What a positive view on things, I'd probably still be in the fetal postition wailing. As he said, it's only a car, but now I can make it faster! Mr Positive 👍
I'm not sure you can call a 3.8l V8 engine that chucks out 650hp, revs to 8500rpm and weighs only 200kg weak because it blew up when you threw another 200hp at it.
Yeah those motors are solid... His tuner blew it up... they've blown up tons of mclarens... Company is called M-Engineering...
@@Videos-tl8uc yeah these engines can actually take this power pretty easily. Must’ve been the tune
@@johncena-hq1ti 100% the tune.... The car was fine on car trek then he got it "tuned" and it exploded immediately... The strength of the motor didn't change before or after the tune... The calibration blew it up... If the motor was too weak for the tune, a good tuner would know that and calibrate it accordingly lol... Yeah... the tuner destroyed his 500k McLaren and blew up a 100k motor.... funny thing is that a MP4-12c with the same 3.8L motor goes for 100K for the entire car in working condition SMH... And Tavarish didn't even mention who tuned it and other people will suffer the same fate SMH And then McLaren gets a bad reputation... shit is f'd... just blame the tuner and move on... No instead he blames 75% oil temp lol... If blocks exploded everytime you floored it with 75% oil temp then there would be a whole lot of blown up cars on the road... Tuner popped the motor... end of story... not their first... Charged him 10gs to do the tune with their programmer hardware dongle not to mention the pure turbos for another 10gs plus install... Sooo he paid like 25k plus just to get a 100k engine bill and a broken special edition mclaren... real nice! But yeah you get all these "features" pops and bangs and rolling antilag and rolling burnout mode and blah blah blah and congratulations your mclaren has a hole in the block... But yeah! blame the rods! it's their fault!
You guys are wrong all Mclarens with tune or upgraded turbos blow up
Check all the data all Mclarens have bad rods they are not good for tunning at all
Even stock McLaren have rod issues
That's why in newer model year of 720s and other models they have slightly upgraded the rods but still not good enough to handle extra power so it's always advisable to upgrade internals of a McLaren before tuning because it's not a supra 2jz
@@mrinaldutta1812 ROFL... not a supra 2 jz... find me a tune and downpipes 2jz making 850 wheel on pump gas runing low 9s 🤣 Dude... it's the tuners blowing these up... could you or should you strengthen internals... sure.. but calibrations need to account for the strength of the components in the vehicle... not ones they wish were in the vehicle... Face it dude...tuners wanna make big power claims to get customers then when rather then break it to them what reality it, they do a glory pull on the dyno to get the number they promised then take payment... when it grenades a week later the check has already cleared... and in M's case, they are typically remotely tuning it so they're isn't even a shop to go complain to... and McLaren dealers won't touch you blown motor tuned car so you praying to find a shop capable of the repair... there are only a handful that I know of that actually have the tools to do it... and it's not a cheap endeavor... There are good tuners out there... they actually tune in house on their own dynos and set single tunes for pump gas... not 6 map setups with data logging and rolling burnout mode and rolling antilag and e85 and all this nonsense that's good for about 4 glory pulls before it lets go... like all those draggy times are on race gas+meth+nos ... They don't actually roll them around town like that daily... but they do claim oh yeah 1000 wheel hp mclaren fastest ever 8 seconds blah blah... but they roll around at 800ish wheel on pump... and start switching maps for races and pop the motors... hilarious... seen it far too often... Here's another one lol th-cam.com/video/hzRG2ri6VGg/w-d-xo.html
The bay_lambo IG shows Gintani tuned that car … must have blown it up like they did the dde 720s… yikes… wonder how many others they’ve performed a gintani special on... now he's got an M-eng remote tune... wonder how long that will last... you think he'll get to 1500 miles before it lets go?
I think spaceX calls that a rapid unscheduled deconstruction
rofl
The 675 experienced a
*"rapid unscheduled disassembly!!!!"*
Almost blew up idling in the drive thru! That's pretty bad when you are not really stressing the engine and it blows up.
7:46 "Well, there's your problem...." 😅
I absolutely love the LT and considering some of us can just barely be in the market for one we definitely would not be able to afford to fix it if it blew up. I think il stick to looking at porsche
8:01 that's so thin it shouldn't be called a block anymore, it's just a shell
VIN Wiki might want to look into lighting people of colour.
*Flies off a cliff halfway across the country, no damage.*
*Does a moderate pull on a side street outside his shop, grenades the engine.*
Only you Freddie....
I’ve heard this story in 23 different ways and it’s still amazing. Tavarish is going to have two serious McLarens before Amelia ‘24 (t)rolls around.
If anyone can fix it you can Freddy.
those rods were real jerks. it'll be interesting to see what freddy does with that one. maybe he has space for an engine machine shop by the pool?
Pretty much the top of the range in terms of car youtubers.
Tavarish: 'aaah, this is gonna be expensive"
Ed: "premier financial service is the best!"
Nice way to push the sponsor ;)
Now Freddie will build the entire engine in titanium and all other parts
oh man that SUUUUUUUUCKS! Sending positive vibes your way.
Sounds like he's describing the valves hitting the pistons as the engine comes to a stop 😅
I love how he's wearing a demolitia shirt.
The funniest part is that Ed's already offered to possibly trade it for the El-Chapo Murder F-1, wherever it winds up. (Seriously, a car like that won't hidden forever!)
Build it better! Make 900hp the right way.
All I heard was Hoonigan colab for a twin turbo LS motor swap
Why do people think they are better at engineering than the actual engineers?
Appropriately rocking the demolitia t-shirt while blowing the engine 😂
The good news is that while it definitely hurts the budget, it's a new opportunity for some high quality content.
I don't think it was the oil temp .
feel bad for giving this video a like lol cause i feel so sorry for Freddy after he put so much love in to that car .but if anyone can build it better and faster it Tavarish when he finish a build. cant wait to see how the p1 turns out good luck Freddy 💣💥👍
Freddy Still can Smile, You will get it done !
Give it to Eric from I do cars to tear down
This won't make anything better... but you need to know that you have done a service by confirming how the structure of this engine (and others like it) has limits that no one else should push!! If it had happened to one person, there could be any reason... but that this has now happened to you also will go down as official guidelines now. So incredibly sad it had to happen, but you have helped record the limits of engines like this. Your video record will be classic!!!
name the car "content creator" as it s just a magnet for good content
You think it had anything to do with jumping it off a hill?
Is it wrong that I’m excited to see two McLaren rebuilds come out of Freddys at the same time?
I die a little every time Freddie goes over this event. Over build this time brother. ✌
An ls swap would be so dope
