You have a lot of patience. The best mechanics have a lot of patience...The upside to that is ,it sharpens your attention to detail and that's always a plus...Glass half full..Keep up the great work....
Reference shows the F-unit (F3,F7,FP7) fleet dwindled quickly from 160 on C-Day. By the close of 1977 all F3s were retired and good percentage of FP7s were gone. At the end of 1978, Conrail had 30 F7As and a single F7B with all remaining FP7s sent to Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority for commuter duty. In 1979, a lonely pair of F7As (1733 and 1788) were all that was left active (with two additional F-units shown stored) of the original 160 F-units from Conrail’s April 1976 beginning. Early 1980 saw those F-units stricken from Conrail’s roster. You’ll find black F-units with “CR” patched lettering (and a few Erie Lackawanna Fs with “CR” covering that road’s identification over its maroon, gray, and yellow livery) and only 1648 received Conrail blue paint. However, 1648 didn’t see “can opener” logos sadly. An accurate Conrail F-unit in blue wears only the patch-service “CR” markings and road number in white.
Mate, it's actually working, where as before it was not. It picked up....I think you've done a great job. Maybe it was like made 10 2 5 on Friday . OK, the motor's warm, I'll stop now and just listen . Cheers mate 👍
I'm not impressed with all the hi-tech sound anyway. I k ow what a big consist of turbocharged v-16's and v-20's in run 8 should sound, and this hi-tech sound, sounds like a bunch of loud switchers. They just don't have that booming bass sound. Sorry, but I know it when I hear it.
Entertaining as always. Thank you. Can you explain electricity on one of your videos? Volts amps watts AC DC etc.. Too abstract for my brain. Also just what happens in a little electric motor and what can damage it. Great stuff
I heard in the chat about the Roco Model Power locos. I have two E-9 drives and one shell. I’m thinking of trying to drop a Rivarossi NJ Transit shell from a dummy onto one of the drives. Nice motors in those, so I agree.
I've heard so many people bears Tycho because of the way they were made, and they think they're a cheap train set I grew up with Tycho, when I grew up you could buy a Tycho train set $25.00 try and do that today, and you got lots of cars whistles cattle crossing gates in all kinds of stuff!, that was a great train set growing up
Not sure if it’s anywhere else in the comments, but I always take a few good pics with my cell phone as I’m disassembling to use as a guide when reassembling.
OK, so I've written about three comments more , and then retracted as the engine kept playing up. But hey, just Lil brush clean and she's haulin 11 wagons. Serenity!👍
It took me a little bit, but I finally found out what was causing the short on that n scale locomotives I was working on. It was the cellophane wrapping. It had a couple of small wholes to where the metal from the motor was touching the frame, and grounding out. That's why it wouldn't short out when I would take the motor out. Too the spare motor I have was a hair too big to fit. I would have had to lightly grind the frame for it to have worked.
Hi SMT, this is Gabe. I have a locomotive that needs fixing has problems with the motor and I don’t know what the problem is so I was thinking of sending it to you so you can fix it. Also, I don’t know your PO Box so yeah have a good day. Thank you.

Thanks for all the information, I wasn't aware of that.
Smt I’m actually working on a Lego gp30 and these videos really give me the courage to do it😊
That's awesome.
I also finished it 2 days ago

Thanks, I wasn't sure if this one was gonna work out.
Great job sticking with it.
Yeah. It's a simple DCC design. Simple to fix. It's not compatible with all this hi-tech stuff now, but im no big fan anyway. I like the old stuff.

Thanks, this one was tricker than I expected.
@SMTMainline oh ya . I think the heat from bad connections at the brushes may have compromised the casing. But you over came, as usual.
Entertaining as always. Thank you.
Can you explain electricity on one of your videos?
Volts amps watts AC DC etc..
Too abstract for my brain.

Great stuff
Great suggestion!

Helpful video as just purchased this locomotive
Glad it could be helpful :)
Loved it!😊

They weren't very well made but did include a lot for your money.

Hey. I no longer do repairs that involve shipment but I'm happy to give any advice you need on repairs.
What do you think about Tyco stuff
It's cool, no one else makes anything like the golden eagle etc however the common power torque drives are not very reliable.
What do you think about tyco engines
They are okay but not very reliable.
EMD CONRAIL FL9
Msr or Mid sodor railway n.o2 is back
Bro come too Edison new jersey dec 3 and 4.the great green berg train show fly into newark.let me know
At 11:36 you forgot a magnet.
I put it back, it just blends in with the casing.
$40? Those went for under $20 new in the early 80’s
$20 in 1983 is $55 in 2024 so I was under the correct amount.
