Heavy / Proto-doom metal band formed 2008 in Sweden. Ghost is the name of a devil worshipping ministry that - in order to spread their unholy gospels and, furthermore, trick mankind into believing that the end is ultimately a good thing - have decided to use the ever so popular rock music medium as a way to achieve their ends.
Standing motionless and anonymous beneath the painted faces, hoods and robes which their sect demand, the six nameless ghouls of Ghost deliver litanies of sexually pulsating heavy rock music and romantic lyrics, that glorify and glamorise the disgusting and sacrilegious, with the simple intention to communicate a message of pure evil via the most effective device they can find - entertainment.
In May 2010 Ghost were contracted to a UK based gramophone company called Rise Above Ltd, who swore an oath stating that they will assist the group in the task of spreading their musical blasphemies through formats such as Compact Discs, Long Playing Vinyl Records and something referred to as Digital Downloading, whatever that is...
The first Long Playing Ghost album "Opus Eponymous" will be released in October 2010 and it is understood and agreed that Rise Above Ltd will spend money on magazine advertising, retail marketing and will employ the services of music publicity specialists in order to expose the music of Ghost to the wider public.
Specific attention will be paid to targeting people (research suggests these are most likely to be adolescents) who have a void in their life, perhaps caused by some form of emotional trauma or upset, that can be filled by the music and philosophies of Ghost. In time, these easily manipulated children will come to share the views and goals of the Ghost ministry and can prepare their own plans for the downfall of humanity..."

First, I'm not a teen (just to avoid ambiguities) and I think that listening to a band hardly could drag people to hell or to any other place. It's just music and I really think there are other kind of activities that DO bury people in a place worse than hell, well if there is one worse that this world we're living in. Just relax and enjoy the music.

how good do the drums sound at the start
Many drummers play like that. Gene Hoglan and i have a friend at my school who is a lefty but plays on a right handed kit. The Drummer for Machine Head also plays this way.
@egarran Unfortunately not, the identities of Ghost aren't publically known, but their from my hometown, so I've heard a thing or two from well informed sources.
@Mertketenci Duff (Guns 'N Roses) and Phil Anselmo (Down ex-Pantera) are also big fans of the band. And it's easy to understand why, they're simply amazing. And how can they possibly humiliate metal when they aren't even claiming to play metal...?

@egarran That is not true, however, it's the frontman from a band who are good friends with mentioned black metal-band, and who played as opening act for them on several shows in Sweden last year.
I miss the original ghost band they were more dark and a band you wanted to see now there just different good thing they at least went back to papa emeritus caracter

The problem with that is the term "satanic" isn't really defined. You can have some people who'll think everyone who listens to rock is a satanist. Satanism is really just opposition to Christianity, but gives a face to it that offends Christians. Most people who'd consider themselves satanists just embrace his ideology in the Bible and how he's portrayed by Milton.

@egarran His drumming style is very similar to somebody famous in metal, yes, but he's a "nobody", all members of Ghost except the singer have only played in demobands before.
actually no one knows who is in the band. there are many idea's but no one has the facts or the proof to back any of the idea's up

Yeah the Satanism is definitely tongue in cheek and entirely theatrics. It works so well for this music. Catchy, easy-going rock. I can't hate it at all.
