I combine my Screwkey Shackle Padlock, and Chain making practice, into making the Finished Piece, a Ball and Chain!
I’m using 120mm long , 10mm (3/8ths) round stock for the Chain, and the lock itself is made from a piece of Black pipe, 24mm square mild stock for the action and ends , 12mm square mild stock for the shackle arm, 6mm round stock for the rivets, 25mm x 3mm mild flat bar, a compression spring and a “bottle” screw,
The Channel I was referring to was Joey Van Der Steeg. my apologies. you can find his channel here:

Great work! Tied everything in very nicely and it looks rugged! But it reminds of Addams Family Values: Morticia: So you still desire me after all these years? The old ball and chain? Gomez: Forever! Morticia: I'll got get them.

Nice work! I'm not sure about steel content, but you could try annealing the ball in a good fire pit. Rake coals and ash over it, and leave it, until the fire has been out for a day. Otherwise, I think you handled this project well. Great job 👍😀⚒️

Great video, its really satisfying to watch heated steel being hammered and changing form. I was wondering how they make the steel ball with spikes on it, and how the actual ball is formed, I bet it's really compressed and compacted tight. Your video appeared as the top search for the term 'blacksmith ball and chain'.

G'day mate, historically, while the balls were cast, the spikes or flanges on maces and flails see brazed on. This ball would be too large for those uses, ha ha, but thanks for letting me know this is the top ranked video for that search! Glad you enjoyed it!

Outstanding Improvement on chain making their it shows how much repetition can improve skills. Try taking that other ball and normalizing it or annealing it and see if it gets softer because I'm still like to see you do a blind rivet
