I love when random review really is just a random figure. They were always the ones I looked forward to most, not the most recent releases I can see from everyone else, but the old toys that no ones remembered since the days of 480p youtube.
Energon Optimus Prime a decade earlier. For those that don't know, Prime Force had a ground vehicle (fire tuck), air (copter), subterranean (drill tank), and water (sub).
Energon Optimus its also very similar to Might Kaiser from Brave Express Might Gaine, basically he is a red locomotive that tows a white wagon that holds various mini vehicles that combine to form a super robot, just like thunder Baron you can join the vehicles in a very similar super jet mode but they lacks the robot mode
I remember seeing Baltmatrix's review of this back in 2009. I later got my brother to buy it for me, off an ebay seller, as a 17th - or possibly 18th - birthday present in 2010 or 2011.
Important note about Thunder Baron: In a similar sense to King Poseidon, Thunder Baron's limbs are actually non-sentient drones controlled by the core, Ace Baron. Basically, Thunder Baron is Ace Baron's stronger combat form, matching up with Katori/Fighbird and Guardion.
I heard that Good Smile Company under the "Gattai" line is making a modern Thunder Baron with articulation and all assuming if you have the money to buy him, lol.
Ace Baron made me realize we never had a tank bot serve as the torso for a combiner, which is pretty weird in hindsight. Especially with how an H-tank fits well for that role, as Ace Baron here presents (more or less).
Nice to see more Braves! the point of individual robots being rare is wrong. Most vehicles in braves have robot modes. its only the leaders who usually have vehicles with no robot modes.
Regardless of how stiff the robots are, I still dig how much the playability this toy has and it looks like a great toy on the display! I too never seen the vehicle combination from any toy lines!
Oh, man! Thanks so much for this video. Since a kid, I've had a bootleg of this set and never knew what it was. I loved playing with it because it was pretty high quality, but it irked me that neither my brother, to whom it originally belonged, nor me knew where it came from. I only ever assumed it was a bootleg, and it seems I was right. There are more similarities between my bootleg set and this original than there are differences, the greatest difference being that the torso bot has a bat emblem tampographed on its chest, and I always thought it was Batman related because of that.
Drill Baron reminds me of the GoBot Screw Head. They have the same alt mode and conversion style. Then again, Screw Head doesn't turn into a giant arm.
Fighbird himself was like a pretender/Power master as he is an humanoid android body and merge with fire jet or fire shuttle to become a super robot, very akin to Masterforce
make road and drill baron into an updated core class 2 pack, same for aqua and sky, and then make ace into a decently sized deluxe, that would make a semi affordable updated set
I got this toy with abit diffrent paintjob and it has decepticon symbols, dont know where i got it but i think it was picked up in either kora or Malaysia back in the days. the orange airplane is teal and the blue is purple and his head is purple and not red and has teal face. very 1990ies g2 colour scheme
I really don't know how the heck you do what you do, sometimes it seems crazy, like when you did the Beast Wars and Beast Machines show reviews along with the usual daily content and running a toy store, also thanks for doing this review, I was curious about this set of figures when I saw the other video you did. Edit: This one really caught my attention because of the combined vehicle mode, that doesn't look half bad, unlike something like the combined vehicle mode of the first 5 vehicles of PR: Op. Overdrive, I can see what they were going for, but I think it turned out meh!
You saying that they were competing with super sentai band yet saying the parts resemble mecha that didn’t exist yet just sounds off. Also vehicle to combiner only ever applied to main Braves and maybe their substitutes when the main was out of commission, everyone else had partners to combine with
I am curious in where did you get these toys The original JP releases are hard to find, but I heard the Sonokon South Korean releases are much easier to find for a good price, mostly for the Early Brave stuff (I would love to get some Exkaiser toys myself)
Sonokong never released exkaiser stuff. they released Dagarn till Gaogaigar but good luck find them since they've been out of production for years so they are likely just as expensive as japanese ones nowadays.

A Fightbird. If I recall correctly, it's the source of the "Is this a butterfly" meme comes from
Correct
Along with the way Fighbird’s main villain’s name is pronounced.
Don't you mean "Is this a pigeon"?

The irony is this came a year before Zyuranger, in regards to the legs.

Just like the prime force in Energon but with robot mode
Hell yeah, always good to see Brave, and Thunder Baron is a pretty neat figure
Fighbird, huh?
The Brave series with THAT meme
Then, it's only pertinent to ask:
(hand gestures to figure)
"Is this a Transformer?"
I heard that Good Smile Company under the "Gattai" line is making a modern Thunder Baron with articulation and all assuming if you have the money to buy him, lol.
Road Baron, looking like the little trailer transports that came with the return of convoy bots
Ace Baron made me realize we never had a tank bot serve as the torso for a combiner, which is pretty weird in hindsight. Especially with how an H-tank fits well for that role, as Ace Baron here presents (more or less).

Thunder Baron looks like a nice mix of the Rescue (From Turbo) and Lightspeed Megazords.
WHAT HAVE I DONE......
Regardless of how stiff the robots are, I still dig how much the playability this toy has and it looks like a great toy on the display! I too never seen the vehicle combination from any toy lines!
BRAVE SERIES LETS GO
I got the blue and orange ones with some transformers recently . I had no idea what they were.
Drill Baron is giving me so much GoBots Screwhead vibes. Very cool.

Maybe not but he did get a new toy with giant arms of his own in Machine Robo Rescue as Hyper Drill Robo.
A Baltmatrix classic, much like this set. Spada did a great many import-reviews - of both contemporary and retro toys - in the late 2000s.
Thanks!
Remember when we thought that Blocktastic robots were awesome? Ahhhhhhh, those were the days.
Fighbird himself was like a pretender/Power master as he is an humanoid android body and merge with fire jet or fire shuttle to become a super robot, very akin to Masterforce
They look like the megazords that the turbo rangers would call on if they were really desperate.
Next, Land Bison from Da Garn 😁
Or Baan Gaan, of-which TJ teased a review many years ago. Do they still own it?
A bit of panellining would do wonders for Aqua Baron. Just hit It with a Brown marker
make road and drill baron into an updated core class 2 pack, same for aqua and sky, and then make ace into a decently sized deluxe, that would make a semi affordable updated set
Strictly speaking, Bandai Namco own Brave now. Takara and/or Hasbro can't do anything with it.
Good toy as long as you apply the stickers. Without them, it looks extremely dull.
Brave seems very fun

There's a decent chance that there will be a new version of this toy being released.
The only brave series i watched were: exkaiser, goldran and gaogaigar, but i do know about the existence of the rest of them
Very enjoyable video TJ!!
@TJOmega Your contest is supposed to end on the 7th
This is how busy I am, I'm losing track of my own schedules.

anyone else getting vehicle voltron vibes from this figure
more brave series please! :) 👍
TJ will you cover Transformers toys/designs reused for The Brave Series?
Is this a pigeon?
Energon Optimus grandfather

My nostalgia is not familiar with JP-only Exxkaiser and Fighbird even though I grew up with Dagwon.
