I don't know how I found you, Toni, but this is a terrific video, and I look forward to the rest! I'm a recently retired, 60 year old Coastal Grandmother!

Our Mom treated herself, my sister and I to a Color Me Beautiful Analysis (outdoor) party with food, friends and family, over 40 years ago. (Most present ended up hiring the CMB analyst for themselves after when they saw how powerful it is). I found it very useful over the decades, with a few updates, including being sub-typed into one of the twelve sub-seasons (they only used the four seasons at my initial analysis). I think CMB is the original and Best personal coloring analysis available. I did eventually drop two colors, most grays (except for the very lightest) and all purples, from my original Summer recommended palette, gray because it felt a bit grim to me and the purples because they’re just hard to style. I also switched from silver metals to gold because I just like it better, I’m pretty close to neutral and only slightly cool, and jewelry doesn’t take up enough room on the body to make much difference (unless it’s really large, which I don’t wear). I think it’s a great starting point for anyone, though, it can just be adjusted for personal preferences. I like this style well, it’s really just a version of the Coastal style we Californians have always worn. I’m always happy in a white, pale blue and taupe (“my beige” for my cooler coloring) outfit, which works well for this style). Here in the north of the state, we need very warm jackets for our cold beaches, so I wear a white down puffer at the beach. I have to watch those Nancy Myers movies that inspired this style! Thanks for your video🙂

I like Alison Bornstein’s three-word style description technique. This can help one identify their personal style if they can’t quite define it yet. It also helps one make better wardrobe purchases, if these personal style descriptors are kept in mind. My three style words are: classic, elegant and feminine. Using “casual” as one descriptor isn’t recommended, nearly everyone wears casual clothes whenever they can these days, and it’s not very specific.

Love your video. Lots of information which you present well. Clever outfit changes. One thing I found distracting was the music which was not really necessary. Look forward to the next one.

Only once in my 50 years of styling has my personal style gone off the rails, when I departed from my otherwise life-long classic style. I was trying Boho to keep up with the local style trends, but eventually I realized it just wasn’t really me. It’s back to classics forever now. Plus, I’m 64 now and I didn’t want to look like an “old hippie”, I didn’t even wear hippie the first time around - it was my Mom’s generation’s style, not mine.

Love this video! New subscriber! At first I thought you were Kris Jenner? However, you’re much prettier.

I like your video, but I think you need a little more enthusiasm… just my opinion😊
