Another review, and a few more notes that slipped through the cracks: -Most real FNCs appear to use flared takedown pins (like ARs, where the right side is wider at the end so you can grab onto it), but it looks like VFC copied the few that do not. -Some users have reported that their upper receivers are also tight towards the rear of the track, but significantly enough that it impedes cycling in full stroke. Short stroke is unaffected. -If you need to remove the magazine catch, there is a very narrow grub screw that holds the mag release button to the mag catch, visible from above. Remove the screw, then gently pull the button off with pliers, and the mag catch will pop out the left side just like an AR. -The pistol grip screw has a hex head that is a bit finicky to access, but as it is standard M6 threading it can be replaced with an M6x50mm socket head screw to make swapping grips easier. We'll update this comment if we have any new information- or learn anything further on the magazine issue described in the video.
I'm glad to see FNC making a comeback lately, especially with Indonesia thinking about making one for export I may still have a chance of getting one and it makes me extremely happy
I like how I dont even have money for a gbb rifle or airsoft gear in general, yet I still watch this guy just because his voice is relaxing and his videos are entertaining
I've been on the fence about getting an FNC and I think you've just sold it to me. Mainly for the Unreal/Unreal Tournament music and MSF loadout! Excellent review as always.
I own a real one and haven't played airsoft since high school, but damn did I watch the whole thing through lol Airsoft is so much cooler than it used to be.
I love the dry and subtle humor of your videos ! One detail : FN STANAG magazines have slightly different stamping lines that don’t reach the bottom of the mag. This wasn’t replicated here.
Ah man, one does not understand how long I've been waiting for this gun in a GBBR variant when I've been stuck with an AEG version that was from the 90's After watching two animes, a distinct mobile Gacha, and a fifth Tactical Espionage game, it convinced me enough to get an FNC. Oh, and some obscure heist film.
I've watched the 4uad review and VFC have a habit of using loctite for the grub screws. They suggest a heat gun at 200-250°C to loosen the glue and save damage... It was good to learn the history of the steel. Thanks for taking the time to record that 👍🏻👍🏻
What causes the gas out presented at 37:30? Not enough rest between firing/reloading? I was planning on running mine with 10 mags in a SADF P83 Battle Jacket (though not full autoing at all times)
Hey man, would you consider making a video showcasing the collection, talking a little about each piece? We always get to see sneak peak of the wall, but never the entirety
I love that it's the *exact* pattern of FNC from _Upotte!!_ (anime and manga both). FAL pistol grip, straight trigger guard, no bayonet lug, regular dust cover, rounded-nub selector, and oval mag release (I didn't even know those last two differed between FNCs until this video). Just need some proper FN-pattern STANAG mags to complete the look (they only exist as AEG mags). The G&G AEG instead has a Minimi pistol grip, winter trigger guard, bayonet lug, non-nub selector (older-pattern, despite the grip/guard being newer? FNC details confuse me), and an odd half-grey finish. I'll definitely be trading out my G&G for a VFC!
Hi Catgut, the problem could come from the mag route being pushed up too high by air pressure and the nozzle hitting the routes instead of sliding on them. Because normally the VFC mag route is designed to rise and fall as needed to increase airseal capability
I got mine recently and oh boy it's a solid beast. Great video, been waiting for this. Question; how the heck do you get the flash hider off to install a suppressor? You know... because, it's not long enough already.
I previously owned a G&G AK-5 and enlarged the holes on the front of the handguards to affix an MLOK->picatinny segment for a white light. Food for thought
It's interesting when you were talking about the V3 magazines needing to have a part moved in order for the system to work properly. It sounds and looks extremely similar to the way the WE Apache series stop on empty function works. It also has a component that needs to be reset or a loaded magazine won't fire when inserted. Reference Badabing's WE Apache review for a good explanation of this! Interesting how they both seem to have the same manipulation thing. It's actually become a part of loading when I'm using the Apache to pull that tab down before inserting a magazine just to make sure they work.
