Solid Axle 02 Cadillac Escalade on 42” Swampers

- When Josh first asked us to build him the ultimate 4 door full size Family Truckster, we initially said “NO”! When he showed up with an Escalade, we felt like we didn’t have a choice! There was no way we could pass up building a Caddy on 42” tires, beadlocks, one ton axles, and coil-overs. We quickly got to work with the pile of parts and axles he had already purchased from us! As we had imagined, the ½ ton Escalade chassis was nothing like the ¾ ton trucks. We were forced to custom design and build many parts, such as the frame plates, leaf spring hangers, link mounts, etc. We were lucky that this 2002 was a 2wd, and not all wheel drive. With the help of a 4x4 tail shaft and a 3.8 Atlas transfer case, we were able to do the 4x4 conversion. Here are a list of some of the parts used: 2.5”x12” Fox coil-over shocks, 2.0 Fox air bumps, 1350 CV front driveline, 1410 CV rear driveline, 2005 Ford Superduty Dana 60 front axle, 14 bolt rear axle, 5.38 gears, ARB front locker, PSC Hydro assist steering, WFO Radius arm kit, WFO shock towers, and a WFO HD steering kit. Keep your eyes out for this beast, he plans on going to Moab and the Rubicon trail. It is not a pavement pounder!

I have an 03 Escalade with 1 tons, 3 link suspension front / rear, king coilovers, hydraulic bumps, arb lockers, artec trusses and all the other goodies on 37s. I had to one up y'all a bit and put an LLY Duramax with a ZF6 six speed manual trans in mine though. Put it together in 2017.
Drives like a dream, 75 mph down the freeway with one finger on the wheel. No vibrations, warning lights or steering issues. Mostly sits in the shop though, I rarely get out wheeling anymore.
I had to go check it out lol that thing is 🤘with the Duramax/ZF6 combo..Would love to have that as a cruiser/adventure rig

I have an 05 Escalade ext as a daily. I’d love to do this… can anyone give me a rough estimate how much this project goes for?
$15-20k at least, probably more with all the custom work done.

@@kylerobinson9789 it’s a lot of fab work and this was a one off, the rear is even leaf sprung - if you wanted to 3/4 link it, it would be more.
why dont you have a 1/2 ton kit? ive got a "kit" on my 1/2 ton and i have no issues.. not running a radius arm yet. but will be in the future
