The song was written about a pub in Leeds, (England) called forde grene was largely a really happening place where people would have a good time. But it could kick off, or get a bit violent hence the I get knocked down, but the unwritten rule was even if someone decked you, you get back up again and carry on, no hard feelings to whoever flooded you. The pub was before my time but I used to drive past it everyday on my way to work, the building anyway it`s now a continental supermarket.
