Once upon a time , my father told me how he had to respond to an off base fire with the crash crew. They turned the corner and saw the block had only one hydrant, and the only car on the block was parked right in front of it! Needless to say they never slowed down! The car flew 60 ft. down the street. JUSTICE!!
I've done it once myself when my probie and I had to hookup to a hydrant. Not only did we take out the windows; we opened the doors I laid hose across the seats to avoid kinking. Since we were toned out right after a truck fire the bright yellow 8 inch supply was brownish gray, wet from slush, salt and and muddy. Just for good measure we had the vehicle ticketed, towed, and it spent the night in the impound yard. The owner wanted our department to pay for the broken glass, the interior was stained beyond cleaning, towing, impound fees, tickets, and his rental car expenses. His insurance denied his claim and needless to say when he tried to sue the department for his losses he was almost laughed out of the courtroom.
If I was the judge it would be. If I award you damages, then the court will charge you with interfering with an emergency vehicle, endangering peoples life, blocking a hydrant, impound car as evidence, loss of driving privilege's for one year $10,000 fine and damages and being being stupid

the definition of hosing the act of fornication with no regard for the pleasure of the recipient. Usually accompanied by alcohol (see Jack Daniels hosing) and characterized by frenetic intensity.
This lady's commentary is laughable, it is so bad it's good, it's so cringeworthy it makes me smile, it's so corny you don't know if she's serious or just high on pot.
I'm currently a volunteer fireman and this, like mentioned, is very rare. I've never heard of it happening in my town in the 125 years we've had a fire department. Although my chiefs have had to do it in their career fireman jobs, it's unfortunate but the car owner has what's coming to him.
Well, you shouldn't in the first place, but if you do it would make it easier of the fire fighters to get the hose through. However, you still are slowing them down by about 20 seconds, and with fires, that bit of time is important as it only takes about 1.5 min to spread in many households.
i'll bet some entitled drivers even tried suing the firefighters for damaging their car, not caring that they'll be laughed out of the courtroom for parking in front of it in the first place.
I was at a fire recently with a car blocking a hydrant......the boys put the bumper of the fire truck to the rear of the car and pushed forward 20 feet. Lol the truck moved real easy lol
I once witnessed one of our past fire fighters throw a Maglite flashlight at a woman's car door because she failed to stop while he was directing traffic on the scene of a car accident. At a time like that, it doesn't matter what's right or wrong, whats legal or not, what matters is that everyone makes it out alive and safe. If someone's property has to get damaged because they were too ignorant to follow instructions, that's not the fire departments fault.
If i scroll down i can clearly see two things: 1: People don't watch the video before commenting, if they had, they'd know that you can't put the hose around or over or under the car. (why? WATCH THE VIDEO) 2: People don't realize there's a fire and they have to act fast, so no they can't start pushing the car.
Yes, let me just take a break from trying to save this burning building and call a towing service, I'm sure anyone left in the house won't mind. Wouldn't want to scratch this poor Sods car.
I saw the exact same thing when i was a kid. The owner of the car was acting all mad and tough at first untill a fire fighter yelled at his ass for parking his car there. It was hilarious seeing Mr tough guy turn into a wimp.
I used to be a volunteer fire fighter when I was in high school and community college for a few years. I was the Hydrant guy so I jumped off the truck and wrapped the hose around the hydrant and teh truck drove off slowly to the fire scene. Open the hydrant turn it on to flush it (people dont understand the amount of crap that is inside the hydrant ) and then we hook up the hose. I never got to smash the windows of a car but I always hoped some asshole lawyer would park his expensive car in front of a hydrant. (and yes I was allowed to do that if we couldnt get the hose through.. Usually the Lts or other officers were around, and Im sure I woudl have gotten to break the windows with the spanner wrench (sometimes called a hydrant wrench) it sure was heavy enough to do the job.
