Two things. 1. The tank mode is configured wrong. The cannon that will eventually end up on his left arm is meant to plug backwards into the front of the main cannon to give him his screen accurate vehicle mode. 2. He can actually be transformed without part forming. I mean you do have to take the cannons off and move them to his arms but the turret/back pack can just stay on that peg. It might be easier to remove it just to get it out of the way but it is doable without taking that off.
im gonna be honest, i prefer the way Tj had his tank mode built. stacking the cannons on all 3 sides of the turret just gives it this meatier look, and covers up some of the flat empty surfaces of the screen accurate config. idk, it just looks beefier and i like that, cuz its meaner
@@RangeetChLahiri It doesn't look bad, it does give him 4 canons. It's just not how the vehicle mode is meant to look and he didn't show off the more screen accurate configuration. Options are good as Emgo would say, display the figure however you want, I just wanted to point out features that were missed in the video.
“If you can a weapon that’ll look good to extend the barrel…” It’s right there! Sorry, my anxiety kept looking at the little gun and in my head I kept screaming that it’s supposed to be attached backwards on the main gun for that very purpose.
These Studio series deluxes really should have been made as Orion Pax and D16. Optimus and Megatron should be voyagers to scale properly with B127, Elita, and Sentinel Prime. Edit: It also bothers me that he doesn't have the Megatron fusion cannon but instead has the smaller D16 fusion cannon
Great review. The little arm gun combines with the arm cannon in tank mode. Can transform with the backpack. Hope we will get a upgrade kit for the final form arm cannon.
While I admire the choice of making this Megatron and Optimus affordable, I hope we get bigger ones at some point, they were huge in the movie compared to everyone else around them.
3:19 it’s something that bothers me more than it should but I hate when they give tank transformers those stupid nubs instead of thin hideaway wheels. They did it with the Tarn mold and I’m a little disappointed they did it again with this
Unlike Cyberverse Megatron, One Megatron made sure his groin was well-guarded in tank mode*. *I don’t know if it’s been edited out recently or not, but TFWiki had a weird thing for pointing out Cyberverse Megs’s “highly vulnerable crotch” in the captions for his toys (since the sides of his tank mode were his calves) for a while.
Both of the first SS figures we've gotten seem underbaked engineering and features wise and also too small. I know studio series doesn't normally have do-overs, but I hope we'll eventually get Voyager or maybe even Leader versions based on the final upgraded designs. Maybe even they'll get MPMs in a few years.
I think Leader would be too big (especially if the thirteen Primes get done as Leaders), but they definitely needed to be Voyagers to scale with Elita-1 and B-127.
I think my problem with this tank mode is that the front treads stick out way too much. Like, if I could draw it back a bit on both sides, he'd be fine. As is, he looks kind of unbalanced in that mode.
This is almost a great toy. I really wish the legs were shorter, both for robot mode and tank mode. Other than that, can't argue with the design and transformation. Yes, it would be nice if he had more paint and less hollowness, but we've come to expect that now.
Haven’t seen the movie yet but absolutely loving the figure so far. Have to say the SS Optimus isn’t quite as great imo but not bad by any means. Hoping to see the movie this weekend!
I like how you can just transform one of his legs to reference the movie. I have him on Pre-Order but he is due October 31st, so 2 weeks away, I just got a shipping notification for Gamer Edition Ratchet though
spoilers for tf-one in regards to the partforming, dont read further if you don't want to be spoiled. the turret-removal can be seen as a reference to the 1v1 between optimus and megatron at the climax of the movie, as optimus does tear off the turret, megatron transforms, and reattaches it as optimus attempts to strike him with the turret.
@@samurexatlas7373 Yeah, but that's not the same as Studio Series. Hell, Bumblebee Arcee got an SS figure, and she wasn't in that movie long enough to have a vehicle mode!

I agree you don't have to parts form, but at least with my copy, the backpack piece falls off every time you transform it.

Its a M type tank.
Yes the M stands for megatron
Beat me to it! I was going to type it as soon as he started playing with letters.
@@The_Troid MEGATANK!
Grabbed him and Optimus this last week, definitely impressed.
Can't wait for Studio Series Sentinel Prime so i can recreate movie spoilers

Alright, time to viciously scour every Walmart and Target till I find him
I already found him a couple days ago at my local walmart. Only one on the pegs
You know there is a thing called Google you could buy it there
good luck

I found him and picked him up at Target yesterday
Question, did you purposely attach the second blaster (the one that goes on his left arm) wrong on the tank mode or was it a mistake.
The long barrels are also connected wrong. They go on the sides of the treads, not on the turret
They look fantastic together on my shelf
Mine just got delivered from Amazon!! Perfect timing.

This looks kind of like Animated Megatron. That's a really cool touch. Although I doubt it was intentional.
Looking forward to the other duo
Sentinel and Airachnid.

I hope we get versions of Megatron and Optimus that're shiny like in the film.
Everyone was very shiny and chrome

I leave the back on, I also leave the the longer turrets on his legs and the cannon on his back a la G1 😆
I hate to say it. But this isn't Megatron it's still D16. Megatron has the Triple Barrel Fusion canon
awesome review
Any particular reason you didn’t make his barrel look like it’s supposed to?
is it based off the RoTF Megatron tank?
So T1 Megatron gets a Studio Series figure before RotB Arcee?

I will admit I dislike the U tank
