  • Chardonnay is the white grape of Burgundy and this moderate growing region of France is where you find some of it's greatest expressions. Names like Montrachet, Chablis and Pouilly-Fuissé. This is the region where the chardonnay grape developed and today it's made in a range of styles. From bone-dry wines with minerality and acidity to full-bodied wines with complex tropical fruit, citrus and spice. In this program, discover the white wines of Burgundy.

I'm not disrespecting Chardonnay from California, Australia, South Africa or wherever , but Burgundy is one of a kind, nothing compares to that

The terroir is all. My ex-boss could nail a terroir by taste alone. Unbelievable.

I am enjoying all of the LCBO videos. Informative and well produced. Unfortunately, the more I learn, the more I realize how little I am likely to ever know. Enjoyable none the less!

To think the host Michael Fagan has managed to get his life together in such a big way is great. Going from breaking into Buckingham Palace to hosting all these great wine shows is amazing!

Sometimes a wine from an intemperate climate can be bitter and the bitterness just never goes away. Trying alternate vines in better climates can help.

nice - I live in france the wines from regions seems to compliment local food recipes more than most countries - the climate and soil in france has quite a range from alps to southern coast - few places do that maybe italy - also noted some younger wine producers here working on organic vineyards even champagnes no chemicals no additives - usually small vineyards but tried some exceptional unknown wines that might be classics in twenty years

Holy grape, what's with the loud music? Loved how this documentary started, the explanation of the different areas of vineyards and the details of the soil where they're grown, also the cute Canadian voice. Sadly can't continue watching this with my ear problems, the sound mix is seriously out of control :(

On the whole a good video. The author does follow the official ranking a bit too much I think. There is many a premier cru that cannot compete with a village Meursault for example. The producer is often more important than the vineyard. I'd rather have a Meursault from Comtes Lafon, for example, than a premier cru from a bad producer. The "Mozart" music in the beginning of the video is awful by the way. Please play some good Mozart, or something American if you want.
