i would like to add a bit about the digging thing. when you enter the dig site, there are always a few random patch of ground that are arleady dug up.. i find it easier and faster to get items when you dug those holes.. also the color of dirt when you dig indicates what item you'd get.. silverish dirt indicates you get gems, reddish dirt indicates artifacts, a dullish bluish silver indicates coins, brownish indicate fossils, and gold dirt indicates gold artifacts.. i might be wrong but this has been consistent throughout my daily mining grind.. great tip video Paw 😄

My only problem with the gift giving is that there is little to no rewards for reaching max friendships with some of the people nor does it change the dialogue… :( yes there were a few items and requests to unlock but nothing amazing or actually beneficial
When I was about 9 years old playing the original, I did not befriend Nina within Year One and it traumatized me still to this day hahahahah. Doing her justice now 😊
Also, it’s so great to know about friending the villagers. I never really gifted to anyone except who I wanted to marry. I’m excited to make friends with everyone! I’m excited to learn what the deal is with Nina and Pui.
Hey sweetie! Thank you for this lovely list, so many useful tips 💖 There’s one thing worth mentioning, which I learned the hard way. Apparently witnessing Muffy’s (Molly’s) 9th heart event locks you out from triggering heart events for all other marriage candidates. It still lets you marry someone else, but you won’t be able to see many many cute cutscenes anymore. It’s obviously possible to watch them on YT, but for me it seriously ruined the immersion and I decided to restart the save entirely 😢

The game is still very slow paced compared to most other SoS/old Harvest Moon games but the good thing is the last 1-2 years is a bit quiet/not much to do so if you do decide to speed through some days you will probably have extra stuff to do at the end of the game 😊I can't believe it's been 20 years since the 1st one got released.. time flies!

One of the easiest characters to gain hearts with is Molly for some reason. I gained 9 hearts with her, by barley talking to her lol & now we’re getting married bc she’s the only one I’ve gained enough hearts with by winter 😅 Also every marriage candidate has 3 skills that you will pass along to your child that (if I remember correctly from the GC version) will determine what the child does to help around the farm/what they do in their free time! Also a good thing to keep in mind when choosing who to marry!
Yes!! I have been so confused how Molly keeps falling in love with me even though I've only been talking with her while Grody, Matt and a few others I'm spamming gifts xD Very good info though! I'm wanting to marry Gordy or Matt 1st because they feel the newest

Great ideas! I'm currently testing out fishing with the basic rod in different locations. So far the waterfall seems the best but I'm not done with testing yet. I'll write this down as a video idea
I was able to give flowers multiple times a day to those who like them!! Super awesome! Spoiler don’t read if you haven’t finished the first year: Idk how but there was no cutscene regarding Nina?? I had a bunch of cutscenes but nothing regarding her or the new characters that move in. Super weird bc I swear there was cutscenes for those things before :(
That is super good!! Flowers are fantastic but be careful because you wanna save the some of them for hybrids in the future. Related to the spoiler below I could have sworn I saw a video of the Harvest Sprites and her speaking briefly and then being teleported away or something. Maybe it was a normal cutscene but I'm not sure. If the other new characters dont have cutscenes then I'm not sure :( I hope they didnt remove them

Is there any advantage with havinf ducks in the pond though? Do they give duck eggs? Does the pond have fish? Seems like an asthetic choice instead of a practical one for a first purchase
Ducks do give eggs but its more of an asthetic choice if I am honest. If you really wanna min max beyond this you could mainly just invest in cows and make a ton of money without any other animal. I like to get a few of different ones just for variety but the balance of money in the game goes out the window once you unlock more tiers of the cows
I found the feritilizer maker really useful! If you already have a pasture growing fodder, you essentially get a cycle of free fertilizer. I started getting A and S rank crops after I bought it. I didn't know you can only give 5 gifts a day. I was severely under-gifting, and when I started trying to do it more I noticed people would refuse me sometimes. I wonder if that's why.

@@Pawserve idk tbh! I’m still new to the game so idk if the pasture can keep up with how much fertilizer I may end up needing. I hear you need a lot. One field is poor and one is good so that effects it too. Some may prefer to save up for the barn, cause it only increases crop sale price so much. Point is, I don’t wanna be inaccurate and mess up your video.

