USA! -having said this, I love Jayson Shaw! Had a chance to play him in Reno and he was just a great guy!!! I Love how he embraces his role as the villan in this event!!!! Also love all your content Karl, Thx!!!!!
this was awesome.... Jason just jumped up in my respect category. I liked him before but now... he is sooo just easy. like you want to go have a beer and play some games. he want to share what he is doing and how.
Shaw's personality on the table and towards the crowd doesn't represent how the guy is in person. I met him the first two days during the Mosconi and he was super friendly. Signing autographs and taking pictures with everyone, always with a smile. Changed my perspective on the man.
That JF20-20 is nice looking cue. Also I don’t see the RPG jump cue on the site yet, but I like the looks of it. Can’t wait to see what Jayson’s line looks like, will for sure get one, I love my SMO shaft, and I got to get that Bag, it will help give me excuse to buy more cues 🤣
So, I’ve been looking into a predator for the last year, haven’t pulled the trigger on it because of looking at the JFlowers cues. Of course it’s all preference but how long have you had your JF? How do you like it?
@@tylermassey8735 I have been playing with Jflower cues since 2022. Got my SMO shaft back in January 2024 and I honestly don't understand why anyone would be spending 3x the price of a Jflowers cue on a predator/cuetec cue. The shafts are absolutely on par with other top brands, and the SMO is ridiculously low deflection and has amazing build quality. No regrets on my side
Well I can't say I've had a tip harden in hours but it wasn't explained if it was just put on either. Not that it should but I'm weird I use my newer tips as break shafts to let them work out any compression in form. I have had my Kamui clear med turn into something I break, jump, and play with. Almost a year and going but I have to prep before any serious play. I do like that case. I looked at getting a JFlowers cue a while ago. But it was sold out. One thing you guys never mentioned was those are carbon fiber shafts and it's his first non-wood shaft I've seen him use. Could be wrong. I'm sure anyone here that follows the latest trend will know he's refering to the "SMO" shaft. I'm ok with my 12.5mm carbon fiber shaft but I'd like to have a 13.8mm or 14.00mm CF break shaft. I'm not if it's me but my CF shaft has a small window where it goes from a medium hit to almost a break shot amount of force. Justing getting into the adjustment phase to using only CF shafts. Its fine. You guys did good this year but maybe we'll get you in the future. Keep us osted on his Kamui tips. Oh speaking of tips am I the only person that heard a almost phenolic type sound with Shane's cue? It won't bother me cause I used a Navigator Black break tip til I got sick of explaining what it was that gave it that "tick" sound. Maybe just me. Thanks Karl.
@@basilicashop9377 I have had 2 of my kamui tips harden in the last year, and I live in east Texas. One was on a new Viking from Seybert's, and the other was on a custom David Schmelke from David. How tips are definitely on my list of tips to try. Thanks for the feedback.
Deflection is caused by the mass usually in the first 6 inches or so of the tip of the shaft, so a rear extension shouldn’t have any bearing on deflection. However it can change the balance point of the cue which in turn for the shooter can appear to increase deflection because it changes the way they stroke the ball. I find with a 3 inch extension on I cannot draw the cue ball as much as I can with it off. However when I have it one I tend to also not overhit my positional shots and I shoot better inside English with it on.
They need to take that case combine the front shorter slots into one big one for earl. He’s gonna end up throwing out his back carrying that thing around like he does now
Hey Karl, I have a question. How do you play with bare hand and still kept it dry? I like to play without glove as well but it kept getting wet even if I touch a cup of water.
I always like these what's in the bag streams that you do.. in this one, Jayson said something that I was always curious about.. he, along with other pros, use that 3-inch extension.. Jayson said that using it it "adds" a little deflection to his cue.. could you or he explain that difference???
Usually when adding a weight to a cue, it tends to deflect the cue ball more. Look at it from a perspective of two objects colliding (cue and cue ball), the heavier the cue more it will deflect the cue ball. It's not that significant with a short and light extension st the back of the cue, but it is definitely noticeable at his level.
Deflection is affected by the “end mass” of the cue. So the more weight and mass you have at the tip will deflect the cue ball more. This is something a lot of pros get wrong just because it’s not “that” worth worrying about if you just get used to your cue (which they obviously do) but adding weight to the back of the cue doesn’t affect deflection and is just placebo.
The smo shaft they tested is the lowest deflection shaft on the market not there other carbon fiber shafts just the smo as far as I remember they have a video out there showing it somewhere on youtube or on there actually jflowers website..
@ I’m a j flowers dealer I’m not paid to sponsor videos, yes they are good but they are not the lowest deflection shaft on the market, again on par with cuetec. I am very familiar with all carbon shafts in the current market so this is not just my opinion but over all they are a top tier shaft
What’s in you bag? You can only put three clubs in your bag, which three would you use? I would put a 1 wood, 9 iron and 5 iron. No wait, hear me out. 1 wood is used for long drives but I can choke up a little bit on it and it will drive like a 3 wood. 5 iron is used for middle of the fairway drives, works every time for even a 100 yarder to the putting green, just hit it softer. And the 9 iron is used for high grass and sand pits, like the sand wedge. Works every time. Now you ask, what about the putter? Don’t need a putter because I hit it in the hole from 100 yards out, every time. On those occasions that I come up a yard short of the cup, I go back to the 1 wood and tap it in.
Good one but Karl needs to learn how to listen better. It always seems like he's asking the question, is immediately distracted, doesn't listen to the end and then interrupts the guest with next question or something unrelated, lol.
I would love to see American cue makers innovate a bit more. I don't like to use Chinese equipment in pool, but some of these Chinese cases are just plain way ahead of American stuff.
To be honest, I liked Jason's PERI cue more than this JFlowers. It was so beautiful in its design, and it had the P20 wood shaft on it that plays very good. I don't like all the carbon shafts I have tried so I'll just stick to my wood shafts, being a Mezz ex-pro, a Predator 314/3, and a spare Predator One that came with the cue. There is a "trend" right now with cheaper cues being used by some of the pros. Ex. Carlo Biado plays with a Predator Aspire($429) with a Revo, and Woodward plays with his Cuetec Proof($399) with a std. Avid shaft, just to name a couple of them. The old myth that it's the Indian, and not the arrow comes to mind here.. Lol. Now let's see a "what's in the bag" with my fellow Dane, Mickey Krause! Thanks for this video, Karlito🔥
