It's rare that a film biopic also qualifies as a horror film; Oppenheimer has once of the most chilling final scenes ever put on film.
Cillian and Downey Jr. deserve Oscar nominations. And Nolan should get one finally.
They're all gonna get nominated, but only Nolan will win. It's definitely a frontrunner for Best Picture though.
@@nigelcoleman7666why will only Nolan win?
And picture of course
@selinakyle2368 Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, and Roberto DeNiro, Ryan Gosling. The actor categories will be uphill.
@@nigelcoleman7666cillian Murphy still had a better performance then all of them tho
All I can say about the atom bomb was damned if we didn’t, damned if we did.
Exactly!
Cillian Murphy is a remarkable actor. His portrayals of characters such as Oppenheimer, Robert Fischer, and Jonathan Crane, famously known as Scarecrow, are truly exceptional.
He's also fantastic as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders
Small correction, the budget was 100 million, not 100 billion.
Yes))))$ it is a mistake, and my editor supported me 🤪🤣😉
@@EmmaReactions Uh oh, editor should give you a discount. 😁
They should give Christopher Nolan 100 billion to make a movie. Think of how epic that movie would be!
@@modrenwarefare would be law of diminishing returns
The subject matter is intense but I was amazed how good this movie was. The music scoring was incredible. The “Can You Hear the Music” montage and “Destroyer of Worlds” music at the end by the lake with Einstein, those were beautiful.
Its hard to choose but my favourite scene is probably when Emily Blunt faces Roger Robb and the delivery is so perfect, when she goes immediately from hesitant to latched onto his mistake was just so in character and savage.
After I saw the movie in theaters, I had an urge to rewatch the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still because of their similar themes
I watched this in the theater on a small screen and then I had to go back for an iMac screen. Amazing. Choosing the lessor bomb over a more powerful bomb but bearing the guilt and also a message of warning - and in the end silenced. A complex story for us especially in a movie (I’d say film) - bravo to Nolan - cast and crew for the vision, perseverance and bravery to tell this timeless cautionary tale.
I'll have to watch it again, but as I recall it does follow history fairly closely. I do know that in time Oppenheimer did get his reputation back. I believe that the threat of nuclear weapons is what has kept the major powers from going to war against each other.
You mentioned "AI" and atomic weapons. The movie "War Games" - from the 1980's - the plot involved early AI and "Thermonuclear War".
Watching most of the reaction: Emma is just about the prettiest woman in existence. OMG.
Something I try to keep in mind about those scientists... every single one probably knew 20 people killed in Europe and the Pacific in WW2. Some came from towns where literally every young man they ever knew were gone. And Japan was never, ever going to surrender... Such an awful, impossible situation... :/
Theres a video on TH-cam about "The Terrifying True Scale of Nuclear Weapons" it shows from the smallest nukes ever detonated to the biggest.
I really appreciated your thoughtful reaction, thank you.
My pleasure!
Terrific reaction Emma... can't wait to see your next reaction! This waa s truly exceptional film -- so many A-list characters collaborating... particularly Emily and Cillian, wow!
As to your blunt question: was it more moral to drop the bombs or refrain? Speaking as a former history teacher & military veteran I'm in the 'build it & drop it' camp, but I would never revel at the introduction of nuclear weapon tech, nor the deployment of such (even in the direst of situations). Nuclear weapons technology was, tragically/regrettably, inevitable... Thankfully, we've not destroyed the planet in the period since.
Chillian Murphy is my favourite actor i love peaky blinders I'm from india🇮🇳
Fantastic movie! Best of the year for me so far!!!
First time viewing this epic film 🎉 I have a brother to taught wrestling at Berkeley ❤
Best movie of the year so far. Went to see it 3 times in IMAX.
It's even better if you're a lover of history and science.
Great reaction Emma!
great reaction emma
I'm surely going to rent this.. I need a new fix!!
It’s quite remarkable that New Mexico, once a lesser-known state just two decades ago, has now gained significant recognition, thanks in part to the popularity of “Breaking Bad” and the influx of film productions. New Mexico boasts a rich tapestry of historical events, from the pivotal Trinity Test to the vibrant International Balloon Fiesta. While the Roswell incident remains a topic of debate (one I personally remain skeptical about), the state’s natural wonders like the Carlsbad Caverns and the Sandia Tramway add to its allure. Let’s not forget, New Mexico officially joined the Union on January 6, 1912.
Now I hv become death, the destroyer of Worlds.

Requesting American Splendor! It's a fantastic film that's a portrait of an artist.
Very good reaction
They have doke this to every scientist that every government has dealt with.
"Bedazzled ".
" Four feathers".
They didn't know it would work or just be a dude. The A-Bomb was all theoretical

Thanks
I believe you are first, Emma! Wow! I have yet to see it myself so kudos! If you haven't yet seen: Inception. And Sunshine, directed by Danny Boyle.
I'll check it out!
Very good film, but a little too long. But, I appreciate the masterful filmmaking of Christopher Nolan. Great reaction! 👍🏿
You are wonderful Emma
😘
Emma Reactions I'm glad to see you again.
Hello!!!!!! How are you today?

You are clearly one of the most important and best people on TH-cam!
She is damn good 🎉 she lets it play out and respects the audience
😘😉💃🏼
The editing triggered an epileptic seizure in me like a strobe light... 😢
I highly recommend checking out TENET (same director). If people thought INCEPTION was confusing, this one ramps it up to 11.
Yeah, Tenet is nice.
Just recently watched this . Good film . Didn't understand it but enjoyed it 😂. Always lovely to see you Emma .😊
Budget 100 billion? 😂 🧐
Millions ☺️😉🤣🤣🤣😘🤪
For my taste, this film would be perfect if Chris left out all the commine scenes
I really liked the film Oppenheimer. The physical UHD edition will even arrive soon at home for the collection 🎞️💿🎥
The only thing that bothered me a lot about Oppenheimer is the explicit scenes of sexual relations, nudity and sex of the actresses Blunt and Pugh, Really those scenes of sexual relations and nudity are unnecessary and were also uncomfortable and annoying. I really feel sorry for those two actresses and even more so for Pugh because she was in controversy and then cut her hair. They did not treat the two actresses well for doing that explicit sexual scenes 😢
I hope to know your opinion and response Emma
Sex and death,,,inextricably linked
Nobody forced them to do it, they are adults
Oppenheimer was, in fact, a Communist. He ghost-wrote an op-ed arguing the Soviet invasion of Finland was a good thing. I have a hard time feeling sorry for him.
Unnecessary sex. Communism was very popular in the US in the 30s.
???
Virgins be like:
I saw this in the theater & I thought it was pretty okay. Actually, I was kinda disappointed because people had overhyped it. It's an alright movie though.
It's movie of the year for me the acting was tremendous
Nice reaction Emma, very controversial film, so much American history. 🤔🤍
