@@LightFactory738 Mickey Krause called a foul on himself for a double contact on the cue ball as he pocketed the five-ball, which basically cost him his match after the referee did not seem to see it.
Krause may have looked a bit nervy or inexperienced at times over the past couple of days, but he did himself proud in the end. Battled back from 4-0 down against the world number one and then instantly called the foul on himself without hesitation even though he must have been so disappointed to see his chance to win the entire tournament for his team go up in flames in such a silly way. Not bad for his very first Mosconi Cup.
Hey, big hats off and respect to Mickey on calling the foul on himself on the hill-hill game. I think the other players would complain and get a video review, but Mickey didn't hesitate and even had a smile.
American here.. Mickey Krause made himself a lot of fans today in the pool world with that genuine show of honesty. This man has a big future ahead of him and i wish him tons of success. With that being said, the ref was either blind, stupid, or crooked as fuck because he wasnt calling shit!
That's a very hard one to see without instant replay and slow motion. However, I think each coach should have an option to call before a shot like that to be reviewed by replay, let's say one per game/three per match to not interrupt the flow too much.
It is easier for a player to feel the foul of a double contact like that, than it is for a referee to see it and the referee was also having to watch that Mickey did not foul the nine-ball with his bridge hand too, so his eyes might have been darting back and forth. And the double contact comes when the cue ball is up against the cushion or rail and is made when following through on the shot, as opposed to bouncing back off the cushion or rail and hitting the cue tip.
@@PostUp_Time The commentator is watching close up TV pictures, the referee isn't. It is also not obvious anyway, as I mentioned above regarding the double contact.
Ref was watching his hand over the 9 ball to make sure it didn't get touched which is the easier foul to make in this scenario. Hard to watch both balls at once.
He knew the camera close-up was going to catch it and if he tried to pass it off the whole world would know anyway. Definitely made the right career move.
@@seanscanlon9067 The hi res video slow motion replay makes the foul easy to see and the commentator called it out. The ref knew what to watch for but couldn't call it because it was too hard to be sure from his perspective. The player was absolutely sure he fouled because he could feel it in his hands and he also knew the slo mo replay would reveal him to be dishonest if he tried to pass it off.
More players should call fouls on themselves. It's shocking to me how many people even in higher ranking amateur players that don't understand double cues or just feign stupidity to get away with it.
Hey look, USA has to make history to come back six matches down.... A very polite way of saying USA loses again and again and again.....yeah, better team without Oscar some bubble head recently said.
I stopped the video at the 4:28 just to say that I think Fedor has my respect for chosing to be an American player. He chose to be a player that loves where he the plays most....where he lays his head down to sleep the most. How many players on the other team can say the same? Yes I did watch the rest and was already thinking what say because of Mickey's come back. Why he chose high makes no sense you can't get the tip out of the way. That shot is just below center with two tips left soft hit. Low traps the cue ball a little longer but the spin releases the cue ball further to the left not coming straight back where it double hit. Yeah he had the win and I feel for him. I could be wrong about low over high but if we"re measuring things I think below center gave him a better chance of not hitting his cue. The high puts his shaft directly in the way as it came off the rail. With low and the downward angle he more likely to have no contact because of sheer distance clearance above center to below center. The high ball will hit every time.
"How many players on the other team can say the same" ? lol what are you smoking ? he joined America for business reasons (out of need), his country Russia was getting embargoed on almost all competitions because of the war with Ukraine. You take take a moment of a player celebrating with his team mates...something expected and natural to draw your analysis lol.

Double hit shooting the 5 ball @ 22:15 Cue ball comes straight back off the cushion and shooter fails to get his cue out of the way in time, causing the the cue tip to hit the cue ball twice in one shot.
It was not easy to see the foul when the cue ball double contact hits the tip when up against the cushion/rail so that the cue ball is squeezed between the cushion/rail and the cue tip, rather than there being space and the cue ball bounced back off and away from the cushion/rail and hits the cut tip. It is the kind of foul that is easier for a player to feel than a referee to see and the referee did not seem sure and so did not call it, plus he also has to watch that Mickey does not foul the nine-ball with his bridge hand too.
@@seanscanlon9067disagree. It's an easy foul to spot. All you have to do is watch where the cue ball goes. It unnaturally went forward and left when it should have gone back and right of the shot. Ref was watching his hand that was placed over the 9 ball.
These tables are a joke. Miss by two feet and they still go in. This is why you don't see Americans playing outside of the States. They wouldn't be able to put anything.

I love Mickey Krause, absolute unit for instantly calling a foul on himself, great mindset!
