range rover quoted a customer for thousand dollars to do the valve cover job keep in mind it’s the same engine in the XJ. Make sure you check for any oil leaks on the valve cover before you buy the car. If there are oil leaks I suggest you walk away.
I really appreciate that and the oil leak will be the first thing I look for.... sorry for the late response. I will keep you informed on when I purchase
Thanks man, I have been stuck on the road but am helped

So I'm most likely going to get the xj I love the car and I see you do too.... My question is how has the Engine maintenance been for you?

Is there a similar way for Jaguar Xe?
Bad location for the AWD model. It requires having another person there with you.
Agreed
And charge the battery..
Jackson Amy Williams Joseph Garcia Donna
Manual shifter way better
You should manual swap an XJ.
Quite the design. Jaguar makes it so easy…….. not
You are correct, It is easy.