+Peter F. I know exactly how you feel (Used to go to Firestation as work experience in school, was a lot of fun messing around squirting each other in the summer) The fire protective gear is so warm though, gotta feel bad for the firefighters wearing them whilst in a warm building. The only thing I hate was doing the hydrant duty, rushing to put stand pipe into the hydrant was a nightmare considering it was rusted and was extremely hard to tighten. And you're right, gotta flush em or you get stones and shit trying to come through the branch.
+connor etchells Sounds like your city could use some money to pay people to cut new threads into the hydrant. Or just replace it. I don't know how it works. I'm not a fucking pipefitter, though I do admire their work.

My mother watched firemen smash the windows and run a hose through a car parked in a fire zone in front of a grocery store so don't think this won't happen to you.
The guy with the hose through his car got what he deserved. However I've seen many clips on TH-cam of cop cars and parking enforcement patrol cars parked by hydrants for no good reason and I'd be willing to bet my ass that the firemen wouldn't do that to a patrol car! Even if the cops or traffic agents were nowhere in sight and were away eating lunch somewhere, you could be they'd make other arrangements to pump the water. They wouldn't start smashing windows. That hypocrisy is one of the reasons I'm not a police officer any more.
***** I don't think it was necessary to be rude to TheSuperBlackMan but I do agree that fire fighters would be more than excited to smash a Patrol Car window, and even mock the cop after wards. I also agree that they are too focused on the fire to give two-Fs whose are it is, it could be the Queen of Englands and they'd still smash the window, and possibly deflate the tires... oh wait that's me.

I'd be reporting that to the city to have that fixed. And until that happens, be aware of the hydrant and not park in front of it. Not just obeying the law, but for all we know, blocking that hydrant could hinder a rescue operation that may be needed to save a loved one.
Wampa Killer In my city an elderly man recently fell down an escalator at a train station. A bystander stopped to help, she was a nurse. While she was treating him, a junkie robber her of her purse. Drug users beyond a certain point, like that, are scum, complete scum who don't warrant you or I risking our lives on them.
So ...If you're dumb enough to park by a fire hydrant, be smart enough to open the windows. If someone steals your shit then at least the cops will be after someone besides you.
on asphalt? A fully loaded fire engine will probably push it still(the amount of torque those diesels make is un-godly, and omg are they heavy when they have 300 gallons of water on board)
this is exactly what should happen if you are stupid enough and thoughtless enough to park your car in front of a fire hydrant I do not feel bad for you at all I am glad the fireman did it and support their efforts 100%
so who wants to bet that the owner of this car is filing a lawsuit against the city and fire department for damages to their car. the owner is just lucky that they do not live in Chicago. in Chicago the fire dept. is legally allowed to push your car out of the way with their trucks. so you wont have to worry about broken windows, just the damage to the front and back of your car because you were too lazy or too stupid to find another parking spot.
Haha yeah they probably did try to sue. They're lucky they weren't charged with criminal negligence and have their license taken away, but I'm sure they don't see it like that.
teacher555555 Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest - selfish and ignorant drivers are just another example of today's 'Generation ME' !!. 'No-one else matters, no-one else exists but ME - MY needs/wants take priority over anyone else's !!'.
when i drove trucks cross country I literally saw in Allentown Pennsylvania a vehicle parked illegally blocking a turn that a fire truck needed to make and the police office pointed at it and the driver rammed it. luckily it was an older mercedes but I was shocked at first and then realized Im driving a tractor trailer and feel like doing that everyday to cars.
@D Gh It's actually a stupid move. Placing the hose this way puts kinks in it. Would be more simple if they just went around the car. Breaking the window is just teaching the car a lesson.
Ok, I agree it makes sense to not park directly in front of a hydrant, but it would surely help to paint some lines by the kerb to indicate the area to be kept clear? I'm sure there must be genuine cases where someone has reversed into a space not realising the hydrant was there?...

So ...If you're dumb enough to park by a fire hydrant, be smart enough to open the windows. If someone steals your shit then at least the cops will be after someone besides you.
In bad neighborhoods, they let their car door open
That way no one breaks your window to steal 5 dollars....
The lady staring at 01:23 was hilarious!
