I wish all videos were this great right to the point shows you everything. It was a thing of beauty and I don't even have to rebuild mine. I'm just going to watch it again
Thank you, thank you for putting this up. I had to take my shifter apart to get a stuck cable end removed and the whole lot t went, "ping" all over the floor. This is very similar to mine. Cheers
I don’t like to leave comments but this is the best video about the tune up of the shifters.... any lube on shifters .???.??.... good job Mr sick biker...
Great detailed video, thanks for this, I need to rebuild my front shifter lever as it sticks on the way down...nice to know what order the parts go just in case I forget something.
How similar are the right and left shifters? I would like to shift my rear derailleur with my left hand on my 1x setup, and I'm wondering if there's any difference other than the number and position of the teeth on the wheel with the indexing notches. If I were to machine a replacement for this part (a mirrored version of the one in the right shifter) , do you think there's any other differences?
The case of ergo power is engraved with veloce in white letters, but are the all parts inside the case a record one ? I remember that the model number of the case of veloce are different from record one ...
Would love to see this done on Shimano XT or XTR trigger shifters. I have looked everywhere and there is nothing really out there. I don't even expect a co,mplete disassembly, just enough to clean and lube it. The thought of my expensive shifters slowly gathering dirt and oxidizing drives me nuts if I can just maintain it.
what is wrong with my 10sp veloce right shifter if I cannot shift to the larger sprockets (easier to bike up hills) anymore? I can upshift to smaller sprockets it seems but not the larger sprockets in the cassette. Which part is broken or whether this is something that can be repaired?
I have a 10 speed Centaur from circa 2006 - so the older style, have things changed much because I want to replace a broken left shifter. Any advice much appreciated.
Unbelievable, nice to watch, but I can imagine losing bits, forgetting the order, putting back in the wrong place. Could be an absolute hell, but am tempted as my right hand lever is not working.
Bad advice is worse than no advise at all. It sounds like GrayF0x is either asking a legitimate question (to which you might be able to provide a reason for why no grease), or trying to help by adding more useful info to your video.
@@LazyGrayF0x Oh shut up, you baby. The video is good, he's just asking a simple question why he's doing it this way. You are allowed to ask questions or criticize without having to make a video yourself.
Either you are a master of doing this or Campy stuff is way easier to repair. I had to repair some Shimano Alivio shifters while ago and I almost got a stress peak by doing it so (specially when you gotta assemble the retraction spring (the big and last one)). Cheers!
Found this very helpful! Just rebuilt my Campy Record 10 right lever, my ratchet wheel on the lever itself, the teeth were a bit worn and I was skipping shifts, also felt like it was getting stuck between shifts, I flipped it and now it's engaging properly. I lubed very lightly with grease all the teeth surfaces, the surfaces under the washers and a tiny bit on the springs, very lightly. It's now crisp and tight. I also used this gentleman's video to do the spring at the end, best Campy hack ever!!! th-cam.com/video/0hYfDybcTRw/w-d-xo.html

God bless you. You saved my bike with this video. 21 year old bike, my only road bike, thanks!!!
thanks for this video, that helps me a lot. Just one question, no grease?

Brilliant detailed video, it’s a complicated mechanism but you explain it well with your hands 👍
Excellent video. With the help of this video I successfully replaced a broken G spring.
I just went through this exact same process, man it truly is a pain in the ass.
Perfect video, simple to understand, easy to follow, thank you!!! Great work!!!
No grease? Or do you put in some liquid lube later?
his tutorial only shows the order of parts assembly.
So where do you recommend lube be applied and what type would be best?
@@fantanaman Can someone answer this? Currently I'm also rebuilding my shifter and still need to put in grease, but where exactly?

So... not a single drop of lube in ??

Hey sickbiker , my right ergopower doesn't click anymore when i downshift. What do i need to replace ? Thanks
Thanks for your time!))
Impecable , gracias por el video . Saludos
10 points , thanks for your video . Greetings from Uruguay
Super video. Niestety po obejrzeniu roboty się nie podjąłem. Skomplikowane na maksa.
At 8:19, what is the thing you're pushing into the lever called?
Thanks for this video! I fixed my shifter, now it works :)

Wow! Thank you so much for uploading this! Helps alot
Amazing video, I just fixed mi shifter. One of the little metal parts that appear on minute 2:22 was broken. Thank you very much!

Why re assembling without greasing and replacing the hood?
Can’t you just say thank you for a useful video and do your own thing?
@@LazyGrayF0x Done that way isn't useful... And If you can't stand constructive criticism, you shouldn't record such videos...

Just jump from where the spring is not in to where it is in: 5:40 Sounds simple enough to me.
now i know how to reassemble shifters i will never own... lol
Grease?

cant seem to get the 3 clicks on the finger shifter, no matter what i do

I'm gonna do it with Shimano shifters as well, but perhaps Campy is indeed easier.
