    Bravo! I thought it was just a turntable at first, but my jaw dropped when I saw the whole camera move. This is a next level commitment to automation :)

    Great selection for kinematics! This makes sure that slop on one axis does not couple to the other. Also you learned all the skills necessary along the way. Bravo! You should feel proud!

    This is amazing! Looks like the detail/quality captured is great, but you also have that huge usable volume.

    Great job! I'm working on a similar project and I can really appreciate and relate to what you wrote in the description. The journey alone is worth it my opinion. Keep challenging yourself, we're are capable of incredible things!

    Tiny suggestion, I suspect the orange colour of the LP filter holder will effect the light and could cause (however subtle) “colour contamination” as it bounces onto your subject? Probably best to cover that with a coat of highly reflective silver or white paint? Nonetheless, completely in awe of how cool and ingenious this rig is, well done sir!

    When I saw the 1st video you've made about your process and problem-solving skills, I knew that you are capable of such feats and much more... I was also thinking while watching the previous video about how to make this automated and versatile... glad to see that you did it and congratulation for all the new knowledge gathered in the process... I am pretty confident that you will make great use of it in the near future in many other projects.

    Part of me (small part) is just pissed because I've wanted the determination to make one myself for some time.
    Mostly though I'm just embarrassingly giddy - Fantastic work!

    Was schematics or code ever released for this?
    Either way bery nice, looks like an extremely good model at the end for very little time spent
    Props on essentially automating scanning in the void

    Any updates on this project? Such a nice work, please share it, don’t throw it in the bin 🙏

    • @TextureSupply
      @TextureSupply  ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate the support :) I did throw it in the bin, it's partially dismantled because I needed the parts for other things. However, I am making a new one, not fully autonomous, but it's portable (fits in a small flight case) and it captures real reflection data. :-)
      Still prototyping, need to replace my shitty 3D-printed designs with milled aluminum to get it nice and sturdy.

    Hey! Awesome video. I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this based on other comments I've read, but do you have schematics available for this rig? I am very much interested in building one myself and would be willing to pay on Patreon / send you some money. I'm just a freelancer looking to animate using Blender. I've done some of my own scanning this last week using the void method and have a 3d printer. Buying some basic files / schematics / a BOM would save me a ton of time in research. Hoping to hear back from you! Excellent work and I wish you the best of luck moving forward.

    Helt otroligt rig! Skulle gärna betala för det jobbet du lagt ner om du sålde 3D modellerna och en guide med referral links till alla komponenter och delar.

    I really respect that amount of work and learning you put into taking this from nothing to an almost entirely self-contained unit. Is there anywhere I could look at photos of the setup as a whole? I'm in the process of building a very similar style machine. From what I see in the video, you have your object on a continuous rotation while the camera takes photos. I have mine setup to rotate a few degrees and then take a photo before repeating that until it completes 360º. I was worried about potential blur in the photos with continuously rotating the object. What are your thoughts on this?

  • @TobiasIpsenFX

    Ayy haha you got the same 3d printer I got! Also going to start making 3d prints for my camera! :D Nice scanner btw! Very impressive stuff :)

  • @danny3man
    @danny3man 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very nice, but shouldn't the piece stop rotating whilst the camera changes location ? Or it's using that time to rotate it to it's initial position ?