1:22 lol that lady is like dafuq you talking about?
What if I parked an MRAP in front of one?
They would be working on that window for hours lol
Maybe, under the car is a solution?
maybe push it away with their trucks?
no they can't go over, around, or under...they have to keep the hose as straight as possible
on asphalt? A fully loaded fire engine will probably push it still(the amount of torque those diesels make is un-godly, and omg are they heavy when they have 300 gallons of water on board)
Annoying middle aged Jewish woman reporting.
CNN reporter is awful. however this maybe the most Honest thing CNN has ever reported on. I couldn't find any lies.
1:23 the girl in the back is like “what are you doing”
anybody else get an ad for THC gummies with this video?
Why was this recommended to me
Lord Gronor it was for me too weird
it was recommended for you so you will remember this the next time you think about parking in front of a hydrant.
Lord Gronor exactly what I was saying in my head...
Asian drivers, what can you expect . . "no understand engrish"
Wow. Totally not racist at all.
Flawless Native Wow, who cares
uni000ver000sal Umm, I do. You're offending Asians.
Flawless Native Have you worked or lived in Asia, Asians are more racist than the white man! I have my views and you have yours. Fuck off!
How do you know?
Surely their big fancy red hose is less prone to being damaged if they run it under or over the car rather than up against the broken glass? herp derp
CptAwesomeYo That would take more time... It's easier to break the windows and toss the hose through
this is exactly what should happen if you are stupid enough and thoughtless enough to park your car in front of a fire hydrant I do not feel bad for you at all I am glad the fireman did it and support their efforts 100%
How to be an idiot and break the law:
- parks in front of fire hydrant -
- fire breaks out -
*SMASH*
so who wants to bet that the owner of this car is filing a lawsuit against the city and fire department for damages to their car. the owner is just lucky that they do not live in Chicago. in Chicago the fire dept. is legally allowed to push your car out of the way with their trucks. so you wont have to worry about broken windows, just the damage to the front and back of your car because you were too lazy or too stupid to find another parking spot.
Haha yeah they probably did try to sue. They're lucky they weren't charged with criminal negligence and have their license taken away, but I'm sure they don't see it like that.
It wouldn't matter because it's against the law to park in front of a fire hydrant
teacher555555 Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest - selfish and ignorant drivers are just another example of today's 'Generation ME' !!. 'No-one else matters, no-one else exists but ME - MY needs/wants take priority over anyone else's !!'.
Those police were probably high as a kite
when i drove trucks cross country I literally saw in Allentown Pennsylvania a vehicle parked illegally blocking a turn that a fire truck needed to make and the police office pointed at it and the driver rammed it. luckily it was an older mercedes but I was shocked at first and then realized Im driving a tractor trailer and feel like doing that everyday to cars.
0:33 JENNA I MISS YOUUUU 😭💔
Now let's hear the fox version. Lefty firemen wreck real working man's car to save pot plants.
LOL, you think Fox is more biased than CNN?
@@MikeDunn I don't think he does, I think he just trying to make a simple joke. Every major news station is biased.
@@MikeDunn yes fox is worse. Cnn is pretty close though
@D Gh It's actually a stupid move. Placing the hose this way puts kinks in it. Would be more simple if they just went around the car. Breaking the window is just teaching the car a lesson.
@@MikeDunn It's just a joke asshole. Lighten up. Everyone one is going to be be baised to some extent.
NO!!! THE WEED HOUSE!
Ok, I agree it makes sense to not park directly in front of a hydrant, but it would surely help to paint some lines by the kerb to indicate the area to be kept clear? I'm sure there must be genuine cases where someone has reversed into a space not realising the hydrant was there?...
1:22 Woman crossing the road is saying in her head, "Who the world are you talking to...?"
Saw this a few times in the 80s when I was a LEO in Chicago
The hose isn't even strait why the they do that like it curves right after the car
It would curve more if they had put it over, and the flow of water is strongest near the firehydrant.
zach rio do you even know the English language?
dog guy my phone has shit autocorrect lol
That's why you proof read.
