Unpopular opinion, but this game never lived up to Ins2, even before Embracer got involved. The art direction and theme in particular shifted way too many times, it's like they didn't know what to do with the game. Man, I wish the original concept of the campaign mode set in a real conflict wasn't scrapped.
i've only been playing the CO-OP gamemode and nothing else, i'm never stepping foot into the versus lobbies at all. I like this game cause i play it casually, like a "keep my hands busy" or something to turn off my brain and just play, and the CO-OP players (if i had to guess) are waayyy more chill, i've met many people in there and were so fun to play with. But with all of that in mind, i know how you feel, i'm also mad and disappointed by the developers, but we can't do much unfortunately. This game had so much potential, but the team just doesn't care, they hate the idea of updating and improving the game i guess.

This game feels like R6 siege amazing concept and game but terrible devs and company that owns them. I still play sandstorm because the gunplay and gamemodes are so unique but man the sweaty playerbase ruins it if they added a competitive mode it would be so happy.

I never found the PVP to be enjoyable. Too much toxicity, camping, and unbalanced matchmaking. Co-op modes can be fun in short bursts, but most of the randoms suck (no surprise) and it’s pretty uncommon to find people that use game chat. I can see the vision that the devs had, but it’s been ruined by lack of content and people that try to play it like Call of Duty. I hope you find a new game to love.
Every damn time too, you get the worst teammates compared to the other team. To be honest, if you just play firefight, i find that you get the best of the game. The firefight players actually communicate and play the game properly. If they added new maps and the gamemodes from the og insurgency it would definitely be a better game Edit: I also think that most of the degeneracy resides in the US servers unfortunately. EU and russian servers are still fun, however for you that makes no difference

While I agree with this game being dead from no new content updates and trainyard being on of the worst maps ever to exist, calling people rats is a skill issue. Its so easy to counter campers and flankers, but nobody wants to take the time to get better at one of the most simplest fps games to learn, the real problem players are the ones who get on and don't even try and that's the best way to describe insurgency playerbase today.

Previously, the studio’s size ranged from around 50-100 employees, typical for a mid-sized game development studio, but small, though I appreciate them making this game, and their effort make this game. Albeit, the layoffs and restructuring are part of broader changes within the Embracer Group, affecting several of its subsidiaries. NWI has built a strong reputation within the first-person shooter genres. They simply lack of updates. The game is definitely playable.

quit sandstorm for the second time last month, it's just not what i was hyped for back in beta. i remember being so pumped and loving this game for a couple years after release, but got burnt out due to lack of consistent content updates. pick it up because my boyfriend bought it and wanted to play it with me since he knew i liked it, and tbh yea i got back on the kick for a bit. insurgency as a franchise just makes me sad now, since there's nothing else on the market quite like it in my opinion.

It’s okay Gunther I respect and understand your decision. Insurgency is basically a campers wet dream, that’s the primary issue now. It’s essentially become a dollar store COD rip-off, not to mention as you said about 50-60 year olds that belong in the nursing home saying straight up the MOST cancerous words ever uttered to man. I’ve been wanting to distance myself from the game, cause at this point this game will remain in this stagnant state of play. Don’t get me started on how immature the playerbase is about literally anything, and that they’ll act like actual children who never mentally developed past the 4th Grader mentality. It’s tragic in all aspects of it. Everything you said about the major flaws of the games playerbase and developers themselves perfectly outline the same exact complaints I’ve had about the game for a while. Insurgency on console is sooooo much better I switched two years ago and never looked back way less sweats and yesterday I dropped 44:11 on farmhouse domination so many new players recently too
You should definitely check out Arma Reforger dude, the WCS and Vietnam servers are straight up your alley. Check out some of OperatorDrewski's video's lf you're on the fence about it. Squad's great but Reforger is just on another level imo. The content would undoubtedly go hard.
the 2014's release is way much better. No "dlcs", no skins. You should check it out If a game has cosmethics etc, I just don't even play it. This is a cancer on every single game nowadays. Everything is the same, even games that have nothing to do with each other, like CoD, BF and Squad. The SOLE "current" game that is still bearly playable is Post Scriptum, but it got way worse since OWI (same devs from Squad) took over. (it used to be perfect for me until November 2023, even though it was "dead" for most people). Also recently came back to BF4 after almost a 6 year hiatus, 'cause I just can't stand any modern games anymore.
I loved playing Insurgency Classic almost more than sandstorm. The feeling of Insurgency running on a different engine and having moving vehicles was insane. Then they scrapped the helicopter concept and then changed every detail down the bones. All we have now are scraps of a game that was once the king of semi realistic fps games.

Thank god I’m not crazy. I got into sandstorm PvE and decided to jump into some PvP. I was getting one tapped from…. Who knows where. Guys laying in spots you physically can’t see them in. It got to the point where I wouldn’t even move and I STILL couldn’t find people unless they were rotating to the OBJ. Not fun.