I would say focus on others just in case. I'm only entering the end of the 1st year but I'm going to guess some villagers may have more gifts/items to give than others

Try brushing, feeding it with your hands and snuggling with it. I'm not sure if it's dirty or something but the washing mechanic is in the game but it takes animals a bit longer to get dirty. Thats my best guess
It didnt seem like van payed any more for items than the sell box 😭 can you still haggle with him? I only tried twice and was like “i will not be selecting all of that again ill just take what he offers” lolol
He does but he's VERY picky when he offers to haggle. One time it took me 9 times to get him to do it and I was trying to sell like 6 items.. I ended up just selling for the base if he doesn't offer to haggle within the 1st few attempts 😭
Hit Tab if your on keyboard and mouse and you'll see a little person on the menu. It'll give you an entire list of the villagers and what not. Same with animals
@SpecialInterestShow does it auto select in front of you if you simply press the button in a row? If that doesn't work then idk :( I think I misspoke and hoeing/watering is single tile but it auto selects. We get better tools later on so it won't be permanent ❤️
@@Pawserve yes, it at least does that! Which is very convenient. And if you hold the button to walk backwards as you do the stuff, it even is kinda good at auto selecting behind you too iirc

Good to know! Yeah I was trying to find the cooking skill but I've been unable to do so. I did grab some recipes from categories I can't cook from but I still cant use them. We've made a lot of milk soup and it hasn't leveled up yet so I'm thinking the game wants us to make new recipes before leveling up but it's just a guess

@@Pawserve To upgrade to the Goddess Sickle you'll need a gold object from the dig site, and is only doable at earliest beginning of Spring year 4.

Idk how but there was no cutscene regarding Nina?? I had a bunch of cutscenes but nothing regarding her or the new characters that move in. Super weird bc I swear there was cutscenes for those things before :(
That is super good!! Flowers are fantastic but be careful because you wanna save the some of them for hybrids in the future.

I could have sworn I saw a video of the Harvest Sprites and her speaking briefly and then being teleported away or something. Maybe it was a normal cutscene but I'm not sure. If the other new characters dont have cutscenes then I'm not sure :( I hope they didnt remove them

Is there any advantage with havinf ducks in the pond though? Do they give duck eggs? Does the pond have fish? Seems like an asthetic choice instead of a practical one for a first purchase
Ducks do give eggs but its more of an asthetic choice if I am honest. If you really wanna min max beyond this you could mainly just invest in cows and make a ton of money without any other animal. I like to get a few of different ones just for variety but the balance of money in the game goes out the window once you unlock more tiers of the cows

I found the feritilizer maker really useful! If you already have a pasture growing fodder, you essentially get a cycle of free fertilizer. I started getting A and S rank crops after I bought it. I didn't know you can only give 5 gifts a day. I was severely under-gifting, and when I started trying to do it more I noticed people would refuse me sometimes. I wonder if that's why.

@@Pawserve idk tbh! I’m still new to the game so idk if the pasture can keep up with how much fertilizer I may end up needing. I hear you need a lot. One field is poor and one is good so that effects it too. Some may prefer to save up for the barn, cause it only increases crop sale price so much. Point is, I don’t wanna be inaccurate and mess up your video.

Try brushing, feeding it with your hands and snuggling with it. I'm not sure if it's dirty or something but the washing mechanic is in the game but it takes animals a bit longer to get dirty. Thats my best guess
It didnt seem like van payed any more for items than the sell box 😭 can you still haggle with him? I only tried twice and was like “i will not be selecting all of that again ill just take what he offers” lolol
He does but he's VERY picky when he offers to haggle. One time it took me 9 times to get him to do it and I was trying to sell like 6 items.. I ended up just selling for the base if he doesn't offer to haggle within the 1st few attempts 😭

How do you see the hearts? How do you know you have hearts with someone?
Hit Tab if your on keyboard and mouse and you'll see a little person on the menu. It'll give you an entire list of the villagers and what not. Same with animals

@@Pawserve I can hold down for seeds and fertilizer, I believe, but it isn't working on tilling and watering, oddly. (I'm on switch tho)
@SpecialInterestShow does it auto select in front of you if you simply press the button in a row? If that doesn't work then idk :( I think I misspoke and hoeing/watering is single tile but it auto selects. We get better tools later on so it won't be permanent ❤️
@@Pawserve yes, it at least does that! Which is very convenient. And if you hold the button to walk backwards as you do the stuff, it even is kinda good at auto selecting behind you too iirc

I believe it's summer of year 1! Takakura should greet you in the morning of Summer 1st unless they changed it. I wonder if they kept in the different colored horses

So the sprites will stop giving recipes if your hidden cooking skill level is low.
Good to know! Yeah I was trying to find the cooking skill but I've been unable to do so. I did grab some recipes from categories I can't cook from but I still cant use them. We've made a lot of milk soup and it hasn't leveled up yet so I'm thinking the game wants us to make new recipes before leveling up but it's just a guess
@Pawserve that was my thoughts too but some of these recipes require hybrid crops to make, so it's been difficult.
