If you compare with greater Toronto area suburbs, it does compare much better in terms of Affordability and what you can get for your budget. Having said that, Kitchener certainly has seen sharp increase in prices in past few years mainly credited to supply shortage.
Certainly worth checking out Claire. Won't be more than 20-25 mins drive from any part of Kitchener. Such a nice local market and a great small town with lots of local shopping and dinning.
I used to live in Kitchener for years then 8 years I moved to Vancouver BC , last year I was thinking to move back to Kitchener, but but … and Vancouver I live by the shipyard so I have the beach on one side the other side I have the mountains for skiing on the cruise ship on the other side of the water I could take the sky train to go to the airport in the winter snow little bit here and there price wise yes it little more expensive but I got more things to do in Vancouver BC
You bet! Hard to beat great city amenities Vancouver has to offer. Kitchener- Waterloo surely has more to do now then before but can't beat the pacific coast and moderate weather. If you ever chose to explore Kitchener, you know where to find me. Have a great the summer! Cheers! :)
Vancouver is much more nice but the sun never shines there so it's not like sunny Ontario. If you can live in a dark grey place then Vancouver is much better, but most people in Ontario like the sun even in the winter.

Kitchener was the place to be in the 90s. Super affordable, barely any homelessness...now it's getting more expensive and homelessness is rising.
If you compare with greater Toronto area suburbs, it does compare much better in terms of Affordability and what you can get for your budget. Having said that, Kitchener certainly has seen sharp increase in prices in past few years mainly credited to supply shortage.
There is also St Jacob market . Very popular

maybe someone knows and can tell how and for what money the municipality of Kitchener-Waterloo manages to keep the houses in such excellent condition