I feel the same way to be honest. It's a fun game and I always enjoy it, but I always get shitty teams versus a bunch of sweats. I'll have all the kills on my team and the rest of my buddies are 6 year olds that don't know what a controller is, let alone how to shoot. I still play it and enjoy co-op with my friends, but the PvP is rought right now.
This is my routine. Get one of my first match is shit for example a camper sits in the same spot then I get off and play something else. 😂😂😂 I’m at the point where crossing/hideout is overrated. If my team sucks I get off and play something else. I still enjoy the game it’s fun

their microtransactions aren't even that good lol. a few look cool but like the hazardous shit doesn't even come with a functioning gasmask, you have to have a gasmask in your loadout and put it over the fake one whenever you are running into smoke or gas. also almost all of them are a double-edged sword. On one hand the PMC and the Dealer look pretty damn cool, on the other the jeans on the PMC and pretty much every inch of the Dealer standout like a sore thumb. would it kill them to add better camo, or hell, give us more credits per level up?

Honestly, i dont mind microtransactions. Sandstorm is a nieche game with barely 2k players. Servers are not free and ppl who pay for the game are very few as well. Tho We have been asking for autoshotguns for years, no results, Wanted a forest map for years, no results The new conent is nowadays so dry as well... Who asked for the ksg? Who wanted a shotgun that differs by none to the old shotguns except the higher mag cap...

I got over 2k and most time i die to people that have less than 100 since they play in seemingly non-meta way by being where i wouldnt accuse anyone of being ( I call it new player advantage and mostly they loose only because they just ignore objectives to focus for their KD rather than team tbh. Most low lvl toxic players now are binary: loosing - oh no u actually play the game f u touch grass or when they win: High lvl lost the game you suck get shit on. LMAO i strictly used to vote precinct or crossing just because I really FW the insurgency classic maps. I’m really disappointed that people find the game more as a camp fest than to make aggressive pushes that look super cool. The console version I heard is having a lot of complains about the push only being 10v10. Idk if they fixed it but I hope that maybe they would add some ground breaking updates for the game to make it more entertaining. If we could physically fly the helicopter and shoot from the gun that would be freaking awesome.

the 2014's release is way much better. No "dlcs", no skins. You should check it out
If a game has cosmethics etc, I just don't even play it. This is a cancer on every single game nowadays. Everything is the same, even games that have nothing to do with each other, like CoD, BF and Squad.
The SOLE "current" game that is still bearly playable is Post Scriptum, but it got way worse since OWI (same devs from Squad) took over. (it used to be perfect for me until November 2023, even though it was "dead" for most people). Also recently came back to BF4 after almost a 6 year hiatus, 'cause I just can't stand any modern games anymore.
I loved playing Insurgency Classic almost more than sandstorm. The feeling of Insurgency running on a different engine and having moving vehicles was insane. Then they scrapped the helicopter concept and then changed every detail down the bones. All we have now are scraps of a game that was once the king of semi realistic fps games.

I was getting one tapped from…. Who knows where. Guys laying in spots you physically can’t see them in.
It got to the point where I wouldn’t even move and I STILL couldn’t find people unless they were rotating to the OBJ. Not fun.

I feel the same way to be honest. It's a fun game and I always enjoy it, but I always get shitty teams versus a bunch of sweats. I'll have all the kills on my team and the rest of my buddies are 6 year olds that don't know what a controller is, let alone how to shoot. I still play it and enjoy co-op with my friends, but the PvP is rought right now.
This is my routine. Get one of my first match is shit for example a camper sits in the same spot then I get off and play something else. 😂😂😂 I’m at the point where crossing/hideout is overrated. If my team sucks I get off and play something else. I still enjoy the game it’s fun

their microtransactions aren't even that good lol. a few look cool but like the hazardous shit doesn't even come with a functioning gasmask, you have to have a gasmask in your loadout and put it over the fake one whenever you are running into smoke or gas. also almost all of them are a double-edged sword. On one hand the PMC and the Dealer look pretty damn cool, on the other the jeans on the PMC and pretty much every inch of the Dealer standout like a sore thumb. would it kill them to add better camo, or hell, give us more credits per level up?

Wow i assumed people that play the game had any insight into the state of game and its studio. What was your in-game name though. I got over 2k and most time i die to people that have less than 100 since they play in seemingly non-meta way by being where i wouldnt accuse anyone of being ( I call it new player advantage and mostly they loose only because they just ignore objectives to focus for their KD rather than team tbh.
Most low lvl toxic players now are binary: loosing - oh no u actually play the game f u touch grass or when they win: High lvl lost the game you suck get shit on.
Funny how you notice old players more than actual cheaters that show up literally in every lobby like you cant play a 4h session without running into one lately and after ban buy new account and repeat the cycle which made me write steam guide how to get them banned because most people just don't do anything and like new players knowing their teammate cheats just take advantage of it instead of vote kicking them.

I do hate that every Frontline match with high level players devolves into a spawn trap fest. I feel sorry for the level 14 guys who are getting destroyed by these lvl 3k middle aged men that won't play aggressive. If you're playing against me, a fckn lvl 900, it's ok, get inside your rat hole, but if the lobby consists of 9 sub level 50 players, please, don't do it. You're just scaring away potential players.
If you're a high level player in a noob lobby, PLEASE, just push the fckn point normally and sht on them noobs normally. Let them experience the fckn game. And stop playing Crossing every fckn match. What happened to "random or gay"?
LMAO i strictly used to vote precinct or crossing just because I really FW the insurgency classic maps. I’m really disappointed that people find the game more as a camp fest than to make aggressive pushes that look super cool. The console version I heard is having a lot of complains about the push only being 10v10. Idk if they fixed it but I hope that maybe they would add some ground breaking updates for the game to make it more entertaining. If we could physically fly the helicopter and shoot from the gun that would be freaking awesome.
