Making my own Trayvax Roam clutch (They stopped selling them)
I promised my wife I would get her the leather Roam clutch by Trayvax... unfortunately it looks like they've discontinued it. Fortunately, I'm just starting to get into leatherworking myself, so this seemed like a sufficiently complicated starter project to dive into.
I'm super happy with how it turned out! It is slightly too tight in a few places, but I'm hoping with use it will stretch in somewhat.
Also the wife loves it, so we're all good!

I've had this idea in my head for a while now, and I finally just did it. The maze is machined out of brass, and the watch case is stainless steel with a sapphire crystal. I would have put a strap on it, but I just sold my last few, so waiting on more to arrive. Check out more of my watch stuff here: www.brace.design If you would like me to make more of them (so you could buy one) be sure to le...
Best Ball Burnisher Build
มุมมอง 26K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is my design and construction of a custom tungsten carbide ball burnishing tool for the lathe. With burnishing you can typically get very clean and uniform finishes on metal, which makes it a very useful technique to have in your toolbox, especially if you care about final results. Making the COOLEST Arbor Press
มุมมอง 2.4K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Stock arbor presses are so BORING! So of course I made my own. I basically wanted something showy to IMPRESS my friends (groan) and to spice up my shop, and I've really wanted to make this for quite some time. This took course over 3 months, and I think the final cost was around $120. I'm guessing total load rating is about half of what similar arbor presses are rated for (as the drive gear is ...
Spindly to Sturdy: Upgrading My Taig Lathe
มุมมอง 2.2K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
I love my Taig lathe, but it's kind of a cobbled together monstrosity. So today, I'm going to make it slightly better! The tool post I've been using thus far is pretty janky (but has somehow lasted 2 years) and the motor mounting plate is literally a piece of scrap I found and drilled some holes in. So let's make it better! Don't forget to like and subscribe, Follow me on Instagram: instagram.c...

Making a Custom Machinist Square with Nomad 883
So simple way...i like it. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for a brilliant design!
Can this be used for grinding like operation and controlling the tolerence limit?
with that run off did you manage to do it? :)
у патрона дико большое биение!
Could you advise me on the best way to treat/seal all the plywood in my campervan? I’m building it’s all out of plywood and want to stain it all to seal it and treat it but mostly make it look sexy like that 😍🤪
This is cutting board oil (food safe mineral oil) they also sell cutting board conditioner which is a mixture of cutting board oil and beeswax. Use the oil first and conditioner after or just use the conditioner. Unfortunately plywood is never going to look as nice as good quality hardwood
I would first sand and wood fill the plywood to a smooth surface. Then pick a nice stain color (maybe test a few to see what you like best). Follow up with several coats of a clear, UV resistant urethane. Some people sand again in between urethane coats with a fine grit, but it just depends on how smooth it turned out. Plywood always comes out a little different than hardwood, but you can get some nice results. I suppose worst case scenario you could buy some veneer and just cover the plywood completely haha
If you want a really cool looking finish you could try ebonizing the wood. Make a jar of black tea with an entire box of tea bags, brush the tea on all of the wood and let dry (do this 2-3 times). Now take a jar of white vinegar and throw in some steel wool pads and let that soak for at least 24 hours, brush the rusty vinegar on the dried tea plywood and it will turn into a beautiful dark black color instantly. Then just let dry again and coat with oil👍
@@somanyhobbies cheers for the reply dude! Nah I’m not covering it in veneer haha I really like the grain of the wood I know it’s just plywood but you can’t really build out a campervan with much else so I want to stain it and protect it as it is. I’m just not happy about having to sand absolutely everything inside the van which I already live in! I’d have to complete empty the whole van and I don’t think that’s feasible!! Basically I need to do summin that doesn’t require me to sand it all first! 🙈😭
@@bensmith7278 thanks man. Yeh I get that totally but the plywood already looks pretty nice tbh so I want to protect it more than anything! 🙏🏼
Absolutely
Yet another beautiful homemade tool built by you. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
Not sure why that would be a manufacturer error when it was clearly user error
Your voice sounds....SO different recorded hahaha
I know it drives me nuts! Haha
The BLOB. It silently attacks all 3d printers in the night.
Beautiful work. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎

This happened to me😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Oh no! Were you able to clear it?
@@somanyhobbies the thermoster and heat sock are wrecked, but thankfully thats all.
@@AndrewPlayz-qn6dn That's decent. I'm finally getting the parts to get mine up and running again
Elegant in its simplicity.
Very nice, and clever design. Well done, and thanks for the free drawing. I will definitely make one. Cheers from Australia.
Glad you enjoyed it!
بسیارعالی بودولی اگه همون قسمتی که با برنزبودباcncدرست کردی,بادست وبدون دستگاه میساختی خیلی خوب بود،درکل عالی بود👍👍
What's the name of that techno rock song an artist ?

Will this be useful with plastic and opaque material for dices
Yes, if the material is machinable you could use this same method
You should make and sell these ........i would deffo buy one
Look at it!
Another Tangent Jim copycat. Tons of copycat vids, not one mention of who inspired it. I have the materials to build one, but my finishes have improved so much over the last year that I really dont need it anymore.
This is great, but some explanation along the way would be even better such as sizes, depths etc.
Very interesting. Something I have not tried to make yet. Good job
Thanks, it was a fun little project. It needs to be adjustable to be a truly useful tool
Very nice work sir
Very nice work. I really need to acquire a milling machine myself.
Beautiful brake. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
Beautiful job. We shared this video (and part 1) on our homemade tools forum last week 😎
I don't know if I should laugh or cry.... you sir have given me the incentive to get a camera for my Ender Printer.
Heatgun.
And or hustle run a preheat until it starts moving. How it got on is how you’re gonna get it off. It sucks, but it’s worth the time trying to chisel it off. Trust me when I say, you do not want to hammer it off. Heat is your friend.
lol I’ve had this happen. 28 hour build so I left, did whatever. And came back to it still printing and a glob like this. Wasn’t that hard to clean surprisingly
how does that even happen.
Dang,thats alot of dammage
I’ve dealt with something very similar on and ender 3, my solution was a lot of chipping away at the blob and a new hotend
Lmao its not ruined the entire hot end assembly is like $30 lol
The Elephant's Foot!
Not a single sensor can detect this?
How the hell did you manage that
you should have bought one of those self monitoring camera addons for your printer that detects if something is wrong...
Akira?
Octoprint with a raspberry pi camera with fail detection. Get u it
I don't understand how people likes 3d printing, it is like this 90% of the time
You might think so from what you see on the Internet but it's not really, I've been 3d printing as a hobby for around 5 years and never had a failure this bad, once you get into it failures of any kind are pretty rare, and it's a really fun and rewarding hobby, you should try it!
@@brennanspiller4990 I did, I got a Creality Ender 3 a few months ago and it was too much for me. Perhaps a better model would be different
Oh happened to me pretty often, itll take a few hours to clean but heat it to 200 and itll come off in mainly 1 piece then clean off the bits
*reasons ill never get into 3D printing* Ill stick to my metal lathe and welder for making anything i need
That has happened to me but not as big, barely a little smaller than a ping pong ball
How on earth is that even possible
Life finds a way....
That is why I never do a print when I’m asleep or not home
Thats why i use a cam and ai to pause failed prints
Im gonna have nightmares about that thing