@Explosive Enterprises if we can get our hands on either the replica or schematics, we could design the launcher. Shameless plug but we also make taggin compatible projectiles :)
Not sure if this is a stupid question (or a stupid place to ask it, most likely yes considering I am using the youtube comments section) or not but: Do you (or anyone who reads this) have a good recommendation for a GBB M16A4, or something similar (IE with 20" or at least relatively longer than usual barrel, while still having rails for mounting optics)? I personally am not as big a fan of the tinier carbines but I would prefer to still keep some degree of rails on the gun. Only thing I've been able to find so far is the Cybergun FN 15 M16 that fits the bill but the price tag is suspiciously low and I can't find any coherent reviews on the quality / functionality / realism of it. It is very likely I have missed a million better options due to a lack of experience in scouring the internet for the perfect gun which is why I am asking. If you've got a tip, or hell even just a pointer to a better place to even ask for this then that would be appreciated :)
VFC has a M16A2 coming out sometime this summer- swap that over to a flattop upper and presto, A4. We don't expect the internals to differ from previous VFCs so you can refer to our M16A1 and 733/Mk18 reviews for details.
Depends on how much you're willing to put into it. I'm working on building a VFC A4 and it's been a money sink. I used the M733 as a base and ditched the upper for a standard M4 upper. Ordered a DNA 20" Gov't profile barrel with a GHK hop chamber, a DNA A2 front sight block (be careful as the cross pins need to be modded a little to properly fit), a CMMG delta ring and barrel nut and a standard A2 stock. For the M5 RAS, I bought a real KAC set off the HRC Discord. I have safe/semi/burst working as well
I don't know if this is something that changed in the second batch as mine has a low 1000,s serial number but nozzle screw came heavily threadlocked to the the point where even high heat wouldn't get it to budge, just something to note
I recently bought the VFC M16A1 expecting poor accuracy like you warned of in your review, I, however, got pleasantly surprised when I could comfortably hit a 30x30cm target at >40 meters, perhaps there was and update to all VFC systems? One problem I had that the Hop-up was stuck at it´s minimum out off the box, which was fixed rather easily by taking it out and putting the hop arm properly into the adjustment wheel.
At first i thought, well my WE SVD is bit long, maybe fnc will be good cqb bbgat as i need one. Then you show it against other guns and instantly i think, maybe another one...
Very well informed video. I used to play Airsoft with the Ares and G&G version, got myself a real one and worked on it for the military. It's a long love story ! Those were sturdy, reliable and accurate rifle and are dearly missed now that it has been replaced with the Scar... Haven't seen the VFC replica in real life to really judge but it looks wayyy more authentic than the older AEGs. Here are some things out of my head tough : The real handguard usually have wobble, it got somewhat fixed in the belgian military with an "enhanced" model that has welded inner parts to give it a better grip on the front around the gas block. The usual grenade sight helps hold it in place too, the later version only folds from the right side and didn't help tough. Those later model handguards were also sometimes upgraded in the belgian military with small plastic picatinny rails screwed onto the plastics sides (you just have to replace the original rivets or screws with longer ones). You could then attach a small flashlight and, maybe, use an IR laser that will "hold" its zero (altough at first, the picatinny meant for mounting optics on top of the receiver was used to mount an AN/PAQ 4 laser sight when using the rifle with NVGs). Those were used in Afghanistan, from 2010 and on, iirc. The stock is supposed to be really rigid, maybe you should try a stronger spring (it should be quite strong), on the real one we might had to replace some parts of the hinge but that was to fix some issues when the stock is folded if I'm not mistaken. I've seen some buttstocks with an enhanced texture for a better grip against the shoulder, like a very very grainy paint. The pin holding the hammer spring in the lower receiver is actually made of aluminium on the real fnc, the colour might differ from the others sometimes (blueish dark anodisation). The 3rd burst on the real one was for example used to blindly shoot into a room before entering it while being able to control the recoil from an awkward position if a Minimi wasn't available for that job, that sort of very niche situation, a very well engineered mechanism but with limited application.
