Making the COOLEST Arbor Press

  • Stock arbor presses are so BORING! So of course I made my own. I basically wanted something showy to IMPRESS my friends (groan) and to spice up my shop, and I've really wanted to make this for quite some time.
This took course over 3 months, and I think the final cost was around $120. I'm guessing total load rating is about half of what similar arbor presses are rated for (as the drive gear is about twice the size of standard presses) but I don't really care about that. I'm only using this currently to press 1/32" pins into some watch parts, which it's massively overkill for.

    Looks great. 1+ subscriber.
Where do budding builders find build ideas or plans? I've got a small selection of machine tools but limited time. I don't want to reinvent the arbour press every time I think of building something.

Thanks for the sub! Unfortunately I don't have a good answer to that, as I'm usually reinventing the wheel :P I do keep an idea/sketch journal that I jot down any and every build or design idea I have. It's fun to cruise through that when I need inspiration.
