I live on Los Feliz Blvd. a couple of miles west by Griffith Park. I've been to Tam O'Shanter many times over many years. Fine food and atmosphere if you have some money to spend though it is reasonable for the quality. Walt Disney lived and worked in the area when he arrived in California. This was his place where he regularly dined with an entourage. I believe the booth they used regularly has a plaque in memory of those golden years.

a little bit of trivia... the red-haired woman was played by Jan Shepard. Her husband in real-life is Ray Boyle, a.k.a. "Dirk London." His name is a little further down in the list of credits (he played a cop in this episode of "Highway Patrol", but he was in "Zombies of the Stratosphere" with Leonard Nimoy in 1952. Nimoy played a Martian in that early film). Ray & Jan were a married couple when this show was made and are alive and still married to each other.

The whole duplicate key narrative is based on a faulty premise. Broderick: “Well, the lab reports no sign of illegal entry”. What sign would that be? Slim-Jim the door (no marks), jump the easily accessible ignition and starter leads on the back of the ignition switch (under the dash), and off you go! -1958 Fords had no steering wheel lock. Ask me how I know (my dad had a ‘55 Ford sedan!). So simple, even a caveman could do it,,,

It’s not really a ‘service’ station is it? One thing I didn’t like, I think it’s an American thing, the rude self entitled way motorists honk their horn the second they pull up on the service station driveway. How rude and obnoxious. No manners and it’s treating the driveway attendants like second hand citizens and beneath the motorist. The same as Americans ordering in a diner in that time like in this series of Highway Patrol (things haven’t changed). “GIVE ME ! A ham on rye hold the lettuce extra mayo, pepper no salt! ‘ GIVE ME! a coffee ! Give me give me give me! Disgusting! ‘Operator PUT ME THROUGH to 996471! and make it snappy! No please or thank you, nothing but demanding and rude! Americans are so rude and entitled and treat people in hospitality like dogs and trash! Nice old cars everywhere, but @10:42ff there is an early bird, er Volkswagen Beetle, with interesting liveries at that. @12:52 it's gone. Seems to have been a very long interrogation.
In the sixties and seventies, there was literally no film shot on location without one or two passing by or parked somewhere in the background. And then, much to the chagrin of quasi German Herr Trump, all those AUDIs, MERCEDESs, PORSCHEs and BMWs started their invasion of the country and he seems to be thinking to himself: "How dare my subjects buy a foreign car! Schrecklich, schrecklich, indeed, and a personal insult. I'll put an end to this, since, after all I am Il Presidente."
