Any idea when a renault clio temp gauge stayes at 2 bars and goes up to 4 bars for say 30 secs and goes back to 2?

Sounds like you've replaced the obvious causes. You will need to monitor the voltage at the coolant temp sensor as the car warms up. If you have a scan tool you can look at live data to monitor the coolant temp there as well. The values should change smoothly as the temperature of the coolant increases. If the voltage kind of jumps around a bit then there could be a wiring issue or if there is still air in the cooling system that will cause the gauge to be erratic.
