I really love how he has massive Protagonist energy. There's really not a single thing I can think of that makes him unlikable. He is on the "Raven path", even before 621 begins to make their own decisions. It almost feels like we entered his game, rather than the other way around. The ending if you are defeated is somehow only marginally less heartbreaking. Even after you choose to oppose him, ruin your friendship, and try to kill him, he can only send you off with respect and dignity, wishing you a peaceful goodbye into the hereafter, assuring you, during your final moments, that while the future will be uncertain with you dead, he will be there to make sure it changes for the better - and finally, refers to you as 'buddy ' one last time, showing that he still cared about 621; they simply found each other on opposite sides. Rusty is chad.
I honestly legit lost to him cuz my main weapons ran out of ammo, and hearing him calling me buddy and saying he will remember raven made me shed a tear. I honestly hated "Fires of Raven" ending cuz you kill Rusty during it.
Not only that, as you and Rusty clash in your climactic final battle, he has nothing but respect for you as an opponent and all you've achieved up to this point, noting that even with the might of the corporations behind him, he could never have stopped you, and that you were always at your best under pressure. He truly is sorry for how things have to be, but this ends here and now.
@@AuroraAustralis_ yeah, and thats why its my favourite fight in the entire game despite what the implications are. Dont know why, but on my second try the whole fight felt like waltz, but in giant mechs xd
It's a good ending because it's better than the two other endings. Where we become the liberator of rubicon, corps will still be fighting with blood and sweat for thr coral. Like Walter said "Where's there coral, there's blood." The Redguns forces were killed and the Snail was willing to kill his own comrades The Alea Acta ending. What can I say? We changed humanity's fate by coral convergence. I don't know how coral works, but if it can destroy an ac, it can damn well do a lot of harm to a human. We literally spread living gasoline throughout the galaxy basically
The first time i boosted at him he did not stop or used kick/weapon and so i did the same: "he will dodge right?" and boom! we just... clashed, just epic!
God just imagine a scene of Rusty giving the speech about only one person being able to keep up with him and it's just from his point of view he's watching a screen of our character just completely fucking shit up and he's just so proud and happy I can just see it with my soul
Something I noticed 0:22 the way he says buddy isn’t his usual sincere, cool friend attitude, he is pissed at you, and he’s gonna make sure you know it.
no other song in this game fits more thematically with it's fight than this one. it's happy and sad at the same time. Just like the fight, where you're fighting your friend to the death. but you both are exactly where you belong, in your mech. and they're just reveling in it. the sadness of the fight but the joy of doing the thing they were born to be, pilots. just a beautiful roller coaster of emotions
Finally someone done it! Since I've heard Elden Ring boss themes for Rennala and Mogh with dialogues I've been waiting for someone to do the same for AC6. Now I only need someone to do Cries of Coral...
now if only from didn't add the insta-win buttons (Zimmermemes/gatlings + songbird/stun needle) IN RELEASE, MUCH more people would've ENJOYED this beautiful game rather than rush it because of the very existence of not easy, but that titanically easy mode
I rarely used those weapons, I mostly mained duel CHANG CHEN and 1 10 cell missile launcher. Probably not the best weapon combo but throw the moon blade in there and everything is ship shape
After beating the game with that exact wepon combo I had much more fun and a way easier time using different more creative wepon choices... also I have loved this game begins to end playing through like 5 times now not even counting how much replay I did to get all S ranks
By some sheer luck I killed Rusty on my first try. It was the one time I wished I could have lost and let the true hero of Rubicon soar. But it looks like you flew just out of reach... ...buddy
You'll hate me for this, but my first fight against Rusty was my successful one. He stood absolutely no chance what-so-ever. We fight in similar ways. High Speed. Fragile. Aggressive. Light Weight. I run dual pistols, a sword, and a missile launcher. So when we fought, and he couldn't keep up? When I slaughtered him, like I had slaughtered his brothers, sisters, and comrades? I felt awful. I felt like a goddamn monster. I already felt awful for the RLF that I had to fight. When I dropped him to zero that first time, and he popped his terminal armour, and I heard him say "I'll chase the clouds from over Rubicon! Only I can fly high enough!" God, I felt like crying. "You flew just out of reach... buddy..." Hurt me in a way I didn't know Fromsoft could. They had did it. That thing I had been wanting them to for so long.

Yeah, the "good" end. Coral growing out of control with Arquebus dominating the scene, what could possibly go wrong? I'm sure people who couldn't stop a sole Raven in the other end will definitely succeed in finding the solution to the problem within the very, very short time before disaster. Fun fact: if he initialises Assault Boost, you can AB into him again, provided he doesn't use the laser cutter or side dash.
Watching this with hearing the music clearly makes me teary eyed because it's so beautiful

Our only partner and comrade as a Raven and the closest one we'll probably ever get in the AC franchise V.IV Rusty
Rusty was the real protagonist of Rubicon's story. We were a tourist in this world, just a hound looking for a purpose, trying to survive.
the music with the dialogue is just so much better
I'd have loved to have gotten to play as Rusty in AC6 ngl