I used to run a old STAR/ARES FNC. honestly was a nice rifle, got it for a song cos the gearbox was locked up. it took 2 separate weekends and about 6 beers to get it running 'reliably' (aka DON'T bother with the burst mode) but for about 100 GBP (at the time about 200USD 10 years ago) i was happy with my purchase, came with the railed forend (might be a option with some shims for the gas one if you want a lightweight handguard? though was quite rickety even on the AEG) the optics rail and 10 mags. well the triple X movie was watched recently so while i didnt have a C-More sight i did have a M115 ELCAN optical sight (the one with the clicky knob and illumination dial on the side) and a beta C-mag. for the few games i took it to, quite enjoyed using it as a ersatz LMG with the addition of a harris bipod. but then a friend after watching HEAT decided he really wanted a FNC and offered me his KA FAL with 10 mags and a ton of upgrade parts. including the parts to convert it into a IDF romat rifle. so did the swap. but was a nice rifle (so long as you didn't use the fancy burst mode, they literally put a reset button in the wiring loop to spin the motor when it locks up) TLDR: maybe a old ARES/STAR FNC AEG railed handguard would fit but would be a very 2000s aesthetic rather than modern M-LOK
God damn. Now that VFC has released CO2 PMAG, this thing with an eventual steel bolt + the entire piston also being steel is gonna be a monster recoiling gun. (until something breaks, but worth it)
Hi I managed to replace my barrel with a full steel one but I just cant remove the flash hider. Idk if it's also glued in place. Do you have any idea of how to get it of ?
Do you happen to know why sometimes the 3 round burst just goes on semi? And have you checked yours if the barrel is not straight? Mine came with the barrel leaning to the right a lilttle bit.
Whats your thought about SRC Zaros m4 gbb. Its use 2 co cartridge in one mag forged receiver out of the box with a price tag og 650ish usd ( available on tiger111hk ). A reviews of that unit would be fantastic. Thanks
would you recommend shopping from swit airsoft? I know a youtubers from other countries use it but didn't know if it was a good cite for airsofters in th US
I know you guys are not a fan of we tech gbbrs, but i have heard good things about their open bolt system. Is there any chance you guys would check them out so we can have a no-nonsense review?
its shitty zinc fcg destroys itself, you can replace it for an arm and a leg for steel parts, the steel parts will destroy everything around themselves. you then buy a marui or vfc.
We don't actually hate WE (check out our Desert Eagle video if you want to see basically nothing but praise for a WE), and many WE GBBRs can be made into perfectly fine replicas with the addition of sufficient aftermarket parts. The two big questions are always whether it's worth the time/cost/effort, and what WE brings to the table as compared to other brands for a given model, particularly for things like ARs where you have multiple good options to choose from. We're definitely interested in checking out the new V3 of the 'open bolt' system and seeing how that stacks up against the VFC and TM.
Ahhh Yes. The as close to the swedish ak5c in a GBBR version we are gonna get. And yes the charging handle does make a VERY pleasing sound irl on the real steel version aswell :) amazing platform.
welp fuck me, the securing screw drilled at angle on the outer barrel was glued so well it literally bent my allen key and then stripped (that was after trying to heat up the glue with a hot air gun too). Not sure how to fix that. Tried drilling out the security screw but just kept breaking bits. Guess I can never get to the hop unit, if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
If we have anything to say about the guns you review, is there a possibility of you reviewing the VFC HK53? Its one im looking at but, 900 bucks without any clue is... a bit of a risk
Soo it looks like it terms of GBB collecting, VFC is still a good choice, sad that i have to import the V3 models within EU cause here in hungary its older models or a quintillion different WE guns
Another review, and a few more notes that slipped through the cracks:
-Most real FNCs appear to use flared takedown pins (like ARs, where the right side is wider at the end so you can grab onto it), but it looks like VFC copied the few that do not.

-The pistol grip screw has a hex head that is a bit finicky to access, but as it is standard M6 threading it can be replaced with an M6x50mm socket head screw to make swapping grips easier.

Not sure how to fix that. Tried drilling out the security screw but just kept breaking bits. Guess I can never get to the hop unit, if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
THE TRIPPLE X Movie joke made me laugh
If we have anything to say about the guns you review, is there a possibility of you reviewing the VFC HK53? Its one im looking at but, 900 bucks without any clue is... a bit of a risk
If your paying 900 for a hk53 your getting massively scammed
@@opairsoft8100 oh i was definitely not planning on it
Soo it looks like it terms of GBB collecting, VFC is still a good choice, sad that i have to import the V3 models within EU cause here in hungary its older models or a quintillion different WE guns
What sort of strap setup do you have on that alice belt? It's incredibly drippy, and I'd love to copy it lol
That's actually a SPI/E harness worn under the belt. Hideo Kojima has a thing for it, along with its predecessor, the STABO harness.
We’re do you get GBBRs like the Vfc/Vipertech model 733 and Vfc m16
