How to Forge a Bow Shackle - Blacksmiths Essential Skills -

Following on the basic blacksmithing lessons, this week we use the skills we learned from sections and the unwelded eye to create a bow shackle. Showing all the steps and little tricks that we use to make them so that you can start making your own blacksmith projects at home. Material- 300mm of 8mm round mild steel bar
38mm/ 1 1/2in set down on each end
drawn out to 55mm/ 2 11/64in

How do you Bind this shackle together. Is it just that you add a lock??
